Candle wax, ski wax, even wax rings for toilets are no longer wax. They are all petroleum based compounds. Bee’s wax is being sold to industrial based companies by the ton. Since it’s oilephobic, they melt it, spray in tiny drops into tall vacuum chamber while it falls to the floor in dust sized stabile tiny ball-shaped pellets. They use it in oil spills and the bilge of boats. It absorbs oil, then microbes consume it leaving clean water behind. Sad but true. Even “Burt’s Bee’s” is entering contracts to suppliers. Plus the “Hive Collapse” made supplies much less. Tallow works.
My older brother worked as a professional sign builder. One day his router bit sheared off and went through his face shield into his upper lip and his gum. BE CARRFUL, PROTECT YOURSELVES!
How does this stay perfectly circular? I am trying to save a set of wheels that someone took a dremel to. Then hub bore is chewed up pretty bad. I was hoping I could do something like this, but I have no idea how a router would stay circular without a guide
There's a bearing on the underside of the bit that keeps it from going off track. If you don't have a perfectly round surface on the center to base it off of you're kinda SOL. Unless you can make a jig to use the barrel of your wheel as a reference instead of the center bore
If you go all the way through You will probably mess it up because you will no longer be able to use the bearing on the bottom to keep it straight@@F82Mitch
I went for the diameter as well and got the right sized but for the diameter I needed. I needed a 3/4" larger diameter so I got a bit that took 3/8 off each side. 3/8 + 3/8= 3/4
Nicely done! You did a great job. One thing to remember is to move the router in a clockwise direction, as you were doing. Thanks
Wax is your friend. Candle wax, smear it all over the cut area every pass. Snowboard/ski wax works better if you have it.

@@timskineash some sort of guide is a great idea! I can probably come up with something. Thanks!
Yes dude, geez
how did you start the cut ? i feel like it would grab
appreciate the video didnt think of that
Think turning a bore size of 87.1mm to a 93.1mm is to much?
tbh, it’s a hard send, you really don’t want to go past 5.. if you do it’s just very risky & high chance of failure
@@aldairdc8292been running them fine so far even took them on a pretty good road trip
Why not got all the way through? Why just counter sink?
Because I still wanted to use the same hubcaps. If I went all the way through the hubcaps wouldnt fit anymore
@@timskineash ok
He says it in the video. He doesn't have to go that deep... For me, I have to go farther than an inch. Not sure if I can do it very easy

I have a colorado. Very similar.
Did you shoot for depth and a diameter or just the depth.

What is the bore on the Isuzu? Colorado is 100.3
Can i have name that machine u use it ?
It's just a handheld router. You just gotta make sure it's not a palm router and that the collet of the router matches the shank of the bit.
