2007 g35 sedan with 134k and I've had to just replace the control arms, steering pump, rack and pinion, shocks and struts along with all fluids. The throttle body got cleaned and wouldn't reset the idle when trying to re-learn so it got replaced as well. It's garage kept and the interior is kept clean and seats hydrated so no interior issues, even with the Arizona heat.
Great videos, I have a g35 2003... 11 years with the it, I want to give it some love. It has been with me in the good times and the bad times, so just want to do some mods... What type if seats did you get? And music window won't got down, I'll be checking the motor soon. Funny all those problems are the ones of the my g53, but is a good car
I myself just recently got an 04 g35 as a project car and one the very first things I noticed is the previous owner took out the thermostat. So when I bought a new one and inserted it with the complete housing the car overheated immediately. No holes, no leaks, no bubbles. Thermostat works fine any advice will help!
Switching over to crank windows and I only have one seat in car and will be placing it 2 self fold and look my car has been down for 6 months due to electrical shortage and I assume kill switch after it was stolen to do donuts. Ever have problem where it wants to start but not even gas will rev?
My 350GT has done 97,000kms and have had the Radiator Leak, Engine, Transmission, Diff, Rear Subframe Mounts fail, replaced all with stronger Aftermarket parts. The Lower Control Arm bushes appear cracked, but haven't failed inspection yet so those will have to be replaced with Urethane Bushes. The upgraded engine mounts, transmission, and solid diff bushes makes the car make more buzzy noises, but everything feels nice and tight and solid which is fine for this type of car. Also the dash is cracked, would like to remove it and have it redone in Alcantara in the future. Hoping it would be a nice reliable fun car, till I can upgrade to a late model Mustang GT in manual, I'm more of a V8 person but yea this car has been a different experience for sure and I dunno how the handling compares to a newer Mustang with IRS but am quite happy with the handling, and fat tyres. Good thing the Manual G35/350GT seem to only be going up in price.
You didn't even mention the leaky valve cover gasket, catalytic converter problems, or the leaky sunroof among many more things. These cars are fun to drive and beautiful, but they're a pain in the ass and a money pit. It's kinda like dating a 9 or a 9.5 😂
Quick question my g climate control system not turning on anymore and it has the aftermarket stereo/dash I was in there switching the stereo for a different one put everything back in now my ac not working what do you think is the problem maybe needs new ac button motherboard?
Is there any power to the head unit and ac controls? If so, check the blower. If there is no power to the ac then it could be a short somewhere. It’s hard to say with these, lots to troubleshoot.
Besides what I go over in the video, likely gonna need some new shocks or coilovers, run through replacing all the fluids, depending on how the previous owner drove the car will determine the engine quality. But all in all just your typical replacements with a project car.
I have a 2003 g35 sedan with 105k and has none of these problems. Besides regular maintenance I had to replace the tailpipe and the pipe from the catalytic converted to the muffler. I replaced the light bulbs of the analog clock myself. According to my mechanic I may need wheel bearings in the feature and that is all. My car looks like brand new inside and out but I do take care of it.
Had mine (03 coupe) from 06-21 and a lot of these issues are familiar, but not all. I had the door issue but it did stay at max open, and the thing puked oil when it got about 200K miles (seals everywhere were going). The car had the original auto transmission to the end and no sign it was going either. My car (no offense) was in far better condition when I traded it in, and the interior and exterior were much cleaner. The driver seat was worn on the door side supports and under your ass, but all the other seats were great and the adjustments still worked (some of the switches were sticky but not bad). The interior fittings and door/dash panels had no cracks or missing pieces. The fabric inserts on the doors were losing their adhesion but I could tuck them in and use some glue to keep them there. The original HVAC/CD unit was replaced once when it had the "jamming" issue, but then I just gave up and used an iPod/phone and the radio and I never got a aftermarket unit. My exterior was great with the exception of the black rubberized door trim which oxidized and persistent rust spots in the rear wheel wells that were hard to keep clean in this car. Paint was great until the end but I waxed it frequently. The damn window motor issue was a bitch and I had the windows and locks go out randonly and then start working again out of the blue. The window would sometimes have a mind of it's own when the door closed and caused stress when the window decided to stay half open and not close at night. The headlights yellowed but I got them cleaned and they stayed decent. Besides the oil issues, my gauges worked, my idiot lights stayed off, and the clock and trip gauge worked til the end. Mechanically it was relaible besides the oil issues, and I think I had a rear end issue but nothing else very significant besides wear and tear in the usual places for an old car. I have no regrets owning this car but I would BEWARE buying one now as so many kids beat these to pieces. If you can find a stock original owner G, it's probably a good investment as the car is beautiful to look at.
hi i have a 2004 g35 coupe have a after market radio clarion nx604 i think it is n it shows the main screen but wont show main menu to play music etc… any ideas ? i try pressing power, aux volume on wheel and nothing just bounced from clarion to smartvoice screen then back to clarion screen thanks
No offense but I feel even luckier then😅. I got my g in almost mint condition. Low mileage. All it needs is new axles, rack and pinion, rear main seal, tie rods and ball joints. Other then that my interior and exterior is mint
Very accurate, you forgot fuel pump issues tho . Very common

Great video pretty much spot on with these issues. I had a majority if these issues got most of them fixed up so far.
Appreciate that man! Yeah it’s a solid checklist to start with any G.
This is a non maintained car. I ve g35 2004, and everything is working perfect, I don't have any issue with it.
Yeah it definitely had multiple owners lol
For sure all pretty simple fixes but people let them add up. Good video and showing the exact location

The car is overheating? How's the cooling system? The fans kicking on?
@@legacyspeed2031 yes they are. Very strange situation
Could be a blown head gasket or a bad radiator

Crank windows, haven't seen that before on the G. If it won't start it's hard to say, it could be many things.
i got a 2005 g35x and honestly i cannot rely to anything you've said
Great video, trading a dirt bike for an 06m 6sp

I haven’t found a way yet, if I do I’ll make a video!
Yes there is @bedistinct makes a video about it
Update: He does, but I decided just to buy a new door stopper off ebay and it works great.
That car is BEAT, you bought that from a scrub

@@BoiBoiGTAit all depends on how these cars are maintained. Yeah they have stupid small issues but engines are very reliable nonetheless
