      “Rule of Rose” is a psychological horror video game released on PlayStation 2 in 2006. It is known for its deep and complex story, which deals with difficult themes such as lost innocence, cruelty, and bullying among children. The game is full of heavy symbolism and often uses fantasy elements to express the inner psychology of the characters.
      The character of Clara in "Rule of Rose" has a special and unforgettable story. She is known in the game as "Mermaid Princess" or "Mermaid". But instead of making her a romantic or beautiful character as in traditional tales, she is portrayed in a disturbing and painful way.
      - **Why is her stomach sewn up?**: Clara's sewn stomach can be interpreted as a symbol of the physical abuse or violence she has been exposed to in the past. It can also indicate a state of weakness and a feeling of being torn or shattered internally.
      - **Why is she vomiting?**: Clara vomiting could symbolize a feeling of self-loathing or purity from within. In the context of the game, it may also reflect her attempts to get rid of something unwanted or toxic within herself.
      - **Why are her legs tied with ropes from the ceiling?**: This part of Clara’s depiction adds to the feeling of torture and punishment. It shows that she is trapped or imprisoned in some way, perhaps not only physically but also emotionally and psychologically.
      - **Why are there fish gills on her ribs?**: The gills on her ribs reinforce the impression that she is a mermaid, but they also show her strange and painful transformation. It could symbolize the feeling that she does not belong to any world - neither quite the land nor quite the sea.
      - **Avatar**:
      - **Her stitched stomach** could represent pain and abuse that is completely irreparable.
      **Her vomiting** could symbolize her rejection of emotional or physical toxins.
      - **tying her legs** shows a state of detention and helplessness.
      **Gills** express the feeling of alienation and lack of belonging.
      All of these elements combine to present a troubled and complex character who carries a lot of pain and self-punishment. Clara's story echoes many of the darker themes that "Rule of Rose" deals with, making it one of the most intelligent and thought-provoking games of that generation. And The mermaid princess story in games and other media often holds deeper meanings and themes that reflect aspects of the human condition. The classic tale of a mermaid princess has been reimagined in various forms, and each interpretation may offer its own insights and reflections on the human experience.
      One prevalent theme in the mermaid princess story is the tension between freedom and restriction. The idea of a creature that is bound to the sea, yet yearns for life on land, can symbolize the struggle for personal autonomy and the desire to break free from societal or familial constraints. This struggle for freedom is a universal theme that resonates with people from all walks of life.
      Another common theme explored in the mermaid princess story is the idea of sacrifice and longing. In many versions of the tale, the mermaid princess must make sacrifices in order to pursue her desires, often at great personal cost. This can serve as a metaphor for the sacrifices and compromises that people make in their own lives, as well as the yearning for something beyond their reach.
      The mermaid princess story also frequently delves into the complexities of identity and belonging. The mermaid, torn between two worlds, grapples with questions of identity and acceptance. This theme can resonate with people who have felt like outsiders or who have experienced a sense of displacement in their own lives. The mermaid's journey to find her place in the world can offer insights into the universal human experience of seeking belonging and connection.
      Additionally, the mermaid princess story often explores the power of love and the nature of human relationships. Whether it is the love between the mermaid and a human prince or the bonds she shares with her family under the sea, the story often delves into the depths of human emotions, highlighting the ways in which love can transcend boundaries and bring people together.
      Furthermore, the mermaid princess story frequently touches on themes of empathy and understanding. The mermaid's unique perspective allows her to see the world from a different angle, and her interactions with humans and sea creatures alike can reveal the importance of compassion and open-mindedness. This can remind audiences of the significance of embracing diversity and appreciating the perspectives of others.
      Ultimately, the mermaid princess story in games and other media serves as a multifaceted reflection of the human experience, offering insights into the universal themes of freedom, sacrifice, identity, love, and empathy. By delving into these deeper meanings, players and audiences can gain a greater understanding of the complexities of life and find resonance with their own experiences and emotions..The story of the mermaid princess and her unrequited love for the human prince is a poignant and tragic tale that touches upon themes of love, longing, and sacrifice. The passage you've shared captures the profound sorrow and sense of isolation that the mermaid princess experiences, even in the face of her enduring affection for the prince.
      The enduring love of the mermaid princess for the human prince, despite his inability to reciprocate her feelings, speaks to the universal experience of unrequited love and the emotional toll it can take on an individual. Her unfulfilled longing for companionship and acceptance resonates with the human experience of yearning for connection and understanding, despite facing rejection or indifference.
      The portrayal of the mermaid princess as aging and ultimately dying alone underscores the profound sense of loneliness and abandonment that she experiences throughout her life. This depiction serves as a powerful reminder of the universal fear of growing old and being left alone, as well as the poignant reality of unfulfilled desires and unmet emotional needs.
      The poignant declaration, "I am yours, even in death," encapsulates the depth of the mermaid princess's devotion and serves as a poignant expression of her enduring love for the prince, transcending even the bounds of mortality. This declaration highlights the timeless and unwavering nature of her love, offering a glimpse into the profound emotional depths of the mermaid princess's experience.
      Through this passage, the mermaid princess's story evokes empathy and introspection, prompting reflection on the complexities of love, sacrifice, and the human longing for connection and acceptance. It invites contemplation on the enduring nature of love and the powerful impact of unrequited affection on individual identity and emotional well-being.
      Overall, the passage you've shared offers a poignant exploration of the mermaid princess's emotional journey, inviting readers to engage with themes of love, loneliness, and the enduring nature of affection. It serves as a reminder of the universal human experiences that transcend the boundaries of myth and fantasy, resonating with audiences through the power of empathy and emotional resonance.

