    Love your channel. I’ll be making a quilt top this way with a white quilted spread from a thrift shop. I think I’ll use a glue stick and let the edges fray. You made the cutting method easier. ❤

    I made 3 quilts with this pattern and I've cut out 3 more. The 1st I made ou u of scraps from our quilting group place for 25 , 50cents a bag. Sometimes 1.00 a bag. They were scrape the others threw away too. I made cardboard patterns and just traced around them and I'm still using the cardboard ones. They're still going strong. I made the first set out of all different colors etc probably 10 yrs ago. This set is going to be all reds. The way u are doing it is too involved. I made it simple. Nothing personal bcuz I love watching u. I used scissors and it was so easy.

    I love this idea I did try it but they didn't come out like yours lol😍 I need some ideas on what to do with all these orphan blocks I have made through the years nothing really goes together. The only thing I can think about is dog beds? Got any thing up your sleeve MS Lea LOUISE ?

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh no, not that, Vera! 😂 I often make 24" squares with a flannel backing as chair seat protectors. My desk chair is over a year old and still looks new. Also don't forget about quilt backs - odds and ends like that can often work well together in small quantities as a backing design. How about a sewing machine cover or even pillows for you. Then maybe you can resort to dog beds. Though I must confess my first chair cover years ago was for our cat! LOL Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

    Do you not press your fabrics before cutting out or sewing on to?

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally I'll press out heavy wrinkles, Susan. Then I press the seams as pieces are sewn together. Thanks for watching! Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

  • @barbaranorth3581

    How do you put on the backing if doing a quilt?

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The backing would be added as for any other quilt, Barbara. After making each block, join them and maybe even add a lattice. I would sew each rose to the background but not do all the stitching, just enough to hold it in place. Then secure your quilt sandwich and quilt around each rose and fill in the rest with your favorite quilting pattern. Thanks for watching! Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

    Looks like you just added a layer to Heather French’s very popular French Roses pattern. Hopefully you credit her for “your idea”

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point! As with so many quilt patterns, the French Rose pattern has been around for decades under various names. It seems it may have originated in New Orleans in the 1930's if not even earlier. I love Heather's variation, too. Thanks a bunch for watching! 💐 Happy Quilting,
