Not only did they make this scene absolutely stunning, but they hit all the right details to make this truly feel like the overpowered ability that superspeed is. And the absolute attention to detail with all of the water droplets, the way things move around him from the wind he creates, the way things seem to speed up when he gets close to them and then slow back down as he stops affect them. I think the best way this scene conveyed his power was when he gently poked at the guards face, only for his face to ripple out like if it came from a massive punch.
@@tonuahmed4227 No, he's not actually affecting time, rather we're seeing things from his perspective. Due to light not being instantaneous, time seems to move faster for things closer to us, and slower for things further away. This is just an optical illusion, and more importantly because we can only see things relatively close to us (even thousands of miles are nothing on a galactic scale) the visible difference is billionths of a second so we can't tell the difference. For an example of a time we CAN see this: stars. The stars we see are actually how they appeared millions of years ago, because there's so far away that it's taken the light that long to go from them to our eyes. Anyway, Quicksilver is moving so fast - and processing everything so fast - that those 'billionths of a second' are noticeable to him. He's able to discern a difference between, say, light reaching him in one billionth of a second and light reaching him in one-and-a-half billionths.

Cool, I have seen this movie countless times and I've still never realised that. I love when moviemakers keep an eye on such details. Meanwhile, in the DC universe, superman is carrying a whole apartment block that would simply break and fall apart, because that is not how houses work. And the Flash super-speeds a truck and would _so_ kill the two children on the cargo bed by getting them cut in half by the tailboard first and then 'throwing' their remains off the car and the parents by simply turning them into mush. Hell, and the parents would be the _lucky_ ones, think of it, one moment you are sitting on the cargo bed of a truck, the next moment you feel an unbearable pain, you are lying somewhere in the mud, your lower body is gone, you hear your sibling scream in unbearable agony or maybe it's you and then you die.
And he needed to protect his ear byusing earphones or else the speed might burst his eardrums.. Such a PERFECT concept for the Quicksilver character. He's nihilistic, bored, and care-free because he has a superpower that reduces the meaning of everything because he experiences all of it so slowly, and almost nothing is a threat to him.

That's the thing, isn't it- 7 months of intensive work. When people complain about bad effects in recent movies, it's worth remembering just how understaffed and overworked the vfx studios are. They can make incredible things- they just need the time and money to do so...

In all honesty, with how fast he was moving, every single one of those guards are dead. Remember force = mass x acceleration. So it's not quite possible to be mephisto because he wouldn't show up as a different pietro, but would've showed up as Aron Taylor Johnson's Quicksilver
Personal headcanon for this scene. Quicksilver has a playlist of songs that are all sped up by variable speeds (x20 x 50 x100 etc) for his speedy moments. They serve as a way of keeping track of how fast he’s going since he doesnt have the best handle on his ability just yet. A point of reference for him to go off of. And they serve as a way of limiting his time going that fast, since doing it for too long would tire him or cause things and people around him to take a lot of damage.
But that also is something not that evident because in real time a bullet travels 4-5 times faster than sound. And suppose the distance between the x men and the security guards is say 4-5 meters, so the distance between quicksilver's ears and his walkman should be less than 1meter [(dist b/w x men and security guards)/speed of bullets must be greater than dist b/w quicksilver's ears and the walkman/speed of sound] [i.e the time taken by bullets to reach X-Men should be greater than time taken by song to reach quicksilver] Hence the length of the song heard by quicksilver (about 1.5min ) is impossible no matter how much u increase the speed of his songs to 20x, 50x etc So, no matter how much his songs are tuned such that their speed is 20x or more or anything. The fundamental speed of sound on Planet earth restricts the claim of ur statement. I hope this makes sense 😂😁

