This is one of the few that is actually sad instead of gross. Idk how scammers can live with themselves scamming people with these sort of backstories.
Scammers are looking exactly for these kinds of people. People who are older, lonely, and desperate for companionship. They are the perfect targets. Scammers also purposely make little mistakes to see if these people are dumb enough to not catch it...and if they don't notice these mistakes, then scammers tend to think that they deserve to get scammed.
Scammers disconnect from marks and often justify what they do by the very fact the mark fell for it. “They fell for it, if they had any sense they’d know better.” That’a the mentality.

People shouldn't put pics or videos of their children online at all imo. Even fully dressed they can & will be used for you know. Also think about the future, who will see them & what if the child doesn't want that. Luckily im too old for that although i had an argument with my sister years back about the consequences of her posting my pic anywhere.

Let’s give this poor woman a break. It’s not her fault that her photos were stolen, and now because of that we’re all weighing in on her looks and her judgement. Tons of people post public photos and videos of their kids and nobody rakes them over the coals for doing it. If I had kids I would NOT do that, but some people either don’t know the risks or discount them.
Wow, I think this is the first time I heard a victim say they are naive instead of "very intelligent". This was one of the most sympathetic stories, I hope he can get some support and friendship in real life.

The woman last week and the week before had to keep reminding us how “educated, intelligent and financially stable “ they were… ummm… when you have been scammed by a VERY obvious scam out the gate and then keep blathering on how smart you are… ya.. your not. Quite the opposite infact. This man was just so humble… a refreshing change to the others where you just want to ring their neck. I hope he will be ok.. he is very genuine fella and I feel sad for him.

I'm disabled I have multiple sclerosis and I dated a man who lost the leg in Afghanistan trust me when I say this man is having a pity party I know because I've had them! He needs to stop blaming other people for his problems lose some weight get healthier and get a prosthetic leg and get out of that damn wheelchair! FYI I've been in a wheelchair!

To me, the part that shows that Andrew is such a genuine person is that he sits outside on his porch with his dog and waives at the passerby’s. People like that make our society kinder and better. Major respect to Andrew, I hope he’s doing well.

Yeah, I was expecting a 25 year old model. I was only half paying attention and actually thought for a while they kept showing photos of his ex wife. I think this might be the first episode I've seen where it's, like, normal looking photos being stolen. I mean, she pretty or whatever, but a middle aged single mom isn't exactly the millionaire with a 6 pack that it usually is...
Everyone has some type of disability, whether it be physical or something else. This guy lost his leg because he most likely has diabetes from being overweight and not taking care of himself. People who get sucked into internet scammers live in a fairytale in their head. Why would anyone send money to someone they don’t know, ridiculous. He would be better off spending the money on a therapist. Go meet real people.

As soon as they ask for money, it's a romance scam. If they're promising you money, no matter the amount, but you must send them money to cover "administrative expenses," it's a scam.

Out of all the videos I've watched on this channel so far, this is the first where I've actually felt compassion for the victim here. This gentleman had no ulterior motives like leaving a spouse for someone better; no harsh physical demands of any potential girlfriend-- just looking for a truly genuine person to be with. Very saddening.

My husband was exactly like you. Single with a young autistic son. He actually thought I was a scammer myself because no other women would talk to him on the dating site we met on. Hang in there, there's some legit kind women in the world. Just hard to find sometimes.

She says she will "never boss [you] around," but yet doggedly pursues him for the tiny bit of money he gets every month. Just gross. I hope Andrew someday finds someone who is a decent person, since he is a decent person.
I think the fact that the has only so much money every month may have saved him in time. Other victims on this channel who had more money ended up sending hundreds of thousands of dollars abroad, took up loans, mortgaged or even sold their house to send money to a bitcoin wallet...while Andrew is naive, I think his gut instinct still kicked in when "she" was pestering him for money when he was trying to tell her that he cannot spare any more. Somebody who respects you will take no for an answer. In fact, decent people find it hard to ask other people for money even if they actually are in distress.

