Nurse should have also focus on the Hiccups of the baby from more than 9 mins.
why they are not talking about Hiccups?
Hiccups are going on and still Baby Pacifier is still in the baby's mouth.

As a 53 yr old with Crohn's and other severe pain issues I have ALWAYS been a thumb sucker for pain relief. (Not so much for sucking but for pressure on the roof of the mouth) I don't recommend starting it as a habit but I have helped so many people whose babies were in pain, especially digestive issues. If you press your middle finger on the roof of their mouth and stroke their cheeks with your pointer and ring finger I'm sure you'll see the relief. I don't know all of the scientific reasons, other than dopamine, serotonin & endorphins being released. It's worth trying, plus you don't need a bottle or pacifier, just clean fingers :)

    What works best for colic?
Traditionally, pediatricians prescribe drugs based on simethicone to relieve colic - “Espumizan”, “Bobotik”, etc., dill water, tea with fennel for newborns, a heating pad or a diaper heated with an iron and placed on the tummy.

In south india traditionally we give certain herbs to infants after bath everyday...somethings like neem leaves, garlic, pepper, cumin, carrom seeds, white flag(called vasambu or pillaivalarpan)root, tulsi, nutmeg&one more seed known as maasikkai, etc
They are chosen each day by expert grandmas who decide the herb depending on the infant's condition each day...they rarely get colic pains...
After bath infants are shown in smoke from an aromatic herb called sambirani...this protects them from any lung infection...
My mother recommended only breastfeed for upto 6 months..not even water..to feed whenever baby cried...no time table...
But alas such traditional knowledge is being lost ..my mom was capable of diagnosing the condition by the smell of the baby,by feeling how heavy the baby was when lifting, baby's behaviour like twisting&stretching too often &crying etc..

    • @Xessa82
      @Xessa82 ปีที่แล้ว +17

I'm sorry in advance if my reply offends you in anyway as I know this is clearly something done in your culture, but a lot of what you stated here is not at all safe for babies. First off, grandmas are not expects by any means when it comes too babies or children. The actually experts are pediatricians, medical staff and scientists who work with babies, study babies and develop treatments for babies. While grandparents can be helpful when raising babies, you should always double check with your child's pediatrician before using any type of home remedy recommended by someone that raised babies many many years ago. There's a reason things are done differently with babies no that they were when grandmas were young parents and that's because medicine constantly evolves as we learn new things like what's harmful to babies or could out them in danger. I don't know how these herbs are given to these babies but I really hope its not something they're ingesting. Babies under 6 months of age should have absolutely nothing but formula or breast milk. Certain solid foods like pureed fruits or baby cereals may be given earlier than 6 months but its really best to wait since their digestive system is not fully developed yet. Giving infants solid foods like pureed fruits, veggies, juice, etc to early can cause lots of digestive issues later in life. Another thing to mention, babies under 6 months of age should absolutely under no circumstances be given water to drink. Babies don't need to drink water through out the day like adults do. Babies get all the water the need from drinking breast milk and formula. Number one, water is empty calories that contains none of the nutrients and things babies need in order to grow. With their tiny stomachs, giving them even q little but of water will fill them up keeping them from getting to drink their formula or breast milk casing them t miss out on the things they need to grow and develop properly. Number 2, giving water is highly dangerous as it can literally cause water intoxication where it dilutes the sodium in their blood stream. When their sodium becomes too low it can cause seizures, coma or even permanent brain damage. There have been cases where parents were having trouble affording formula for their baby so the would add extra water to their bottles diluting the formula to try to make it last longer which caused babies to die from this. Babies older than 6 months can have small amounts of water but you have to start off with a very small amount it can be gradually increased over multiple months. I'm not sure if you mistyped about the aromatic herb sambirani but if I'm understanding correctly, are you trying to say that babies are showered in smoke or that the herb is burned near them so that they're in the middle of the smoke? If so then I'm sorry but it doesn't matter if an herb is being ude d or anything else, smoke is absolutely harmful for babies and would not protect their lungs. Smoke is extremely dangerous for a baby's lungs which are very sensitive. Breathing in any kind of smoke particles could cause all kinds of lung problems like infections , difficulty breeding ,etc. Its truly scary that people are subjecting infants to so many harmful things just because their ancestors did that.

Yes and also we are very particular as to the food that a new mom takes especially for the first 45 days.Though the doctors say that what a mother takes doesn't effect a baby ,I can by personal experience say traditional Indian way of diet for new moms if followed prevents colic in babies.Potatoes, very oily and spicy food are all best avoided.

Mothers Diet if she is breastfeeding can affect colic . I don’t care what science says about milk being made of blood and whatever. I have my 3rd kid now and yes gas is always there but if I eat spicy food and fresh vegetables citrus fruits and bloaty foods it gets painful for her. Also stimulants like cola coffee or chocolate hype her up and don’t let her sleep nice.
U can help with your diet and make your life easier. Remember it’s not forever their digestive tract matures by three or four months of age and then u will be able to eat stuff again. 🎉

And he's getting to much milk to fast at feeding. Alittle bit more often may help. Poor little fella please watch his symptoms as he gets older for IBD. Just my idea. Its very painful 💔

Yea this is definitely not a good idea to give newborns or babies of any age soda. Not sure who told you this but this was terrible advice. They should absolutely only have formula or breast milk under 6 months of age. Their tummies are not developed enough yet to be able to digest things other then formula or breast milk and giving things other than that can cause them lots of GI problems later in life including into adulthood. They make gas drops that are specifically for babies that are perfectly safe to take as well as something called gripe water that can help with this issue as well. Giving carbonated sugary drinks is absolutely not advised for children under 24 months of age due to them containing added sugars. There is zero scientific evidence that sprite, 7up or any other soft drink is effective for treating gas and in most cases will make it much worse. Also at this age their tummies are extremely tiny so giving them soda is is filling them with garbage they don't need and will cause them to miss out on getting the things they do need from formula or breast milk. While 7up or sprite may help adults, our digestive tract and stomach a are fully formed and capable of handling these things. Definitely a horrible idea for newborns but all babies under 24 months. If the child's gas seemed too improve after giving soda it was a coincidence or because the effects of sugar in them may have temporarily distracted them from their pain. I really wish people would stop giving uneducated and potentially dangerous advice to parents that may not know any better.

When I have my babies they would get us to give them a half a teaspoon of sugar in water in between formula. If they were constipated. Hey man I got a little bit bigger you could put a half a teaspoon of dark Karo syrup in their formula bottle. My mom did the same thing with us so it didn't hurt anything

this video is a small cut from a longer video where they explained that the baby had very bad torticollis and making him suck on the pacifier forces his lower jaw to shift and release some of the muscle tension. Usually yes, don't force a baby to suck on a pacifier, but they are experts who did it for a reason dw :) Them trying to relieve gas pain was more of a tangent to the main focus of the baby's problem which was torticollis.

They weren’t forcing it. It kept falling out as they do most of the time. Especially if the baby is moving around a lot and fussing.

If you've ever had a colicky baby, you know that it takes time and it takes trying lots of different methods. Nothing works immediately. And some days it feels like nothing works at all. Their digestive systems are so immature they just don't work well. And, of cute, any time your baby is upset, mom or dad's arms are best.
