I so agree with you. I’ve been a huge fan for years but how wonderful to see this reaction from someone who has just heard them for the first time. It takes me back decades.🥰
"I am so jealous of people who lived listening to this music...." That much says it... Bee Gees had so many hits it is mind boggling how they could have written so many good songs. I so remember like yesterday the first time I heard 'How deep is your love' - it was right after I was done installing a car stereo and was testing it out, and the radio DJ played that song... It was so mesmerizing.. and I must've heard it thousand times since then. What an era.
There is nothing to compare with sibling harmonisation. I know. I have 2 sisters. We were nothing like the wonderful Bee Jees but just them, there used to be 4 sisters. It's a kinda weird sibling thing I suppose.
Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, The Association, The Brooklyn Bridge or the Crests, The Grass Roots, The Righteous Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel, and many more... The only thing is they all have their own unique sound. Today there is one group that has excellent harmonies and that is Pentatonix! Back then they were a dime a dozen, today they are rare diamonds!
I had the great pleasure to play at the same concert in Scotland in 1968 - my band The State Property - played the First hour then the Bee Gees for almost an hour and we came back for the final hour!! I Will Never forget it. I am the only one left in my band!! Will Never forget!!

My generation was privileged to have this type music and type of musicians for Decades( 1970 onwards) we heard it every day ,and yes we knew how amazing it was then and still is today. So when us , the baby boomers say music today is pretty much awful, a lot of the African American music is full of foul language and violence. This is how music should be, uplifting, beautiful, a pleasure to the ears and soul. The Bee Gees are my all time favs. I had major crush on Barry Gibb. The entire family was so gifted.
I'm a 67 year old guy. Watching this video gave me goosebumps, and even produced some very unexpected tears. This song fills my heart with such emotion. To Barry, I am so sorry for the loss of your brothers! All of you are amazing...

Yes, you nailed it. And their tight synchronization with even the vibrato and little vocal flourishes, it's like they were singing with one mind. They were absolutely my favorite group in the late 1970s.
yeh mate, he had 2 brothers in the beegees and another called andy who died young after having a limited musical career, i understand how his loss of 3 brothers would be, ive lost 2 siblings and will probably outlast the other 2, i don't want to die, but i don't want to be the last either. but thats life.
They are singing in their falsetto voices. It is only one of their astonishing talents...not to mention their prolific songwriting abilities. There are many other songs for you to enjoy, a lot of them sung in their "normal" voices. Your reaction was very moving Sarah!👍👍❤❤

