    Yeah, luggin' around heavy rotary tables doesn't work so well these days for me. Good job and good video.

    I right enjoyed the video Tom. You said "I don't trust the Chinesium DRO". Good hands on method watching your old school engineering technique. Much more interesting. Cheers Tony

      Thanks Tony. To me most jobs I prefer the rotary table. Some random project for me I may choose to use the DRO bolt pattern feature.

    Nice Tom, by the looks of the chips im thinking there cast steel not cast iron. To long of chips for cast iron. I sure like my parking attachment for my super spacer, big back saver. Your shop is looking great. I have spent a lot of time rearranging my shop. Had to move some machines out to get other machines in. New shop on hold till prices get back down. Always nice to see a video out from you Tom. Gary

      Hey Gary. Yeah I was kind of on the fence about the material. It was fine powdery chips for the most part. Every now and then I would get a long chip. If it is cast steel then it sure is poor quality and probably wouldn’t want to waste my time welding on it anyways. Material prices seem to be dropping off finally. Hopefully you can get started soon.

    Brilliant job.. I was wondering if I could weld the hub holes to get a bit stronger ... would that be possible???

    How much to do this? Adding 4.5 bolt holes along side 4.75

    Good job. My DRO pros unit does an awesome job. I’ve made several plates for my tire machine and never had a problem. My rotary table is heavy, so I avoid getting it out

    By the outer shape of that hub you should run out and confiscate the owners hammer. 😀

    Sir i need to mount my 15 inch truck wheels with a 5 bolt pattern onto my small trailer hub which has a 4 bolt pattern. Is it possible for me to drill out a 4 bolt pattern if there is a 5 hole bolt patter on the rims. I am trying to put large 15 inch wheels onto my trailer which only has small 12 inch tires. Or would it be easier to just buy new hubs from my trailer place for 45 dollars each they have new hubs that i could get. But I wonder if it would work for me to drill 4 new holes into a rim and make it work.

    • @hilltopmachineworks2131
      @hilltopmachineworks2131  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it would be easier to just buy the 5 bolt replacement hubs. Because I imagine the 4 bolt hubs are going to be smaller in diameter and there will be not enough meat there when you move out to the 5 bolt pattern. Also you may run into a couple of the 4 holes trying to drill the 5 hole pattern which means they would need to be welded up first as long as the hub is some sort of steel and not cast iron.

    Hello would you want to take the 5*114.3 wheel hub and redrill it to 5*112 . And add some new studs m12 1.5 and thru the rotors so I can run 5*112 wheels on my 5*114.3. if I don't do this I would have to drill out the 5*112 wheel lug nut bolt hole 1mm or 2mm . Either way is an idea that works

    If your up for more work? I am looking to convert trailer hubs to a 5x150 lug pattern to except Tundra wheels. Would you know how to locate blank hubs or of a trailer hub large enough? Or would there be a way to take some tundra hubs and modify them to work on a trailer.

    Sir. I would like my hubs converted to 5x115 from 5x120. Is that something you can?

      Hey Ann! I started working on cars when I was 17. Went to college for engineering. I built a shop in Charlotte back in 2004. I would do metal working and auto mechanics on my days off. Now its a hobby shop/job shop. Did you ever get any of your stickers in the mail?

    Not much material left there. I don't think I would accept to do this kind of work. Modifying parts like this can weaken them too much. But I'm sure you know that and you talked to the customer about it.
