@@shavy9655 the jump from 4070 to 4070 super may not be worth it contrary to what many believe the best price/perf, the card is unbalanced, it's tremendously fast for 1440p but the VRAM buffer is too small and it will cause FPS inconsistencies/fluctuations, plus Frame Generation may not work as good at times you need it The worst part are newer games which swap bad quality textures to gain FPS when VRAM runs out, but you won't experience this anytime soon on 12GB's, even 3080's are okay at 1440p, at with RT+FG most of the times

I’ve used the RTX 4060 in two negative pressure, sleeper builds, due to no dedicated intake fans on the cases. Because they’re more power efficient than the RX 6600, and have better overall performance, they’re my go-to in this situational build. For what it’s worth I didn’t have price-to-performance solely in mind for these builds. Instead I opted for better thermals. And I bought them used for about $225. They pair very well with the Intel 12100/12400 and AMD 5500/5600. I’m open to suggestion if anyone has other insights. 🤙 (Edited for spelling)

Thanks for responding to my cpu question, did get the 5600 for 100 bucks. Decided on the 3060 12gb like many many other people (most popular card), got it for 200 (not 300), it can use frame generation just not nvidia's (big woop) i'm not gonna use it anyway (60fps 4k tv here). dlss is better than fsr, 12gb vram for higher textures / resolutions and only got 16gb of 3600 memory cause of this . 100% sure it will have no problem with gta6, it does very decent on starfield and alan wake 2 🤣. motherboard, ram, cpu cooler, ssd = 200 bucks, using my old power supply and case, spent 500 and that was my upgrade budget. upgrading from a rx580 8g, i7 4790, 16gb ddr3, so you gotta think of the 3060/12 may not be slow to everyone. i think its a beast and was a good deal.

About 3 weeks ago I got a Refurbished AMD Radeon 7900 XT at Micro Center in Charlotte for $599. They only had 2 in stock and it was the actual AMD branded one so I snagged one up. I am definitely satisfied with getting it especially at that price and they still gave me all the warranties that come with a new one.
I've seen the 7900 xtx go for $740usd several times although it was sold out almost instantly. Hopefully there will be more of these types of deals during the amazon October days
Does it really make no sense to get a 4080 super? The only thing that hurts with the card is the 16gb vram and even that is enough for all current games on 4K. There are games like Hogwarts that come close but only because of poor optimization. Games that look fantastic like rdr2 use maybe 8-10gb of vram in 4K. My pain threshold for gpus is 1000 dollars where it currently fits in perfectly, I don't think the 5080 which is only coming out in a few months is worth it anymore, invidia is now alone in the high end and so prices may be quite high. Even if the 5080 is 30-40% faster I suspect a starting price of 1500 dollars, and that's too much money for me. I can't imagine it only costing 1200-1300 at launch when you look at what the 4080 cost at launch. The 4070 ti super is better in terms of price performance but can't play every game in 4K compared to the 4080 super. What do you think? Am I wrong with my assumption and is it still worth waiting a few months if you want to buy something now?
1000 dollars is about right, over that i would consider that only if you just have alot of F U money to blow, normally over a grand i would put that money into other computer accesories like a Steering Wheel, VR Headset, Three Monitors, Bigger Workstation Tables, 7.1 Home Stereo Subwoofer for the PC, Projector, Leather Comfy Office Chair, More Games for the Library, bigger and multiples 3.5 20TB NAS Hard Drives, HOTAS Flight Setup, etc
That's the PowerColor Fighter which has mediocre cooling and I don't recommend especially for hot AMD Radeon cards. Go for a PC Hellhound, Sapphire or even Gigabyte.

7800xt owner here. can Confirm 7800xt is a beast at its price and you for sure get 1440p at high/ultra settings. im hoping it last me 3-5 years.
Overall, of all the gpu from AMD, Nvgreedia and Intel, I personally thin the 7800xt and 7900GRE are the best 1440p Gpus in the current market. no reason to get anything higher then that. plus they are priced amazingly well
It will last longer, i had 1070 for 8 years until i upgraded to used 3070ti for 330€ this year.
I literally just two days ago grabbed a XFX Merc 319 Black for $450 brand new. Loving it so far.
I think AMD will never make a card like a 6800xt ever again. This is like the 1080ti of AMD.
It tradeblows and sometimes beat the new 7800xt and totally annihilates the 3080 which was its competitor as well as the 4070. You can literally undervolt it with no performance loss and runs at 65°c for

unfortunately it doesn`t fair that well against the 7800xt as you imply, if you check the latest games tested on hardware unboxed, it barely matches the 7700xt. I think this is due the lack of driver optimization which is unfortunate because the card is not that old
it doesnt beat the 7800xt at anything and it costs the same.

Weird to see a full blown hate for the 4070 and a praise to the gods for the 4070s. I got myself a 4070 at 400$ used and a 4070 at 500$ new. Of course, it 's slightly faster but that all. Same memory , same bus etc. It's certainly not night and day.
Only 4070 Ti SUPER is worth over 4070 if you're willing to spend
Yeah it's weird what he says. If you can get the 4070 non s for a good price it is technically better because the 12GB VRAM don't run out as fast as with the higher performance of the Super variant.
Tbf here in germany the non super makes no sense since the super variant sells for as low as 549€ and the non super costs 529€.

Used 6800XT is a proper 1440p rasterized card
@@shavy9655 the jump from 4070 to 4070 super may not be worth it contrary to what many believe the best price/perf, the card is unbalanced, it's tremendously fast for 1440p but the VRAM buffer is too small and it will cause FPS inconsistencies/fluctuations, plus Frame Generation may not work as good at times you need it
The worst part are newer games which swap bad quality textures to gain FPS when VRAM runs out, but you won't experience this anytime soon on 12GB's, even 3080's are okay at 1440p, at with RT+FG most of the times

I’ve used the RTX 4060 in two negative pressure, sleeper builds, due to no dedicated intake fans on the cases. Does it really make no sense to get a 4080 super? The only thing
that hurts with the card is the 16gb vram and even that is enough
for all current games on 4K. There are games like Hogwarts that
come close but only because of poor optimization. Games that
look fantastic like rdr2 use maybe 8-10gb of vram in 4K. My pain
threshold for gpus is 1000 dollars where it currently fits in
perfectly, I don't think the 5080 which is only coming out in a few
months is worth it anymore, invidia is now alone in the high end
and so prices may be quite high. Even if the 5080 is 30-40%
faster I suspect a starting price of 1500 dollars, and that's too
much money for me. I can't imagine it only costing 1200-1300 at
launch when you look at what the 4080 cost at launch. The 4070
ti super is better in terms of price performance but can't play
every game in 4K compared to the 4080 super.
What do you think? Am I wrong with my assumption and is it still
worth waiting a few months if you want to buy something now?
1000 dollars is about right, over that i would consider that only if you just have alot of F U money to blow, normally over a grand i would put that money into other computer accesories like a Steering Wheel, VR Headset, Three Monitors, Bigger Workstation Tables, 7.1 Home Stereo Subwoofer for the PC, Projector, Leather Comfy Office Chair, More Games for the Library, bigger and multiples 3.5 20TB NAS Hard Drives, HOTAS Flight Setup, etc
