I own a 2003 G35 and I love it. The biggest and common problem that I have had with my car is Oil consumption. A lo of us end up installing a vented oil catch can to help alleviate this problem and like u said the paint. As far as exhaust sound. I found that HKS with resonated X pipe gives it the best sound but if you like the stock sound just a bit louder test pipes will do the trick. Other than that, it comes with pretty decent features from factory for its age. Like Sporty heated seats, Dual A/C, HID projector head lights and Brembo brakes.
I’ve owned a ‘06 g35x (attesa-ETs awd) and I’m loving how it handles. The long wheelbase and amazing weight distribution paired with awd is mind blowing to someone who has always had American RWD cars that survive off torque and bolt ons.

Looks like i lucked out on my 03 Coupe, paint was pretty mint, headlights were mint as well. As for reliability goes, I had to replace the rear wheels bearings, thats all. It has 165k when i sold it.
Lucky. I've had my 350z for about 8 months now. I've put about 15k km on it. Had to replace coils, spark plugs, altenator, front hubs and bearings, brake pads and rotors all 4, parking brake shoes and hardware, o2 sensors, maf sensor, camshaft sensors, and crankshaft sensors, end links, valve covers, window motors and regulators, door locks, door actuators, door handles. Pretty sure I'm forgetting some stuff

@@michytoonasty4607 surprisingly good. Most people who think they're bad haven't heard one in person. They're a super solid budget option and I haven't been in one that drones either..
@MichyTooNasty I have a muffler delete, and for the cost: it gives you like 40lbs weight reduction just taking out the muffler, and I left the stock resonators etc so it's not full straight pipe. Had them weld back the original tips cuz I like how they look. And it sounds good. I get some nice subtle crackles or gurgles when accelerating on the freeway. But I wouldn't recommend going full straight pipe. Imo just the muffler delete itself is good unless you are ready to invest in a nice exhaust like Motordyne or a less expensive brand like HKS
The ride is bumpy but it’s part of the fun for me. I don’t even drive with music on most of the time because I love the sounds she makes on her own. I laughed my butt off when you said “and sometimes you feel like you’re gonna die” because that is this car to a T but to me it just makes me feel like I’m in Fast n Furious even just going 70 mph 😂 mine is a black sedan 2006 g35 witb infrared interior lights and oh ya 278K miles 😎 She’s still goin 🏎 previous owner definitely tried modding and gave up halfway through though… lol
Oh and these cars can easily last you 200k miles if you take care of them. I knew multiple people with their G's at 160k + and the engines weren't even ticking or anything. just very reliable. VQ's are great for that. Its funny you talk about the paint and headlights though. I had one with 150k miles which is high asf and the roof had very bad paint. the rest of the car wasn't bad at all, but it didnt have some clear bra on it. the headlights were really bad lol. so yellow.
A weird thing about my G35 is the fact that the fuel gauge acts up, even after you clean the fuel filter it still shows incorrectly. Don't even get me started on the oil dipstick..... or oil burning on the DE's.
I just bought an 04 G35X and that damn dip stick is annoying af. Makes it hard to read accurately. Then the burning oil issue is ridiculous. I changed the oil last month and have already had to add 2 quarts in it. I thought I had an oil leak. Checked and there's no major leaks. Noticed there's a small leak somewhere as I see it on the sub frame. I'm thinking please don't let it be a rear main seal. It's burning oil like crazy, but I don't ever see any smoke coming from the exhaust. Not sure if an oil catch can would help or possibly using a thicker weight? I may try some 10w40 and see if that helps. It does have 202k though. Engine runs smooth, it's actually quiet. No ticking or knocking noises. Just whenever I run it a little spirited and make a 150 mile round-trip I have to add a quarter quart in it the next day. It appears to be a common issue, so that's good to hear I guess.
i would recommend being more informed on the machanical aspects of what your reviewing. not just aesthetics. for example why tire fitmen and suspension modifications are difficult with these cars. G looks good tho, thumbs up to that.
