    I've been thru 3 floods living at coastal NC. You'd think rain water is clean but flood waters are nasty. What's left behind when the waters gone will cause serious infections if you scrape or cut yourself on anything that was underwater.
    During the 3 floods , I never saw my neighbors house floating by , pontoon boats coming over a dams spillway or had to pull someones body from the water.
    I'm really sorry to have seen what you good people have endured. I know what its like to lose a home.but the devastation there is like nothing Ive seen. God bless you all. I will keep all in my prayers.
    NC loves you and wont forget you .

      There's already a Vibrio outbreak in Florida.
      I don't see how any of the waters could be safe for a very long time. At least 1000 are still missing, besides the hundreds of bodies they already pulled out. Wasnt just 200 either, the residents will tell you..Thousands of vehicles, oil & gas & freon, , those homes with their AC'S, cleaning products, paints, the business & factories. All that won't dissolve in a few months.

    I have watched many interviews with flood victims. One elderly lady stood out. She indicated that the road beside her river was built entirely upon a foundation of mine tailings. The road and its foundation of mine tailings were completely destroyed along several stretches of the river (somewhere in the Nolichucky watershed). Mine tailings being placed next to a water way is very unusual. Frequently, strong chemical solutions are utilized in the seperation processes, and tailings are generally kept segregated for good reasons. All waterways, public water supplies, and all well water should be tested repeatedly for the next year.

    • @kowashy03
      @kowashy03 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +5

      for the most part yes products from mines are separated with chemicals. in this case i think when she refers to mine tailings she is referring to large rock/boulder that wasnt ever subject to chemical flotation. i live in the area where there are tons of old mines from before chemical analysis. plenty of people use giant rocks, sand, gravel from the mines for all sorts of things, on their property, under the roads. youll find it everywhere. just rocks
      edit: even the mines that did chemical separation there is thousands upon thousands of tons of rock left over that was never processed. just sitting there

      We haven't even pulled all the dead bodies out of the water yet, and the Cadaver Dogs are dying from the toxicity of both the French Broad and the Nolichucky. They are so polluted with not only the coal tailings & septic, but the nuclear waste dump {there's a superfund site right on the river}no one seems to be talking about. The plastic plant, the mines, the asbestos from most of the older homes that washed away, and much more is never portrayed in this "PBS water report"... The State of NC is still saying under 200 people died, but we all know that's nowhere near accurate. Thankfully I'm at a very high elevation, and my well water and home are fine. We've got solar and have been preparing for years. However those at lower elevations are not. I didn't see anyone from a legacy Media News crew interview the folks who are living on their land in tents, to stop the thieves from stealing, or because they have nowhere else to go. Now, the State is removing children from what's left of their families and homes, if they don't have a 'modern house', and these kids are already traumatized. They need their family, Not a foster home. This is the worst disaster our State and Federal Government has ignored in my 67 years of life... I thought East Palestine OH & Lahaina Maui was bad, but this is much worse. Don't let PBS fool you...

    Bless these volunteers. Just wish the billionaires would donate to save these areas with expenses of the volunteers. I am sure they will get that stuff out of the riverway but the costs of fuel and trash hauling need to be covered for them. The costs of heavy equipment to drag out those cars and trucks is massive. Even a fridge is a challenge when tangled in trees. Pray for these folks and donate where you can.

    They can’t be allowed to get away with this. This is the worst kind of crime against humanity. Killed so many people. Destroyed thousands of lives, thousands of families. The damage may never be undone. And why? All because of hate. Because they want power to destroy us. They must be held accountable.

    I love in rural Burke Co and love the Green River Gorge. I ride my adv motorcycle through there when I visit Lake Jocassee and stop at fish top to take a break from riding there. Heartbreaking to see the kind of damage the event did down there. Up in the pisgah high country, we got nailed bad too.
    Sure am glad I got photos of fish top. Hopefully clean up efforts continue and hopefully we can fix all of our waterways as best we possibly can

The dams or something wasn’t working right something went wrong and I don’t understand why they didn’t get the people out when it was already flooded and I knew a hurricane was coming their way somebody dropped the ball or the state something happened, and you guys need to find out why it happened because if it ever happens again, I’ve never heard of a hurricane in the mountains

      “Designer Weather” brought to you by HAARP. Ppl from CA know what “cloud seeding” is bc they’ve been making it rain in CA for years. Now, it’s being used by “God only knows”. The technology was sold from a Govt Weather Agency to an “unknown” during the Clinton’s years. It’s activated by radars (airports, weather stations, military installations, etc). There are also CHEM TRAILS (aluminum, barium & other chemicals) sprayed in the air all over the U.S. ( believe TN has stepped up & banned). Farm animals are being affected horribly by it. Also kills trees from the top down.

    I'm up in Ashe County. I'm curious. Our well was not overtaken by floods because we live on a hill. I understood I don't need to test water. My curiosity is.. do events like this change the aquifer itself way below the surface?

      Shallow wells should be monitored. Deep wells not so much unless compromised. Also depends on the under surface geology. Here in Missouri we have cave systems that can take surface water underground and then pop back out miles away back to the surface in springs. If it is underground long enough and filtered enough it is fine but I lived on a spring where rain twenty five miles away would come out near me two days later. I never used that spring water for anything but showers. The slopes that the water entered were nearly all cattle pasture so E Coli was going into the caves and coming out in my spring. We knew all of this from dye tracing the waterway underground. Not all of the caves were even on the surface but crack in the limestone and sink holes were letting the surface water into the caves and running under a ridge to my area. Strange to not even have rain, sometimes sunny days, but over there would downpour and two days later our spring run would flood out of it's banks.

    • @hime273
      @hime273 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @markpashia7067 This is in the mountains, most wells are less than 200 feet deep, and are drawing off of water that's over 2,000 feet above sea level.
      So its not like everybody's drawing off of one massive aquifer.

      Those are not aliencrafts. They were manufactured in Lockheed or Skunkworks from crashed benevolent alien craft the clandestine hidden government shot down with scalar technology. This disaster was planned which is why 2 buses of illegal aliens from the southern border were dropped off 2 days before the disaster. May the survivors be blessed beyond anything I can imagine. This is a planned land grab.