@@HELLO_KORO Well by the laws of physics without an ability to control Intertia the moment he touch those guard he could blow them off and instantly kill them, the moment he step on that wall he would create a crack there as he put a force at those step, in fact the moment he step on the ground he would lose his legs. Intertia refer to an objects amount of resistance towards the change in velocity, if he really did move in "Mach 8200" then he would simply destroy everything in its path by just "Moving", no object even his own body(as neither did tungsten) could survive such velocity. Unless the nature of this quicksilver ability is not actually a superspeed, but he live in different dimension of time. But yeah since this is fiction, you can literally have Superspeed without any supplementary abilities, in real life if someone really does have speed of Mach 8200 he's also the strongest person in the entire world. This is why i hate speedster, most of the speedster abilities doesn't make any sense, at least Flash actually paid attention to those detail.
Loved its usage for agatha episode 7's credits even if its a near certainty its thematically for Lilia and not meant to tie into Fox Quicksilver despite Evan Peters' brief return.

Kind of morbid fact: the guy who wrote the song wrote it when he learned his wife was pregnant. He wrote it for his son and about how he couldn’t have enough time with his son, but then he performed the song about a month before his own death. His son was about 2 years old but probably less.
So. You're saying Quicksilver's iconic scene plays the song of a man lamenting not getting to truly be with his son? And this is minutes after meeting Magneto? They knew what they were doing....

I’m confused so the song would be going fast if he didn’t control his speed or whatever but, what I don’t understand is, is the song going fast when using his power but, that doesn’t matter because he has the power to control at how fast a song goes when he decides to listen to music?
@@edvinsalguero621 I don't know much about Quicksilver, but from what I've undersood, I think he means that he has pre-recorded songs that play at a high speed so in real time the song would sond like gibberish (because they're very sped up) but he can use the song as a reference to callibrate the intensity of his powers by matching the speed at which he runs to the speed of the song. So, how does he know if he's at the same speed as the song? The song sounds normal
I don't think so. Apply relativity here, at Quicksilver's speed it becomes surprisingly relevant. He is moving at inhuman speed, but so is his music player. Hence he hears the song at normal speed, but his speed means time slowed down for him. To observers, for whom time passes normally, it looks like the song would have to be sped up, but that's not the case.

When people complain about bad effects in recent movies, it's worth remembering just how understaffed and overworked the vfx studios are.

Oh that’s interesting
I love this. I was literally just thinking "wouldn't the songs be slowed down too?" This makes perfect sense and in mind is 100% what is happening.
@@ftbllguy2515 no they won't be, think of it in this way, if you sit inside an aircraft, are the songs you listen to slowed down?
But that also is something not that evident because in real time a bullet travels 4-5 times faster than sound. And suppose the distance between the x men and the security guards is say 4-5 meters, so the distance between quicksilver's ears and his walkman should be less than 1meter [(dist b/w x men and security guards)/speed of bullets must be greater than dist b/w quicksilver's ears and the walkman/speed of sound] [i.e the time taken by bullets to reach X-Men should be greater than time taken by song to reach quicksilver]
Hence the length of the song heard by quicksilver (about 1.5min ) is impossible no matter how much u increase the speed of his songs to 20x, 50x etc
So, no matter how much his songs are tuned such that their speed is 20x or more or anything. The fundamental speed of sound on Planet earth restricts the claim of ur statement.