Agreed. I know they did an in depth video of the pros and cons of owning a g but for the people like me who need very constant reassurance and can’t have enough information on big purchases like this it’s nice to just get little tidbits of mechanical information on top of what’s already been put out there
So true lol even when I don’t have my foot on the gas it accelerates and boosts forward randomly. It’s so cute she’s always ready to smoke them corollas
Great video. Only thing I don't get is the bad paint theory, my 07 G35 Coupe 6mt is entirely original paintwise, rust free and still shines like new in 2021. Mind you this one was garage kept and rarely driven most of its life. I do however see lots of them here in Toronto that look like total crap due to owners mistreating them and getting cheap or shady paintwork done. The great ones are kept away from the elements like an attraction in a museum I guess.
When it comes to the paint issue, I feel like it's a Nissan problem in general. I see many nissan cars that aren't that old and the clear coat is faded and rust spots
I've owned 4 G coupes the 1st a manual I did stillen exhaust with y pipe n test pipes n headers sounded extremely loud. Injen cold air intake. Performance tune. Changed the pulleys. Put a Stage 3 clutch and fly wheel. Rims coils and body kit. The 2nd was a 37 ipl left it stock with rims exhaust sounded great. The 3rd a 35 only resonator n muffler delete rims n coils. Now another 35 stock But Might go Borla exhaust this time n we'll c wat else
I think people shit on these cars too much. I bought mine for $4850 w/ an extra set of wheels on brand new winter tires and 115k miles. It’s so fun to drive, has a good exhaust note if you do it right, and just looks good. Try to find any RWD car that looks this good in this price range, or even a few thousand more. Add in the fact that they’re very reliable for a 17 year old car with a community that’s done and fixed everything at this point, and I’m proud to have a car that looks good, drives great, and doesn’t break the bank
Worked at a fast food restaurant to afford My first car. It was and 03 g35 coupe stanced MT With 103,000 miles. (Keys were on a Corona beer lanyard lol) ran the piss out of it. Blew up an engine and a transmission. Loved it to death. Sold it for $1800 to a drug dealer. So much fun for the money.
These cars are great to own and just have fun with BUT it can get a little expensive modding these, just be aware..that exhaust isn't loud at all lol I'm running Megan test pipes, z1 y pipe, z1 mid pipe to z1 single...I can show you loud 🤣 but its a real deep good loud with still a nice VQ rumble tone
I bought a G37 sedan, and I love it but you’re right about the paint and headlights for sure 😂😂, mine is a 2012 and the roof paint looks like cow spots up close.. but I don’t have the time or money rn to get it painted like I want so it’s gonna stay there for a minute. But other than that it’s my baby.
Happy belated Bday man! I just got a G35X last month. It's the 04 with the VQ35DE, wish it was the HR motor. I'm going to eventually plastidip mine. I'm going to hydradip the emblems and trim first. You can do it relatively cheap and by yourself. Best thing is if you don't like it, then you can just peel it off. When done right it looks amazing. It's easy to do and they have pearls and Metallics. Look into it
The only thing I don’t like about the air set up (Air Lift 3H two compressors) on my STI hatchback is the compressor noise. Unfortunately that’s the air/hatchback life.
VQ35HR and VQ37HR are highly sought after because they can produce power that can kill V8s plus...therefore they are true race vehicles....I attend car meets regularly and 40% of the cars you will see show off are in fact VQ series motors
I do like Alex. But he's the Only person I've EVER heard Bitch about how the VQ sounds. Its one of the Best sounding V6s. The only NA V6 comparable to the VQ comes in a bimmer. Im a V8 guy and this is the only 6 I'm proud to drive.

