      After giving these a look I'm curious if adding more plastic to the back impacts the heat dissipation from the built in backplate. I mean I doubt it makes a significant difference but I don't see how it would make no difference, perhaps PowerColor would be kind enough to send you one to test 🤣.
      Thats assuming they are even using the back plate in the first place on these models?

    • @alpha007org
      @alpha007org ปีที่แล้ว +5

      True. It should be easy to develop a tech demo game engine that relies heavily on VCache of the X3D CPUs. CPUs love when all the data is in the cache, so that they don't have to look into system RAM. Similarly, for Radeon specific features, like dual issue capability for a subset of common instructions. They could make it open, like theirs GPUOpen, so that modders could play with that fictional, but plausible engine. We could even be getting some indie games, designed for AMD/Radeon hardware. AMD should go into PR blitz mode, because their hardware is good, but it seems like they don't provide low level support for developers. Which is not true, but is not known to public.

    previously you couldn't activate boost plus RSR and it was a huge deal since boost never got upscaled unless the game had FSR, which was rare to see together. so this is a HUGE step for AMD as now you can upscale the Boost effect, and youre always seeing an upscaled to max resolution image, instead of boost being noticable. it's actually a huuuge step for AMD and AMD users. some games look better with RSR than FSR, i hope we can choose. RSR usually has very little ghosting if none. just bad ant-aliasing.

    Boost does not work very well for CyberPunk 2077 least on my RX 7700 XT. In Cyberpunk 2077 it makes the UI text and elements super blurry anytime you move, took me 2-3 hours of tinkering till I realized it was this feature doing it. It seems to work without any noticeable image quality effect on StarField though.
    DO NOT Use this feature with Cyberpunk 2077, something about how the game Renders also causes anything with transparency maps i.e Hair to look extra artifacted or "Noisey" with Boost turned on.

Just give me native everything and sufficient GPU grunt to cope :) Maybe if these features were exposed to the game menus it'd make more sense. You set a target FPS (default pulled from current monitor refresh rate), game runs a benchmark which includes turning those hyper features on and off as well as upping and downing quality settings and then makes one or two recommendations to closest meet the FPS target - with explanation whether it's faking (upscaling) the resolution or faking entire frames. I tried it in the Last of Us Part 1 and the same thing happened there, 10-20 FPS increase compared to using FSR 2 Quality. On my 28 inch monitor the games look basically identical with only (very) little decrease in image quality but honestly I couldn't tell much of a difference when focusing on the game and not intentionally looking for any differences.