I only heard one side of the story so I would be cautious to conclude that your assumption is correct. Yes, this catfish story is tragic but loss of mobility takes a toll on one’s mental health. Who knows what he was like to his wife before she left. Everyone has their own personal reason for separation and divorce, and each party usually blames the other. He seems like a genuine person but deluded people usually have an air of “innocent child”, which evokes empathy in good hearted people. But again, if a person is this deluded, how deluded was he before this? Probably the same but just in different contexts, one of which I assume led his wife to leave him.

Finding love as a disabled person is so hard. My sister has had men get angry and verbally abusive towards her after finding out. I sympathize with him and I hope he can find the companion he is looking for

I’m 53, and was diagnosed with MS in 01, and my then husband said he’d take care of me and our kids but the statistics on ppl w MS shows that 90% of men that’s wives get diagnosed w MS end up cheating. That’s what happened to me. I’ve been alone a long time but I be danged if I’d ever beg for love from anyone. It’s in God’s hands and I will accept anything that the Lord has planned for my future. Best of luck to all of my disabled friends. We are worth love, companionship and friendship just like everyone else.
I'm disabled from injuries sustained from am attempted murder. I happened to meet an amazing man that accepts all the medical problems that have come from my injuries, mental and physical. He doesn't even question it and helps me when it's hard to walk and I don't have my cane, and helps me carry things due to my paralyzed arm. I planned on being alone but a so fortunate to find my better half.
This is so true. I had a spinal injury in April and the surgery almost left me paralysed. My girlfriend at the time looked for every problem possible just after the surgery and I eventually broke up with her. 4 months on, I'm still learning to walk again and find the right lady for me

He's gonna have to find someone who wants to take care of him like a child and not get anything in return. You can tell by his personality, he's super needy on top of the leg loss. Those kind of people re smothering. he didn't get that way because he lost his leg, he was already that way. His wife leaving him wasn't simply because he lost his leg, the leg was the last straw. Everyone thinks that the world is a super happy place and people mean it when they say they wouldn't leave you if you were attacked by a bear, disfigured in a car accident, etc. but, trust me, it's not true, lol. People might think that way and even believe they are that way, but, when it happens, and real life sets in, you start to think differently. Animosity, anger, etc. all set in and you direct it right at that person. You start thinking "If it wasn't for you, I could be doing......." and you also start thinking "I didn't lose my leg, why do I have to give up my life?". The bottom line is that people are in relationships with people they are compatible with. Same interests, hobbies, etc. Of course not everything is exactly the same - but, an able bodied person being with a disabled body person usually isn't gonna last - way too different of lifestyles, especially if you're young. Remember that time you said "I'd like a partner who I had to take care of all the time? Who I have to give up my social life for because I can't leave them alone? I have to make arrangements for someone else to look after them if I want to do something as simple as go out for a drink? And I don't even get the benefits of a romantic relationship? That's not a relationship. That's a job.

No matter what people say to make themselves feel better, while pets can give affection and fill a hole in a persons life, they can not fill the same hole that is left from lack of human connection. There is a marked difference. Aristotle wrote of this thousands of years ago. The human brain requires the sensation of human connection to remain truly healthy. That's the same reason even so many so called introverts will go online here on youtube or other social media sites. Just reading or typing a comment or watching a video and hearing a human speak rewards the individual with the feeling of human connection.
When I saw how much he loves his dog and his dog loves him it melted my heart. My dog is my daughter. I love her more than anything. She’s my best friend. Never hurts me. Never lets me down. She’s nothing but pure love. Everybody deserves that level of love. ❤❤❤

@@versety Scammers do show anger regularly. Especially when they are scamming the elderly out of their life savings. They use anger tactics to intimidate their victims. Also, the romance scammers are quick to get angry after the money runs out.

