      Test drove one last Friday, against the 2024 kona. By far was more responsive, more space, and was amazing. The kona had a acceleration 1 second lag 🤢 I did not like that. Was slower than the hrv, hrv was pretty normal like any small car ❤️

    I just bought an HRV a few days ago . Obviously it’s not a rocket ship when it comes to acceleration, but it’s not bad as online reviews make it seem. My 1998 Ford F150 is slow , these new 4cyl cars are fast for what they are . They can’t all be Tesla Performance models haha. Just my two cents from a HRV owner :) .

      I was so worried about purchasing a HRV because of the reviews. So I test drove 2 Honda HRV 2024 just to be sure from two different dealerships. So worth it! I got the white sport HRV. I really wanted the AWD but I was on a budget for a car and didn’t want to pay more than 30k I love my car though!!!

    I absolutely love my 2023 HRV LX AWD. It’s beautifully designed, looks pure, elegant and very European. It handles beautifully and is so comfortable to ride in, I feel like I’m sitting in the comfort of my living room. Some have complained about the power, but it’s fine for me, as someone with a heavy foot, I tend to take greater risks in faster cars. So this is a safer vehicle for me. I especially love the ease of getting in and out of this vehicle, not too high up, and not too low down - just right. I just love this car ❤

    They seriously need a powerful hybrid HR-V to compete with the Corolla Cross Hybrid. The 2.0L NA engine's pretty anemic for how large this car is now.

    • @Fadic4
      @Fadic4 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We’re probably going to get a hybrid once the global situation calms down a bit. Honda already confirmed we’re getting a Civic hybrid so it makes no sense for this not to get it considering they expect 50%+ of CR-V sales to be hybrids.

    • @rkt81
      @rkt81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2023 HR-V should’ve upgraded from the 1.8L i4 to the 1.5T i4, optional on LX and Sport, but standard on EX-L, from the previous gen CR-V. And, the 2023 CR-V should’ve upgraded from a 1.5T i4 to a 2.0T i4, optional on the EX trim, standard on EX-L.

    This looks like an excellent small SUV. The addition of a turbo to add maybe 20-30 HP would be a big help (maybe a lighter 2 WD option too). The CVT programming could allow a quick engine RPM increase, reducing turbo lag. The amount of technical sophistication for the price is awesome. Nice review!

    I like Toyotas and Hondas a lot. I am not a big fan of my current bulky Acura MDX. It has grown on me, but often I wanted a smaller vehicle for better mileage and easier to park in the city parking lots. When my daughter start to drive in a couple years, she’ll get my MDX. I’m considering Corolla Cross Sport, HRV, Mazda CX-30, maybe an Audi Q3. Depends what I feel like to spend at that time.

    • @MikedaLuffy90
      @MikedaLuffy90 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try test driving them all, but the Mazda CX-30 with the 6 Speed Automatic is the best for the money. The others have a CVT, but good gas mileage if that is something you're looking for. Audi Q3 if you need something luxurious.

    "Once you're at speed, the power is fine." HaHa. That's the most diplomatic description yet of the slowness of this car. As a base powertrain, this engine/trans is fine, but I'd love to know, truthfully, why Honda decided to not offer an optional engine upgrade of either their turbocharged or hybrid options for the HR-V Sport and/or EX-L trim-levels. Was it just to cut production costs?

    • @fangyideng3131
      @fangyideng3131 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To me Honda is allocating massive money to EV development and production by cutting features and value pricing on their ICE vehicles. The new CR-V is the perfect example. Oh and don't forget about the supply chain issue, apparently Honda has it the worset among the Japanese

    • @kenhoward3512
      @kenhoward3512 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fangyideng3131 If the new CR-V is a perfect example of "cutting features and value pricing," why is Honda offering it with a hybrid option? And a Civic Hybrid, soon, as well (which is on the same platform as this HR-V)? With competition from the upcoming Corolla Cross Hybrid, I think Honda made a mistake, here, with the HR-V, in terms of fuel economy and power (though it does have a nicer interior).

    I appreciate Honda how much it upgraded Hr-v from the previous generation, but i like the style of the European version Hr-v over this, 'cause its more handsome and smaller. I believe this Hr-v is kinda too big for its segment, and it surely needs a stronger powertrain. Plus, i believe this car was the main reason why Honda messed up with the new Cr-v, kinda encouraging the customers who wanted cheaper Cr-v to buy Hr-v instead. I have never imagined a compact SUV would start its price from 30k lol

    I just don't know about this one. This is a "10-second car" and not in a good way, really unimpressive gas mileage (especially for a something with not a lot of horsepower AND a CVT), and not a great deal of cargo space. IN FACT, the Honda Civic Hatchback has MORE cargo room (okay, 24.5 vs 24.4; but still), gets 7-9 mpg MORE, and has never been accused of being too slow. That said, I love the positivity feels of your family auto reviews!

    Entertaining . HRV cons. Rear bumper doesn't stick out so a bump fender bender will mangle the hatch. Fuel economy should be better for a small SUV with a 2 liter engine.

    $30K for little subcompact 😳yuck! I stick to my V6 2005 Toyota Sienna that has tons of interior space and still runs flawlessly at over 300K miles 3.3L V6 235 HP is way more powerful with exceptional smoothness.

      Whaaat? No. This is Honda's take on "youthful" and it is not good. Honda has gone to a bunch of straight horizontal lines in their car faces, but the whole look is blah across the board.....

      Obviously styling is all subjective but I have to say the new Civic looks better, although overall Honda exterior design language is meh

    Is it common to have no rear vents for this price category? Seems like a big miss!

    • @RRLV434
      @RRLV434 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is common for this class to not have rear vents since the car it’s self is small enough that you can feel the air from the front in the back (or at least that is what I have heard). Most of the cars in this class have the rear vents on higher trims. I guess the hrv doesn’t.

    I am in love with the European spec of this vehicle, it is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't give Honda my money fast enough for it......this outward appearance for us in the U.S. is straight up ugly. Why, Honda? Why??? My money shall go elsewhere.

    A great car that's being held back by the engine. The 2.0l is weak sauce, made worse by mediocre gas mileage. This car, at minimum, should've had the 1.5 turbo at least on the top trim.