Great Reaction sand there were 4 musical Brothers but the youngest: Andiywent solo. If you want to see a great video of their single "Alone" then you will see the song interspersed with home movie clips from the age of 8 years old of them performing but if you take your eyes of the video you will miss things because it shows them from the 1960s onwards on the street and performing. It's great :)
Yes, exactly. Good hint. We name it Falsett in german and further they composed so many tunes for really celebrity singers like e.g. Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion and many others. There were numerous remakes like to love somebody by Jimmi Somerville in the early 90s. It is not even possible to make an entire footage i.e. a biopic, documentary of them because something will be always miissing, some detail of their caeer. But the started as kids and never quitted writing songs in their studio. Handmade music by really hard working men. Not such a castingshow crap as nowadays.
2 bad all these channels are bullshit and they’re just farming your views, capitalizing on the “chills” you get watching these people fake love whatever thing you adore so much (she has heard this song before) Ever asked yourself why non of these first time reaction channels ever have a reaction where the person goes “no I don’t like this at all”. Also, wrestling isn’t real either, just so you know Scott.
The wildest thing about the BeeGees was that not only are they incredible performers in their own right, they also wrote a TON of songs for other singers in the 60s/70s.
Barry (middle), Robin (left of screen) and Maurice are unmatched in their falsetto harmonies and nobody will ever come close to their sound! Absolutely amazing performers and such a huge talent these brother share. You have many hours of listening pleasure waiting for you. The Brothers Gibb are in a class by themselves!
The BeeGees were a group of angels who decided to bless the world with their incredible voices and music. This song is totally from the heart directly to the heart. It's sad that we've lost 3 of these incredible brothers all too soon. But we have these incredible recordings to remind us that angels sometimes grace the earth. Thank you Barry, Robin, Maurice, and Andy. 💖
Barry is still alive and is currently forming an album with Dolly Parten, Keith Urban, and others. Barry misses all his brothers as well as Andy the baby brother.
@@richremaly8418 And PLEASE, PLEASE, Sarah, don't neglect their wonderful earlier songs... I Started A Joke, To Love Somebody, dozens of other absolute gems of their youth.
Not just the pure vocals, but live back up musicians, brass etc. Every generation thinks that their era of musicians are the best, but this is truly spectacular ❤️.
Im 64 years old and I still have the same reaction you have. I grew up with the Bee Gees Ive heard all of their songs it will never get old for me. If you search the Bee Gees you can watch how they got started and how they grew up. Barry who is the oldest is still around but his twin Brothers Robin and Maurice and his younger brother Andy Gibb have now passed away which is sad. Barry talks about it in an interview he had. Also If you get a chance watch the last video that just came out a couple of weeks ago of the Beatles it was amazing. Thanks
Like you Im the same age, and this music was 'normal' at the time but then electronic music became popular because it was easer and cheaper to produce and basically why we we are were here today . Lazy and quick buck, look at Milli Vanilli and others and thier producers to blame, and now people are downloading online when they have ripped off the public for years, they are moaning
When I was a middle-schooler, this was just a sweet, inconsequential love song on the radio. Hearing it now, all these years later, I’m blown away by its beauty. I love watching people hear it for the first time. Totally sublime.
You really had to live through the disco era to understand why the Bee Gees falsetto fit so perfectly into the landscape of the time. It was fun. Loved your reaction.

So Sarah l appreciate you and what you're doing. Pay no attention to such lack luster individuals. I'm a 55-year-old lady from Neuquen city, in the Argentinian Patagonia. I started studying English when I was 8. At my 14, I used to listen to the Bee Gees with my ear attached to the radiocassette, trying to learn the lyrics, because you didn't know too much about your favourite singers or bands. I still think it's so moving listening to them, their voices and falsetto are so beautiful, the lyrics so romantic. Tears running down my cheeks. Happy to see your reaction.
Imagine dying without having listened to these masterpiece. That's why i respect these young'un doing these reaction videos. They opened their mind and let the art speak for themselves. This is something we old heads could learn from them.