You should see where the scammers live, people are so poor there the population huffs glue to combat hunger, and then they usually die before they even hit 18. There are no hope of getting a good jobs either. Westerners have destroyed Africa after putting their own dictators in each country, dictators who are pro capitalist of course and who will let big oil and mining companies destroy the land and leave everyone hungry. I'd say it's payback for what westerners have done. Even though US citizens are also victims since they can't control their own government that has gone rogue at this point. I honestly don't know what I would do if I lived in west africa in extreme poverty, I think the hunger and the fear of being poor forever would push me to scam people probably, even though i'm a good person in the US and I would never do something like that of course. When you're hungry and your family is dying and losing their home, things are different. If the west cared about older people getting scammed, maybe they should stop destroying the land in Africa and let the people decide if they would like socialism instead perhaps. As a psychologist this is an addiction for many people. It’s better to join a group where you meet people face to face. Andrew you are so sweet. Join some singles groups in your area. Or go to church and attend their activities.
That's the same advice my psychiatrist gave me. Said to join a running group so I won't be so scared to workout outside alone. I left Facebook in 2013 and NEVER looked back😅

There is a streamer who has an audience of disabled people and he makes pretty good money from them. It made me think, where do they get all that money? Then i remember seeing my disabled father in-law's SSI check. These young disabled adults get free control of their SSI checks but parents dont always make them pay bills. A nice steady stream of SSI money coming from these guys but it took years to groom them. They have no friends, they desperately want to be acknowledged by another human. Some of them turn to cam girls, some get scammed. The root of it is loneliness. Being disabled in the modern world has its challenges but loneliness has to the hardest part.

@@0nof-i1l I'm in a similar situation to him, having to rebuild a life fter a debilitating injury that made me lose my whole social circle in the process. It's truly one of the worst things someone can experience, especially when they're in need of that emotional support, everyone abandons them. Maybe I would've responded the same way he did if I were part of his age group, instead I'm younger and very well versed on internet culture and technology. There's always two sides to a story, of course, but like, he deserves compassion and a support system, he's done nothing wrong. I know because I've been through something similar.
I don't know, there's definitely been women on this channel getting fished and the prevailing sentiment is either they're an unrealistic dumbass or mentally unstable, mixed with a few sympathizers of course just like this guy is getting. I would be inclined to take his side of the story with a pinch of salt. People who go through life changing injuries can completely change in terms of their personality, even becoming intolerable assholes. I don't think anyone should feel the urge to stay with someone if they stop being the personality you used to know, no matter how tragic; although I respect those who do. I'm not saying this guy was like that, but you only have his take on it so we don't really know what the dynamics were truly like.

He's not the usual delusional old guy who thinks a 20 yo model is into him, and he was always honest about his disability and financial state, I felt so bad seeing how ruthless the scammer was... You know - the kind that claims ADHD but can focus on things they can enjoy, where there are those with ADHD so severe that they literally cannot even do what they enjoy/like, and can’t even have relationships with their own parents because they cannot hold a conversation no matter how much therapy. And to your mindset, I’ve a brittle bone disease. I’ve broken my elbows from putting too much weight on stair case railings, getting up out of a chair, almost all of my vertebrae are either compressed or have been broken. Despite it always hurting to walk, and always being at risk, I spent years hitch hiking/couch surfing, traveling overseas, needing to sleep outside to save money, not being able to bring my medications in some countries, or get them in some states/places. And I still refuse to use a wheelchair. Being disabled is not a mindset. It’s a reality. Do many people fake it? Absolutely, does it mean it’s not real? No. Would I expect anyone, to try to do what I was doing? Fuck no. Even other species of animal recognize disability, but most of them just kill their young when they see that they are. Human Societies have long since chosen not to do that, and allow the disabled to instead try to find a pathway to contribute to society, not finically speaking but through medical research/information, and similar pathways.

A self-deluded person fell for a Nigerian scumbag once, he will fall for it AGAIN & AGAIN. When you are unable to use common sense, intellect, lack wisdom and throw your money away on a stranger’s typed messages, then the internet is too risky. Some of us can discern dangers online but others are gullible, delusional and remain in denial. Nobody deserves this but real money was paid for an online phantasy.