Been talking about painting mine for 3 years now, just finally dropped it off at the body shop 2 days ago so I’m hella excited
Pretty sure I'm forgetting some stuff
yeah i got my g almost a year ago and can honestly say my paint was by no means awful but it deffinitely wasnt perfect, tons of little spots on the hood and the headlights were great, they were aftermarket headlights so honestly expected them to be good but after i took it to a car wash i fucked the headlights up and now im sure some of the seal is off and it looks like shitty dead skin lol
@@TheSaif78 bro you got a lemon
melk well your first mistake was taking it to a car wash. Please tell me it was touch less
@@paiton6524 nah it wasnt :) ive never taken my car to the wash just because I do it by hand almost every weekend but yeah i fucked up big time w a car wash. Nobody in my family has really ever had problems at them so i said fuck it
he’s talking crap abt the car the whole video 🤦🏻♂️
Wtf lol y’all get hurt
you didnt watch it then
I sense it a lil too
I literally just got my 04 g35 today, I can’t wait
That outro was impeccable.
lol lol love the rant at the end walking away hahah
Yeah that is probably my favorite part of the getting behind the wheel and the opposite lanes series lol
My cousin is in the middle of dropping a 2jz in one of these 😂😂
How did it go?
surprisingly enough the vq35 actually flows much better than the 2j, if you built a vq you'd make much more power than a 2j
I really like this series, love seeing the little quirks of a persons car-baby. Keep them coming!
Just took my son up to Appleton WI to pick up his G35 he loves it I'll probably buy one myself.
G’s all the way! They do look more sleeker plus I love the hips on my G37. As long as you don’t straight pipe it and buy quality parts, you’ll be very happy.
How about a muffler delete?
Had many Nissans over the years and all had the paint issues but the best one as far as the paint is my 05 G. Diamond graphite still gleaming.
I had one with 150k miles which is high asf and the roof had very bad paint. the rest of the car wasn't bad at all, but it didnt have some clear bra on it. the headlights were really bad lol. so yellow.
278k on my g35 and going strong buddy 💪 VQ gang 4 life
Super duper loved this episode and it's obvious by my profile pic 😁
A weird thing about my G35 is the fact that the fuel gauge acts up, even after you clean the fuel filter it still shows incorrectly.
Don't even get me started on the oil dipstick..... or oil burning on the DE's.
Mine does the same thing, it goes up and down randomly and its so annoying
Lmao mine too bro it pisses me off sometimes have ran out of gas bc if it too
@@brandonbaltazar9613 yeah you can't trust it lol
Mine does the same thing and for some reason when I got a new maf sensor it fixed it😂😂
I just bought an 04 G35X and that damn dip stick is annoying af.
Agreed. I know they did an in depth video of the pros and cons of owning a g but for the people like me who need very constant reassurance and can’t have enough information on big purchases like this it’s nice to just get little tidbits of mechanical information on top of what’s already been put out there
These vids are the best
G35s always seem like they wanna race 👀
So true lol even when I don’t have my foot on the gas it accelerates and boosts forward randomly. It’s so cute she’s always ready to smoke them corollas
Oh yes. The Nissan skyline that everyone has
Bro u drive a stanced station wagon😭 , leave us American skyline owners alone
@@ig1hunnitk.a229 aye aint nothing wrong with a stanced wagon lmfaoo
IG 1hunnitk.a station wagons look cool as fuck
IG 1hunnitk.a not even my car but go off
Wagons are cool, stanced cars are not. (my opinion)
The g35 is an amazing machine.
That g35 would ride better if i was driving it. Nice car bro
Cream headliner was standard on all G’s no matter if you had black or white interior
Hard work pays off
That fitment thoooooooo, looks good
I’m still having a hard time understanding the stanced look.
this car uglier than stock lmao
Always loved the sound of the VQ exhaust..
Makes me smile every time I turn it on
@@renegadetherapper that’s fire what year is yours
Great video. Only thing I don't get is the bad paint theory, my 07 G35 Coupe 6mt is entirely original paintwise, rust free and still shines like new in 2021. Mind you this one was garage kept and rarely driven most of its life. I do however see lots of them here in Toronto that look like total crap due to owners mistreating them and getting cheap or shady paintwork done. The great ones are kept away from the elements like an attraction in a museum I guess.
