I had this glimpse during an episode of deep suffering when I felt like I had no escape. I refused to use alcohol and other drugs in order to escape, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When I had absolutely no other way to escape, I somehow stumbled on this glimpse that freedom from all this required absolutely no effort. It was right there all along and just required the subtlest of shifts in perspective. ✌️

When we’re happy and fulfilled, this is our glimpse into our nature of beingness and in essence our true selves. The mistake we make is trying to manipulate exterior circumstances to achieve this feeling. The irony is that there’s nothing to “try and achieve” because it’s who we are and is our nature. It’s so amazing the games we play to get some place in which we already are. The simplicity of it is almost laughable if it weren’t also so deceptive and painful when not seen.

when you're happy there's no desire to achieve anything else. When you're happy you're fulfilled. There's no more reason for doing anything, because you've already got what you would seek through doing anything. You've already arrived at the happiness that you seek.

    Summarising all of rupert’s teachings:
When you ask yourself the question “am i aware”...you refer to an objective-quality less experience of being aware and a thought rises “yes”. If you stay with that experience after the thought (being aware of being aware),awareness gradually ,in time ,loses its limitations and the true nature of awareness will shine as it is .This process is called self abidance. It is the path to happiness.

We modify our experience with drugs, alcohol, thrills, sex, all to reach release, surrender, and freedom from our division. And awareness by turning our attention to what "I am" really means (being aware) returns us to true happiness (the knowing of our true being). When he said that when you are happy, you don't have any purpose or goal you want to achieve anymore. That's true logic. That's why you cannot say "what is the purpose after you are happy?" Because once you become happy, there's nothing left to do anymore!

Trigger of Happiness is very important so as not to add more unhappiness because of it. That’s what religious do’s and don’ts are. The beauty of Direct path is that it manifests happiness without external triggers, avoiding negative side effects and the dependencies they may have. Exceptions are, surrender or knowledge help from a Guru as Divine triggers, if the right one.
Mr. Spira is just Awesome gift to the seekers of Happiness.

Why don't we KNOW where we came from, why we're here, or where we're going. This whole talk, albeit wonderful, is a group of us in a moment in time, stopping and playing with the eternal question, trying to find meaning. Is it possible we're in a simulated reality? Nothing more and nothing less.

The purpose of life it's to experience life itself. Happiness like any other feeling is subjective and depending on the chemistry of you brain, so it can change at any time. We're are not here too find anything, we're are here just to experience.

  • @marcosellsproperty3843

This is clear. Simple. Universal. It’s very hard to do and remember without first building the habit that breaks the illusory self. To me it’s daily work where sometimes I feel I’m getting ahead and really grasping it. So many other times it’s some version of its opposite. I wonder what would it be like (my experience that is) with just being happy in perpetuity?

For ACIM students "being aware" as Rupert speaks of is what Jesus refers to in A Course in Miracles as the happy dream state. That is the goal of ACIM to undo the belief in separation and to be happy. I love Rupert's clarity!

A really great explanation (for those who are patient enough to listen intently for 20 minutes).
This is clearer than the videos from a few years back, perhaps he has refined his intellectual understanding (which is dependent on the body and its thoughts).