Yeah Andrew is not like the usual "creeps" on here , he genuinely seems like a good guy. I sure hope he finds somebody that deserves him and treats him well. These scammers are heartless peices of 💩and don't care about the fact that they can cause serious trauma to people.
None of the victims here were “creeps” to begin with. They all were humans with genuine physical and emotional needs that they wanted satiated. The fact that you want to shame people for genuine human connection tells us what exactly is wrong with the current state of the world.

They all ask the same questions, “Are you eating” that seems to be with every case, they fall in love, they always have things come up that they can not meet, they can not FaceTime, or anything else. Sickening that these people fall for it.
Scamming is a job to them. They have zero feelings for these people. Theres no emotion, no feeling bad for what their doing. Its a way of thinking that's foreign to most of us.
Like everyone, this is the first victim I really feel for. He’s a great guy and his wife is gross for leaving him over something he couldn’t control. I hope he finds a nice woman.
This is just about the only TH-cam channel where I always read the comments after and for the first time ever I must say, it looks like there is a lot of love & empathy here for this man, and rightly so. Normally the comments can be so cruel, I always fear people will stop coming forward. I feel bad for most victims because at the core they are lonely & want to be loved like all of us do & deserve to be. This guy is very sweet, honest & kind and totally adorable - the right woman is out there, plz don't lose hope.
If someone's life story is how nice and generous they are and how they've done nothing wrong ever, and everybody uses them, there's a chance that person is a covert narcissist. This guy's using a "generous nice guy" act to get pity. He wants to get himself a woman to be his unpaid nurse and baby him!

When I clicked on the episode briefly to remind me of which one, he did gave me an immediate “ick” vibe - so maybe I was feeling generous the day! I’ve seen so many of these now & the story is always the same, I think I’m really starting to lose my empathy for these folks.

Scammers also purposely make little mistakes to see if these people are dumb enough to not catch it...and if they don't notice these mistakes, then scammers tend to think that they deserve to get scammed.
Scammers disconnect from marks and often justify what they do by the very fact the mark fell for it.

Let’s give this poor woman a break. It’s not her fault that her photos were stolen, and now because of that we’re all weighing in on her looks and her judgement. I think this might be the first episode I've seen where it's, like, normal looking photos being stolen. Everyone has some type of disability, whether it be physical or something else. This guy lost his leg because he most likely has diabetes from being overweight and not taking care of himself. People who get sucked into internet scammers live in a fairytale in their head. Why would anyone send money to someone they don’t know, ridiculous. He would be better off spending the money on a therapist. Go meet real people.

Out of all the videos I've watched on this channel so far, this is the first where I've actually felt compassion for the victim here. This gentleman had no ulterior motives like leaving a spouse for someone better; no harsh physical demands of any potential girlfriend-- just looking for a truly genuine person to be with. I think the fact that the has only so much money every month may have saved him in time. Other victims on this channel who had more money ended up sending hundreds of thousands of dollars abroad, took up loans, mortgaged or even sold their house to send money to a bitcoin wallet...while Andrew is naive, I think his gut instinct still kicked in when "she" was pestering him for money when he was trying to tell her that he cannot spare any more. Somebody who respects you will take no for an answer. In fact, decent people find it hard to ask other people for money even if they actually are in distress.

I only heard one side of the story so I would be cautious to conclude that your assumption is correct. Yes, this catfish story is tragic but loss of mobility takes a toll on one’s mental health. Who knows what he was like to his wife before she left. Everyone has their own personal reason for separation and divorce, and each party usually blames the other. He seems like a genuine person but deluded people usually have an air of “innocent child”, which evokes empathy in good hearted people. But again, if a person is this deluded, how deluded was he before this? Probably the same but just in different contexts, one of which I assume led his wife to leave him.