    • @rayitod4792
      @rayitod4792 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      @@David_Hypnos there is no doubt she was abused. Just look for the clip when she is "cleaning" the floor with Hoffman, obviously she is doing a BJ but Jennifer can't understand that being a child. And the bed in the room of the mermaid princess is the same bed in Hoffman's room. Her monster form has tied up her legs to keep them close, and right before we see Hoffman touching someone in his bed just to a second later confront the mermaid princess, who is Clara. I dont know what game you played, but is pretty obvious that she was abused. Now, that being said, obviously the person who wrote the first comment knows nothing about the story and was just making a comment about a boss in an horror game that yes, is strange if you dont know the subtext.

    Wow what's your strategy! You didn't use any health items and took very little damage. It seems like you were able to run up to her and stab her whenever you wanted. I'm at this part and have rage quit. I'm using the pipe but still get hit and puked on. I have lots of health items but I'm not quick enough to use them sometimes.

      Well I beat this freak and it felt great! Once I realized it was going to take like 30 hits and 10 minutes it was too bad. Run in stab her a couple times and get out. I did use most of my health items which I spent awhile collecting with Brown. It was like an RPG lol. I haven't played it since. I needed a break. Maybe I'll play today since you reminded me.

    • @fireorb2
      @fireorb2 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      luckyfoxcandy555 My theory is that Jennifer is in fact a younger girl who is a little older than the other girls and as such, is bullied by them. In other words, she's not actually as old as we see her in game. That's just how she images herself. It's also the only explanation for how young children can bully the hell out of an adult. Also, the reason why she fights those "monsters" is because, they're apart of her imagination. In other words, it's Jeniffer's way of coping with the bullying she's facing from the other girls. Notice how in previous videos we suddenly see her back in the orphanage, that's because it's her imagination. Heck the name of the club "red crayon aristocrats" it something only children would come up with.

    • @ishnainlove
      @ishnainlove 9 ปีที่แล้ว +59

      The reason why it's considered the scariest, it's not because of the slasher type of terror you usually see in other survival horror games but because of how much it can psychologically disturb your peace of mind. Little girls being malicious to the point of cruelty and backstabbing out of impetuous whims.
      Not to mention the hidden imply that at least one girl has been sexually abused by one of the male adults of the Orphanage.

    • @cakenoniabaker9210

      Ishna In Love Even as a psychological horror game it is still lacking. At most the game is simply disturbing, but not scary.

    • @ishnainlove
      @ishnainlove 9 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      CakeNonia Baker True, but anything psychologically disturbing is categorized as psychological horror. I think they emphasized the high criminal level of oppressive bullying done by little girls, breaking the stereotype (girls are made up of sugar and spice). I think this is the first ever game that tried presenting the darker side of this particular stereotype known to be so innocent and wholesome, that it earned a spot in the genre psychological horror game category. It wasn't the jumpscares that made this game scary. It was this game's ability to break the fourth wall via exposing the darker side of children and sublime sexual molestation of adolescent girls.
      Now, that's scary.

Because to you, as a man, her tied legs don’t tell you that she would rather keep her legs shut and how much it truly affects her character, her scars on the chest don’t tell you her pure resentment for her growing body and self hatred, her gills to you don’t look like obvious self harm scars, her scar on the neck as a complete inability to speak out against abuse inflicted on her, her scar on the stomach does not imply that she had a C-section performed, like??
      If you don’t get it maybe it’s not for you lmao god bless you’ll never experience any of that