I am not a fan of these fake groomed stars that are just puppets. I'm so glad I grew up surrounded with great music from my grandparents era, my parents era and the wonderful music during my childhood. New music isn't rich or deep or very interesting. And hate the remakes too
Pitch Correction (auto-tune) has been around and in industry use since the 1950s. It just wasn't until the 1990s that someone thought it would make a cool effect and cranked it up to 11.
Very condescending. I’m 70... I love her reaction to music we were so blessed to grow up with. I hope you rewatch and enjoy the beauty of her pure reaction. 🙏
There has always been an invisible pull with these guys....they’re voices were so incredible. It is still mesmerizing. Memories that come back are like flood gates opening up.....
This is my first time watching you react, I grew up listening to the Bee Gees in the 70s. Your reaction was priceless. I am a fan from this one reaction. Keep up the Awesome work!
I enjoy watching these kinds of reactions, but I must say that this one was FAR and AWAY the most reaction I've seen from anyone listening to any song, and it was so genuine...you could tell that this wasn't just a listen, but a full-on experience for Sarah - The Bee Gees had the kind of harmony that could make you think you were floating on a cloud - terrific group.
And to this day, no one has emerged to replace them. Nothing like. What surprises me is your surprise with the perfect vocals of the Gibb brothers. The whole world has known them for decades. But congratulations on recognizing the talent of these monsters of world music.
"The whole world has known them for decades." There are some parts of the world where western music is not part of everyday life. I changed the life of someone from India by introducing him to Barry White. He was forever hooked.
And to top it off, I guarantee they did this in one take. Young people need to appreciate the execution of perfection by some musicians in the past. Karen Carpenter, John Denver, Ann Wilson, and so many other insane performances. No computers or auto tune. Just talent and hard work.
I LOVE seeing this young generation giving older (real) music a listen. I went to a college town a few years back and checked out a kareoke spot. ALL the kids were singing 80's music and nailing the vocals and the words. 🤗
Not just their voices, which are incredible, but the content. Their songs were sooooo deep and romantic and CLEAN! I never get tired of hearing them and others from back in those days. Real talent.
Your reaction made ME cry! I've loved the BeeGee's for 40 years and it's wonderful to see others appreciate their unique and exquisitely beautiful sound! Thank you! ❤️
That was truly the purest and most beautiful reaction to this song. I have heard it countless times and seem others react... you made me appreciate it more than I have since I first heard it years ago.. No, you made me appreciate it more than I EVER have. Thank you so much for sharing, I can't even relate how great you made me feel! ❤️
I have been listening to The Bee Gees for 50 YEARS! Seeing your first reaction was pure joy! 🥰 In addition to all the suggestions here, check out "Woman In Love," his collaboration with Barbra Streisand. Extraordinary!!!
The Bee Gees were performing on TV when they were teenagers. They have always written and performed music. It's nice to see your appropriate reaction. I was born in 1971, so I have been listening to the Bee Gees since I was a little boy, and I still get goosebumps listening to them today. Btw, I am a metal drummer since I was 18 years old, so Bee Gees music touches everyone.
And The Bee Gees didn’t happen overnight. They were a group when they were just children . They’ve been giving the world unbelievable beautiful music for decade after decade after decade and so on . They evolved every decade and not only sang so beautifully theirselves but wrote number 1 hits for so so many artists out there today . They have stood the test of time and I’m honored to have lived during this great phenomena of a Group . Rest In Peace Robin Andy and Maurice Gibb . Barry is the last lone Bee Gee , may he live out the rest of his years with so much comfort for all the entertainment he and and his brothers has gave the world . Thank you Barry Gibb for sharing all your talent with the world . May you have peace ,love and joy for the remainder of your life . Sincerely, Chris Chamberlain
The Gibb brothers started singing together as children, so by the time this was recorded, they'd been singing harmonies together for 20 years already. They also played instruments and they wrote most of their own songs - and also wrote songs for others that have been big hits.
I know Barry wrote many well known songs for other people as well as for their own use. Barry is the only one left and I think life without his brothers has been hard. Glad another generation is enjoying the BeeGee's
@raderad1 no it wasn't. The track was laid in studio. Many, many layers of vocals. This video was shot as a charity benefit fundraiser and also the official video for the song, but this audio track is not live.
The BeeGee's falsetto voices are the stuff of Legend . They were GOOD when they were singing in full voice , but when they ushered in the Disco era with their wonderful harmonies and beautiful , rich falsetto the whole world sat up and took notice . They are and always WILL BE the stuff of Legend . Hopefully , their music will still be heard and revered at the turn of the NEXT century and beyond . Congratulations to Mum and Dad Gibb . Your boys did good .
This music is as real as it gets. Non-electric instuments and no auto-tune, no fancy recording studio mixers, just live mike's and live raw natural voices in a big open room. That angelic sound just falls from their lips. I grew up with their music, but this one still makes me cry every time.
Your reaction was almost as divine as their voices. Girl you have to keep going and listen to many, many more songs from the Bee Gee's. Their music is pure joy and happiness.
