      This is what my feed is giving me today. I was a ramp jumping Big Wheeler 70’s kid the first time I heard it. My mother said then that I was touched in a way she hasn’t seen. I’ve been watching people react like this to it on and off in between Bush Hogging Today. I’ve forgotten it. I stopped the Tractor, went home shut my door and cried for a while. Today I’m a care giver for my mother who doesn’t remember me or the song anymore. It just happened at the worst moment in time and but the best and I’ll never forget it

    It is called a falsetto, a method of voice production that men use to sing in a higher register than their normal voice. Many male singers use a falsetto, but Barry Gibb is considered one of the very best ever at it. And no, there was no such thing as auto-tune as it hadn't been invented yet - only talent. Please react to How Deep Is Your Love, one of many #1 hits they had. Barry uses more of his natural singing voice for most of the song, but it is one of the all-time great love songs; guaranteed to touch your soul and make you want to slow dance!

      @@MimieBatte Falsetto is a difficult technique if pitch precision and clear lyrics are achieved; the Gibbs certainly mastered it with aplomb. They adopted it fairly late in their long career, as in one song Barry hit a note using the technique, which led to their producer asking them to try using falsetto exclusively for some songs.

  • @davidd5712

    The general public didn't realize how incredibly talented the Bee Gee's were because much of the industry downplayed disco music for many decades. Now, what do you think about them? I grew up in 70's loving the Bee Gee's because I grew up in a family of musicians and singers knowing just how difficult it is to sing at this level. Their harmonies are incredible, and I have yet, to hear anyone or group with their level of ability. Sadly, Barry is the only Bee Gee to still be alive. I play their music almost daily. They are incredible.

The four brothers we know as the Gibbs - Andy, Robin, Maurice and Barry - were superstars of the 1970s, crooning legendary disco songs in unmatchable falsettos. Andy Gibb, went the solo route, while his three brothers formed the hit machine the Bee Gees. Today, only Barry Gibb remains; twins Maurice Gibb and Robin Gibb, who were born Dec. 22, 1949, died in 2003 and 2012, respectively. Mimi that was the way music was back then it touched our soul deeply and made people cry but in a good way. Celebrities now they can’t sing worth a darn, they sound like robots they’re so edited. The music back then was beautiful the 80s the 90s R&B and the voices were crystal clear on point they used real instruments in the studios which really makes a huge significant difference. The Bee Gees were and are still the greatest singers of all time. Their voice ranges and control were sick, the lead singer which is always in the middle his name is Barry and those are his two brothers they’re all males lol.

    Nobody can surpass the legendary Bee Gees in terms of songwriting and switching tones and tunes. They are incomparable every songs they compose were all hits. The middle Sir Barry Gibb and the twins Maurice and Robin. They are featured in the Book of Guiness as the most successful songwriters of all times.

    The Bee Gees were the best! Still my favorite group to this day. After the backlash against disco, American radio wouldn't play their tunes. So they continued writing hits for others, including Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, and Barbra Streisand. They had some good CDs in the 80s and 90s, but still only received respect overseas. They got a raw deal, IMO, by American radio.

    What a wonderful reaction! This is a deep rabbit hole you’ve started down & I think you’ll be amazed with all of their songs. These guys are the best with their harmonies. All three brothers have beautiful voices & all three sing lead vocals on various songs. The older brother, Barry, is primarily looked at as the leader, but Robin (on your left) has a very unique, beautiful voice. Maurice is Robin’s twin, & while he doesn’t take the lead a lot, he is a master at harmonizing. In an interview, Barry once said that Maurice instinctively knew how his voice should fit in. Unfortunately, Barry is the only one alive today.

    • @MimieBatte
      @MimieBatte  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Wow thank you so much for the information about them, i'm in deep sorrow now since only one brother is alive today, i loved that song ,it was my first time hearing and learning about them but i loved every bit of their voices, i truly believe i'm gonna enjoy their songs a lot. rip to the two brothers may they continue to sing with the angles.
      thanks alot for the time taken and for watching. lots of love

      Yes it is truly a shame that we won’t be able to look forward to new music from them. Thankfully, in this day & age, we will still be able to listen to them well into the future. I love seeing so many young people just being introduced to the music that we grew up with, it really was a wonderful time to have so many bands & music! These people had to be talented... there was no auto tune, no other enhancements to make them “superstars”. Today, kids don’t have to be talented, there’s a multitude of tricks they use.
      I am looking forward to seeing more reactions from you, it’s gonna be so much fun!

    • @MimieBatte

      In this time its almost money against talent, with money anyone can just sing, theres a lot of things to manipulate the voices, but above is what its called pure talent, indeed their music will live on for generations .
      Happy to have you hear, can't wait to react to more videos from them as i already got a number of recommendations below and all are new to me wow supper excited 😁.

    These brothers have been singing since children. Born in England then moved to Australia as small children. Made their first hit as teens there in the 60's. Moved back to England. Became wealthy as teens making hit after hit. Had hits in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Wrote and produced for their younger brother, Andy and Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Barbara Streisand...and more. Others recorded their songs like Dean Martin, Elvis, Destiny's Child, Al Green....just to name a few. Barry is the only one living. They were very humble and kind musicians. They truly were the best!