Got mine 4 months ago been wanting one forever. Got it for a steal too 1900
What year model
When it comes to the paint issue, I feel like it's a Nissan problem in general. I see many nissan cars that aren't that old and the clear coat is faded and rust spots
Its a 15 year old car problem ...look at a 15 year old corolla , rusty and busty , every 10years or less need a manditory paint job
My front crossmember is BANGING
I think he is the only guy doesnt like exhaust sound, I love mine
That soft clear coat they use at Infiniti really does suck. I have chips md scratches everywhere
definitely overrated in the chicagoland area, see them at almost every meet and can’t forget the straight piped trumpet tone it gives off
For real tho those sound like trash
Lmao no cap
There still badass cars
Alexander M they are dope but when you see so many you just want something different
@@neleal1997 Very true, I've seen people make these cars super fast though
That Golf rolling was nice too lol
I've owned 4 G coupes the 1st a manual I did stillen exhaust with y pipe n test pipes n headers sounded extremely loud. Injen cold air intake. Performance tune. Changed the pulleys. Put a Stage 3 clutch and fly wheel. Rims coils and body kit. The 2nd was a 37 ipl left it stock with rims exhaust sounded great. The 3rd a 35 only resonator n muffler delete rims n coils. Now another 35 stock But Might go Borla exhaust this time n we'll c wat else
There you go! What wheels are you running currently? -Edgar

My 2007 is barely washed, yet it still has that perfect glossy shine after 16 years. Not sure about any paint, issues ever....
Owned a 06 6mt white with all options at the time. Sold it, and I regret it ever since. Damn thing was so sexy.
Close your eyes and picture a super car when you hear a well modified G35/350z, it pairs with a super car much better than some v12 engines imo
First thing on my g35… rocker and paint!!!
Trumpet gang!
infiniti has the sweet sounds no doubt, i have fx and g respectively 08 and 03 with no add ons and sounds are unique
The exhaust was designed to sound like an inline 6 like the old Z's were. If you get headers and ECU and full exhaust it will sound very different lol
No hears me when I say these are basically rbs no turbo
Nice video, i love it :*
#G35gangganggang Sedan ova here.

Getting a g35 soon!
i see a G35 in a thumbnail and i immediately hit like before watching the video! #staydriven
Clean af
So much fun for the money.
nice G, his paint is better than my g35 thats for sure lmao
same bro 😔
I went from a 02 G35X to 11 G37X , Had too many issues with the 35,
These cars are great to own and just have fun with BUT it can get a little expensive modding these, just be aware..that exhaust isn't loud at all lol I'm running Megan test pipes, z1 y pipe, z1 mid pipe to z1 single...I can show you loud 🤣 but its a real deep good loud with still a nice VQ rumble tone
If you drive a well insulated car like an LS430, the sound 2 exposed compressors make is minuscule ;)
Look into it
Lol he said the pillars and ceiling cover are hard to take out, those are probably the easiest interior G35 pieces to remove haha
The only thing I don’t like about the air set up (Air Lift 3H two compressors) on my STI hatchback is the compressor noise. Unfortunately that’s the air/hatchback life.
Lanyards were pretty cool back in middle and high school...
tmr im buying an ‘04 35 thats been garage kept with 76k miles and no paint problems 🙃 and im getting it for $7300
man when you said paint i was like yuppppp i knew it was coming
VQ35HR and VQ37HR are highly sought after because they can produce power that can kill V8s plus...therefore they are true race vehicles....I attend car meets regularly and 40% of the cars you will see show off are in fact VQ series motors
I do like Alex.
But he's the Only person I've EVER heard Bitch about how the VQ sounds.
Its one of the Best sounding V6s. The only NA V6 comparable to the VQ comes in a bimmer.
Im a V8 guy and this is the only 6 I'm proud to drive.
I just bought a 2006 g35 2 days ago😂 its 6 speed manuel...and ion know stick
You’ll catch on quick
@@barxweight already learned 😏
Ive always driven stick since i learned to drive, but i still buck 1st gear in mine, the clutches on these cars suck.
What do you mean by popping the bags? My gs running 19x11 rear and 19x10 front fender to lip, i was just confused when you said pop bags maxing them out
Great vids
Would it be good to get a wrap on the g35 or like a full paint job
You should just do a movie , the ending is funny😁
I have both a z and g, I feel that the z is just too common now for a newer tuner car where the g has endless possibilities
Alex you've been mentioning doug a lot lately lol