You are 100% correct. I’m 53, and was diagnosed with MS in 01, and my then husband said he’d take care of me and our kids but the statistics on ppl w MS shows that 90% of men that’s wives get diagnosed w MS end up cheating. That’s what happened to me. I’ve been alone a long time but I be danged if I’d ever beg for love from anyone. It’s in God’s hands and I will accept anything that the Lord has planned for my future. Best of luck to all of my disabled friends. We are worth love, companionship and friendship just like everyone else.
I'm disabled from injuries sustained from am attempted murder. I happened to meet an amazing man that accepts all the medical problems that have come from my injuries, mental and physical. He doesn't even question it and helps me when it's hard to walk and I don't have my cane, and helps me carry things due to my paralyzed arm.
I planned on being alone but a so fortunate to find my better half.
This is so true. I had a spinal injury in April and the surgery almost left me paralysed. My girlfriend at the time looked for every problem possible just after the surgery and I eventually broke up with her.
4 months on, I'm still learning to walk again and find the right lady for me

People might think that way and even believe they are that way, but, when it happens, and real life sets in, you start to think differently. Animosity, anger, etc. all set in and you direct it right at that person. You start thinking "If it wasn't for you, I could be doing......." and you also start thinking "I didn't lose my leg, why do I have to give up my life?".
The bottom line is that people are in relationships with people they are compatible with. Same interests, hobbies, etc. Of course not everything is exactly the same - but, an able bodied person being with a disabled body person usually isn't gonna last - way too different of lifestyles, especially if you're young. Remember that time you said "I'd like a partner who I had to take care of all the time? Who I have to give up my social life for because I can't leave them alone? I have to make arrangements for someone else to look after them if I want to do something as simple as go out for a drink? And I don't even get the benefits of a romantic relationship?

No matter what people say to make themselves feel better, while pets can give affection and fill a hole in a persons life, they can not fill the same hole that is left from lack of human connection. There is a marked difference. Aristotle wrote of this thousands of years ago. The human brain requires the sensation of human connection to remain truly healthy. That's the same reason even so many so called introverts will go online here on youtube or other social media sites. Just reading or typing a comment or watching a video and hearing a human speak rewards the individual with the feeling of human connection.

I honestly don't know what I would do if I lived in west africa in extreme poverty, I think the hunger and the fear of being poor forever would push me to scam people probably, even though i'm a good person in the US and I would never do something like that of course. When you're hungry and your family is dying and losing their home, things are different.

There is a streamer who has an audience of disabled people and he makes pretty good money from them. It made me think, where do they get all that money? Then i remember seeing my disabled father in-law's SSI check. These young disabled adults get free control of their SSI checks but parents dont always make them pay bills. A nice steady stream of SSI money coming from these guys but it took years to groom them. They have no friends, they desperately want to be acknowledged by another human. Some of them turn to cam girls, some get scammed. The root of it is loneliness. Being disabled in the modern world has its challenges but loneliness has to the hardest part.

It's truly one of the worst things someone can experience, especially when they're in need of that emotional support, everyone abandons them. Maybe I would've responded the same way he did if I were part of his age group, instead I'm younger and very well versed on internet culture and technology. There's always two sides to a story, of course, but like, he deserves compassion and a support system, he's done nothing wrong. I know because I've been through something similar.

And to your mindset, I’ve a brittle bone disease. I’ve broken my elbows from putting too much weight on stair case railings, getting up out of a chair, almost all of my vertebrae are either compressed or have been broken.
Despite it always hurting to walk, and always being at risk, I spent years hitch hiking/couch surfing, traveling overseas, needing to sleep outside to save money, not being able to bring my medications in some countries, or get them in some states/places.
And I still refuse to use a wheelchair.
Being disabled is not a mindset. It’s a reality. Do many people fake it? Absolutely, does it mean it’s not real? No. Would I expect anyone, to try to do what I was doing? Fuck no.
Even other species of animal recognize disability, but most of them just kill their young when they see that they are. Human Societies have long since chosen not to do that, and allow the disabled to instead try to find a pathway to contribute to society, not finically speaking but through medical research/information, and similar pathways.
This breaks my heart. There *is* a good woman out there who would love him. And I bet they could find one another online. I hate how these scammers scare people off of the internet, traumatizing them to the point of disconnection entirely.