One of the greatest discoveries in pop music is Barry Gibb's wonderful falsetto which is probably first heard on "You Should Be Dancing" but best showcased here with support from the twins, Robin and Maurice. There was a fourth brother, Andy, who never formally joined the group but, who sang with his brothers whenever his solo career would allow. The Brothers Gibb (BeeGees) are British by birth and Australian by upbringing and, next to the Beatles, the most successful British band in pop history. They are the only group to have UK number one singles in three different decades.
@@angelaowens3311 Sorry Angela, but you're very wrong. That is Barry and the twins Maurice and Robin Gibb. Andy did have a passing resemblance to his elder brother, Robin, but this is the classic BeeGees line-up singing here. This is what the Wikipedia entry for the song says: "The recording process was the longest of all the tracks on Spirits Having Flown as there are nine layers of three-part harmony, creating 27 voices, though the high falsetto voices are the most pronounced in the final mix: Barry on falsetto lead three times falsetto high harmony three times falsetto low harmony three times Barry on natural voice lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Imbued with their falsetto style, it is also notable for being one of two songs on the album featuring the Chicago horn section (James Pankow, Walt Parazaider and Lee Loughnane); the other track that features the Chicago members is "Search, Find", in return for the brothers' appearance on the Chicago song "Little Miss Lovin'". On its demo version, Barry begins with count-in. This track does have some backing vocals. The demo lacks the full orchestral feel of the final song."
Grahame, I did go and check my facts. Yes you are correct I do seem to recall that Andy sang with them for awhile before going solo, and Barry wrote some of his songs for him if I am not mistaken. I thought this was that performance where Andy sings with them live.
I just discovered this video and have subscribed.. you brought me to tears from your reaction alone. The Bee Gees defined the 70s and everything about it. They are timeless and stunning how talented. I absolutely love your authentic reaction and appreciation for them I grew up then and the music was amazing at that time . But no one could match “The Bee Gees “. Priceless video you have made. Tears of joy in my eyes of your reaction. Thanks❤️
I absolutely love your reaction to this video!!! I grew up listening to the Bee Gees in the 60's and 70's. I love the fact that great music can bring generations a bit closer. Looking forward to you reacting to more of their music. Look for "Staying Alive", "How Deep is your Love", "Jive Talking", "Nights on Broadway". Unfortunately,, the two younger brothers, Robin and Maurice have passed away. Barry, the older brother is still with us. These brothers have blessed us with amazing music for many years. Thank you for what you do and may God bless you always!!!
They also had a much younger brother who died first. His name was Andy Gibb. Check him out! Much like Barry; who wrote many of his songs. Too Much Heaven income was donated to UNICEF and has raised millions for children throughout the world!
I was 7 when this song came out. Brings back great beautiful childhood memories. GORGEOUS SONG from the awesome BEE GEES! So blessed growing up in the 70's listening to this type of music. Best generation of music. The Bee Gees is pure perfection!
It's actually the close harmonies that induce your feelings of awe. The falsetto singing is impressive, but it's the combination of the 3 voices that's having that effect
Exactly. Maurice is actually the key to their harmony. Maurice gives the harmony depth, and blends Barry and Robin's, very different voices. It is why Barry and Robin never sounded the same, after Maurice died. Their harmony is a gift from God.
I'm of the age where I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, hearing that song while watching your reaction had me in tears - joyful, nostalgic tears. My two guilty pleasures - The Bee Gees and Sarah Dengler! :D
Born in the 60's and music is nothing like this anymore. So much love put into them. Instruments are real and the words are so beautiful. I miss the music from then. Thank you for listening to our music. The difference then and now is recognizable.
I loved your reaction. I am 65 and a woman. I remember when the BeeGees first came out. We immediately fell in love with them and bought everything they put out.. They shifted their music through the years to fit the times but they were brilliant and talented. A great combination. We didn't know how great they were until we saw others who needed studio manipulaltion to sound good. But then, back in the 60's. and 70 s there were so many great artistists. Glad you are enjoying them.
I am 63 years old. Being born in the late 50's and growing up in the 60's was a magical time for the AM and soon the FM radio. Watching the expressions on your face as these guys performed took me back to how I felt at 9 years old when my parents purchased my first hand held radio for my Birthday. It helps spending your whole lives singing together. Brothers are great when they work together.
Go back and look up when they were teenagers- siblings make for next level harmonies- so much practice
A sound that will never be duplicated. Three men that took their sound and had hits for five decades.
I had the great pleasure to play at the same concert in Scotland in 1968 - my band The State Property - played the First hour then the Bee Gees for almost an hour and we came back for the final hour!! I Will Never forget it. I am the only one left in my band!! Will Never forget!!
That’s amazing Alan! I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and took these amazing bands for granted. The music today doesn’t even come close.

