Peter Capaldi killed his children in Torchwood. Yeah, sure Moffat explained why the Doctor wore Caecillius' face, but I still haven't heard his reasoning of what that had to do with the role he played on Torchwood. He said that all three of Capaldi's appearances would be explained.

There aren't many things that break me. Liz Sladen dying and SJA ending broke me. I still tear up at the ending. This was a really special show, and I think the reason that the Who era of 2005-2010 felt so immersive was that there was a whole universe being maintained, and it felt like you could just slip in and out of it whenever you liked. That's how you know you've done something right. Or so I say

  • @nightowl8477
    @nightowl8477 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

*I came up with an idea for a follow-up called Bannerman Road.*
The first episode opens with Sarah Jane (off-screen) fighting a standard alien threat. She gets shot, and K9 defends her dying body until he's shot too.
The gang try to continue her legacy without her, but fail, as Sky dies early on. Since then, they disband but all pitch in to pay for the house (now empty): Rani a journalist; Clyde an artist; Luke a NASA scientist.
Luke and Maria have a reunion, and - shocked to hear that they're still paying for the house - insists they all reunite and sell-up, putting it all behind them.
They agree but, when cleaning, find a clue suggesting Sky is still out there somewhere.
There are mysteries still left to be unravelled. Who left Sky, and why? Is she even human? Rani and Clyde are stubborn at first to admit it, but they never really moved on. Their feelings towards each other open up as the show goes by. Encountering old companions *and* old monsters, the series' team gradually investigate what it was that happened to Sky, all the while coming to terms with letting go of Sarah Jane. This theme of letting go comes to its conclusion when the team track down Sky's whereabouts only to find nothing. There was hope she would return, but she didn't. And that's okay. They put the investigation to rest and sell the house, for a new family to use. They let go, but they remain firm friends.
It's an anagram r about letting go of the past without severing yourself from it: that means Sky, that means Sarah Jane, and that means the show. Sometimes things end abruptly, but you have to accept it and move on.

For me, I instantly wanted nothing to do with the 13th doctor not for her sex but for what that represented.
Over the years, the stories that Dr. Who covered were entertaining but that's not why I watched. It's the ideas and the philosophies that the Doctor has to cover and the decisions he has to make that really make Dr. Who for me. From the Utopia episode to the one where Amy gets stuck in an alternate dimension and the doctor has to leave her, or even the Silence. Each of these brought up concepts that could be thought about outside of the show. Hell, these were my favorites.
As the show continued on though, political correctness started cutting out the darker topics. Sure, there were hints in other episodes but one could always say that there was the next episode. It could be free of that. So that brings me to my point.
They didn't cast her because she's particularly good.
They cast her because she's a woman and I feel that its a symbol of political correctness that is pervasive in every episode. Truthfully, I care little about her actual sex. I do care for the fact that she's waved around as a token. She's the token female Doctor I refuse to support that.

@@bluephoenixguy1094 really, one time I imagined Eddie Redmayne as the doctor, plus I like the new doctor even though I. HATE the new sonic.

      Brandon Moore
Yes, change is nice but I still feel that this doctor is nothing but an appeal to Political Correctness ruins the impactful parts of the show for me, robbing it of its depth. You're fine to like the show, but I liked the more underlying elements than the immediately obvious ones. I don't want to support a show that I feel that the writing has gone down signifigantly.
What better way to get this point across than with my wallet, and my views.

SJA was brilliant, balancing Doctor Who history and world with a kid friendly version was no easy task. Yet they nailed it. It got better over time just like Doctor Who did. The most impressive aspect of SJA was it was never patronising. Never treated the viewer as stupid and yet the softening of Doctor Who for kids was a massive achievement. I have nothing but love for this show. Even now in my late twenties it stills hold ups as a great show. Series 5 was the change and possibly the final series. It's such a shame it was never finished. The series was cobbled together to finish some of it. At least we have something to watch. Elisabeth Sladen was a true legend and will be sadly missed. She made the show and managed to bring kids and adults together with there love of SJA and Doctor Who. She was truly special and a shame she is no longer with us. We will always have her work so she will always life on.

This comment won't really help anyone but myself, but at 10:49, right as he went: "Mmm... Hmm..." Suddenly the video cut to an ad of a guy waking up shivering from the cold and going: "Hurr. The furnace is-"
    "Back on."
    And then he goes:
    "Not the best."
And I thought that was a really cool transition.

Class knew its target audience. It was a fairly typical teen/young adult drama and it did that WELL. EXTREMELY WELL. Speaking as someone who was 17 (I think?) when Class came out, I adored every second of it. Although mostly I was just there for Charlie and Matteusz. Class deserved a second series and you're wrong if you disagree.

I still don't care that the doctor is female, it the PC-ness the new doctor who is taking that is starting to drag.... The first female Doctor may have been short lived but was PHENOMENAL, The Doctor Donna of course... Thanks the human ingenuity she was way more OP than the Doctor (she figured out how to fix the chameleon field for the Tardis just as a random thought) and she retained the hilarity of Donna Noble. This new female Doctor is still a bit meh, she needs to act less idiot and more weirdo. Though it's is a nice change from Capaldi's sarcastic ahole grandpa Doctor but, I really do miss the Sci-fi ramblings were the Doctor tries to explain something out of this world at light speed that we got with most Doctors. The new Doctor is really like "errr", 'Hhhhmmm" and "Well, maybe" were I'd expect some out of this world explanation.

The only other writer/producer I know of that had three shows on at once. Was Micheal Landon. Here in America. He had Father Murphy and Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven all on NBC at the same time. It's interesting to know He wasn't the only one in the World.

I just hope when we have a capable writer and lead for doctor who again that Luke or Clyde and or rani might return. Nothing would please fans for than seeing Sarah-Janes genius son created by aliens stand side by side with a good actor or actress to play the doctor with a good writer letting the son of Sarah-Jane experience the life she once had travelling in time with the doctor while the doctor drops their jaw in amazement of the effect Sarah-Jane as a mentor and mother on such a capable already well established character. And out of the 3 Luke would be the best choice purely for the fact he has already appeared in 3 doctor who episodes granted 2 of those were a two parter story but still