This is why i hate speedster, most of the speedster abilities doesn't make any sense, at least Flash actually paid attention to those detail.
@@asphyxiationofarruhu2444 lets just say his Mutant abilities stop that from happening why? Because powers
Loved its usage for agatha episode 7's credits even if its a near certainty its thematically for Lilia and not meant to tie into Fox Quicksilver despite Evan Peters' brief return.
It's 2022 almost 2023 and this still lives on to be one of the greatest cinematography scenes of all time
It really is though. I think its probably also THE all time coolest fight choreography without there being any actual fighting. It's really hard to display any sort of martial arts, or even super power, in such a way.
23* (now).
it's NOT cinematography you stupid dump snowflake. You know nothing about film Mis-En-Scen, lighting, shutter speed etc.
bro does not understand cinematography
huh ?
Kind of morbid fact: the guy who wrote the song wrote it when he learned his wife was pregnant. He wrote it for his son and about how he couldn’t have enough time with his son, but then he performed the song about a month before his own death. His son was about 2 years old but probably less.
Its so tragic. I hope he finds peace on realizing we're all cherishing his song
Jim Croce, he was an amazing singer as well as a writer. He would have been so big had he not been in the plane crash. Happens to the best
He got a name he got a name.
So. You're saying Quicksilver's iconic scene plays the song of a man lamenting not getting to truly be with his son? And this is minutes after meeting Magneto?
They knew what they were doing....
And the fact the song is released in 1973, the same time about this scene background.
0:33 The moment the gun fired, it's like a timer for the audience to see just how fast he is compared to a bullet and for Quick Silver to start his running. We get to see how far the bullets have traveled towards the end of his run.
That’s a great way of looking at it. He did all that in like what……..005 seconds real time? 😳😳😳 wild
Just imagine if they represented Flash correctly in this way, bullet would've not even gone half way
He also stood still for a "second" before moving the bullets, that says he was barely even trying.
@@thefracturedbutwhole5475 Judging from his expression, it's almost like only after he took out the guards, did he realize that maybe he should do something about the bullets
you guys forgot something, if you watch clearly in all of the Quicksilvers scene in the movies, he have the potential to go faster or slower in his ultra movespeed. if you pay attention, you can see that even in the slowmo, he sometimes do a very fast move from one point to another. So, you can legitimately think that if he werent ultra lazy, he could use 100% of his time his ultra ultra ultra speed, but he's a lazy jerk, so he take time to prank and be a jerk.
This song is in the Agatha all along in the end credits of episode 7

It’s unfortunate he died before he was even able to be expanded on…
Correction he put them down behind cover then ran back out to the open
So weird honestly. In the hawkeye scene, where he shot him through the glass, the bullet was also super slow. He could have moved that.
idk that scene where he punches cap during his speed was pretty funny

A guy said its sped up by 20x 50x and 100x depending on his speed moments so he limits his usage and since he doesnt have complete control yet
@@mrtophat7167 Quicksilvers power includes time manipulation. He is simply playing the Walkman at normal speed but within it's own time bubble so that he can listen to it. I didn't see anyone mentioning this but at 1:34 he actually redirected the knives so the guards didn't get stabbed. Even if it was unintentional, none of the guards were fatally wounded at the end which just proves how much better he handled that situation than any of them could have
Xavier would've had no problem defusing the whole situation if he didn't pump himself with a drug due to his ego. Which was a weird thing to do with that character. Good movie though.
@@elykspuz6596 I think it was a way of showing that Xavier wasn't always humble and kind...he had a period of weakness in his younger days but learned from the trials he faced.

Fun fact: The reason he's always wearing headphones is because he has to listen to the song in super speed. You hear the song in regular time because that's what he hears. That's also why the song cuts out as soon as time is normal. Oh and the shades/goggles are for eye protection. His body and eyes can handle the increased speed but it still causes irritation.
To observers, for whom time passes normally, it looks like the song would have to be sped up, but that's not the case.
what is he listening to music on? the scene takes place in 1973 and the walkman was invented in 1979
The song started before he had them on...
This scen is up there with the greatest VFX scenes of all times. The attention to detail and physics is tremendous. The music and humot added to it. Definitely a masterpiece of a scene.

No wonder why Quicksilver got nerfed in MCU.
If he managed to survive till Endgame, he probably finishes the gauntlets chase scene in seconds and return all stone at once.
It could have ruined endgame completely, and Disney didn't have that much rights to use quicksilver more than one film but now they got rights by owning fox so they will use this Quicksilver in future films
this is a different quicksilver representation, Fox QS is literally overpowered, all the X-Men power levels are much more impressive than mcu, if you put this Quicksilver there he could actually solo the whole verse.
@ً yeah... cause that would be the flash not quicksilver.. but oh well still funny to watch
@ً no... quicksilver is much faster than sound. Its stated he can run faster than radio waves which is roughly the speed of light. Originally he could on run at the speed of sound then he hits mach 15 and progresses from there