@@SarahDengler Please don't be offended by the use of Ms., as Ms. or Miss are appropriate when addressing a woman in a 'professional' setting, and when the marital status is unknown or not pertinent.
And they kept their close on too, not like sleazy women now a days.
Back then, you either nailed it, or did take 2 or didn’t even try.
You asked, "How is this possible"? Answer, pure talent.
Spot on 👍👍👍👍
Yes, Sarah, they're the REAL DEAL. There will never be a musical group as the Bee Gees again. They were the best and the most humble.
I'm a 67 year old guy. Watching this video gave me goosebumps, and even produced some very unexpected tears. This song fills my heart with such emotion. To Barry, I am so sorry for the loss of your brothers! All of you are amazing...
Me too. 68 in September.

Good one.
Good one and so true
Barry and his twin brothers Robin and Maurice pronounced Morris been harmonizing since birth so there's that. We're so blessed to have had them.
These brothers were the masters of the art of falsetto and harmony. I'm still in awe after all these years.
Yes, you nailed it. And their tight synchronization with even the vibrato and little vocal flourishes, it's like they were singing with one mind. They were absolutely my favorite group in the late 1970s.
Technically proficient, but sounded f*%#ng ridiculous.
yeh mate, he had 2 brothers in the beegees and another called andy who died young after having a limited musical career, i understand how his loss of 3 brothers would be, ive lost 2 siblings and will probably outlast the other 2, i don't want to die, but i don't want to be the last either.
but thats life.
There’s nothing like the 70s and 80s songs….no soul in today’s songs …nothing hits you harder than the Beegees

I think Sabaton's music is pretty good, though their songs tell stories... so
They are singing in their falsetto voices.

@@colinscotland2887 and if she wants to see all 4 brothers-select the "You Should Be Dancing" video suggested.
Watching people discover the Bee Gees almost makes me tear up - because they are seeing the beauty so long after it came out. ♥
I laughed and actually did tear up. Their vocals were magic. This is a great song.
same feeling here ScottOne ! oxo its beautiful to see
2 bad all these channels are bullshit and they’re just farming your views, capitalizing on the “chills” you get watching these people fake love whatever thing you adore so much (she has heard this song before)

The wildest thing about the BeeGees was that not only are they incredible performers in their own right, they also wrote a TON of songs for other singers in the 60s/70s.
They wote all the songs for all the artists. :)
And the 80s and 90s.

Shoot, I’m 49 and hearing this for the 1st time. I was expanding my playlist and stumbled onto their Broadway song.

The Bee Gees made my cry as a 12 year old boy in 74. Unbelievable talent . Life long fan here. 🤠❤️

Cute reaction…the BeeGees along with Rod Stewart and a whole slew of others expanded my musical world and I miss music like this!
Don't ask me how they sound that way, I've wondered that for over 50 years. But they are good at what they do.
Leo Sayer sang “You make me feel like dancing” ....Bee Gees sang “You Should be Dancing”
Robin wasn't singing, that was Andy Gibb singing with them
@@angelaowens3311 Sorry Angela, but you're very wrong. That is Barry and the twins Maurice and Robin Gibb. Andy did have a passing resemblance to his elder brother, Robin, but this is the classic BeeGees line-up singing here.
This is what the Wikipedia entry for the song says:
"The recording process was the longest of all the tracks on Spirits Having Flown as there are nine layers of three-part harmony, creating 27 voices, though the high falsetto voices are the most pronounced in the final mix:
Barry on falsetto lead three times
falsetto high harmony three times
falsetto low harmony three times
Barry on natural voice lead three times
high harmony three times
low harmony three times
Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times
high harmony three times
low harmony three times
Imbued with their falsetto style, it is also notable for being one of two songs on the album featuring the Chicago horn section (James Pankow, Walt Parazaider and Lee Loughnane); the other track that features the Chicago members is "Search, Find", in return for the brothers' appearance on the Chicago song "Little Miss Lovin'". On its demo version, Barry begins with count-in. This track does have some backing vocals. The demo lacks the full orchestral feel of the final song."
Grahame, I did go and check my facts.
Yes you are correct
I do seem to recall that Andy sang with them for awhile before going solo, and Barry wrote some of his songs for him if I am not mistaken.
I thought this was that performance where Andy sings with them live.
Nights on Broadway was my understanding of where Barry found his falsetto.
