This is so exciting. I foolishly sold my OG Pro-1 in 1999. Thought I could just build another in the Nord Modular...Been longing for another ever since. As much as I love the original, it had one of the crappiest key beds ever. Can't wait to get this guy:)

I haven’t had the chance to play an original Pro-One but I’d say the main difference between the two for me as a hands on player would be the lack of an available keybed with 37 keys that compare to the original. I’d really like for Behringer(or sequential) to release a full sized version. Other than that, the Behringer Pro-1 is by far my favourite synth at the moment.
Really good demo mate, no nonsense, just the guts of whats what... Seems behringer are really intent on delivering quality affordable products.. Id be super interested to see them start churning out some samplers.. 12bit mangling machines yes please !!
What a time to be alive. Roland and DSI have both been complacent in their own ways for years... Roland is stuck in a bizarre paradox of cashing in on their 80s classics with VA "clones" that for the most part none of the synth fanatics wanted. For at least 30 years people have been begging Roland to just reissue an actual analogue TB-303, to the point where dozens of clones have been made by other companies since the 90s. And instead, they give us an overpriced VST in a silver box. Meanwhile, Behringer releases an actual analogue 303 for half the cost of Roland's digital emulation. The JD-XA was the only innovative thing they've done in years, and they've all but abandoned it, plus their new flagship "Jupiter" synth is an overpriced hunk of junk. And then DSI is guilty of cashing in on their brand name and price gouging everything they release, to the point where it's more expensive than what the average enthusiast is able to afford. Sure, they're quality instruments, but there's still an element of snobbish greed at play. So I'm delighted to see Behringer come and hopefully dethrone both companies and make analog gear accessible to the average person. Like Korg, they actually LISTEN to what the public wants.
Roland's days are numbered unless they change their attitude. The customer is always right. They were foolish. They could have made a VCO Jupiter-16 with an arpeggiator that clocks to MIDI, with built in effects and probably sold it for $20,000. But now that Behringer and Korg have their very affordable VCO analogs out, it's too late for Roland. Sequential is too expensive. This Behringer Pro 1 makes the sounds I need and that is all that matters - not the brand name.
im not a fan of a company that all what it does is cloning other companies stuff, no innovation, no customer support at all. im talking about Behringer
Nuh uh. DSI isn’t gouging, they’re just making quality instruments that actually are comparable in price to similar models from other companies. There’s no way you’re going to convince me that a Pro 3 and a Korg Monologue belong in the same category in terms of quality. I am an average enthusiast and SAVED to buy a Sequential synth because it’s worth it. DSI/Sequential is making pro-grade hardware, if you’re an “average enthusiast” why would you expect to get pro-grade gear on the cheap? Behringer is barely innovating and are recycling classics and eventually you’re going to have to make something new or people are going to get bored. DSI and Roland will be just fine. Just because you’re mad you can’t afford higher tier synths doesn’t mean the companies making them are gouging.
Latecomer I know but at 31:55, it seems like the Pro-1 square LFO resets to positive at key press, whereas the Pro-One LFO is starting on negative when the note is triggered. Great video, thanks for being so thorough - a lot better than trying to recall how mine sounded back in 1986! At least yours doesn't have scratchy pots. :^)
I SOLD OFF MY ORIGINAL A DECADE AGO AND KICKED MYSELF FOR IT EVER SINCE. AND YOU'RE RIGHT. THE BEHRINGER IS IDENTICAL IF NOT JUST A LITTLE SWEETER. I FINALLY PICKED ONE UP THIS WEEK AND NOW I AM ALREADY READY TO GRAB A COUPLE MORE. LOL
Double-triggering and dead notes are the problems I have with the keyboard in my 1985 Clef B-30 Microsynth. I'm refurbing it and adding a board to mod it for 1 V/oct so I can use external controls.
A question for the pro-1: Does the external Input go though the filter, lfo and envelopes just like the oscillators? Because would that make it possible to use (polyphonic)samples, played on a computer with midi keyboard, to replace the oscillators (and still trigger the envelope by connecting the same midi keyboard to the synth but with both oscillators mixed to zero)? (also, I suppose it wouldn't get additional noise to my input since it uses the same knob on the mixer, or does it? Please let me know.
Yes, but it needs to be at eurorack level, which is a much louder duh al than most stuff. Plugging in a standard audio out from something will be far too quiet.
Everything about the sound of the Pro One is the 5 CEM chips inside. Behringer cloned those pretty much exactly and has been manufacturing them under CoolAudio. So it's no surprise at all that these two synths are virtually identical in sound as they are closer clones than anything Behr have yet done.
the as 1 is based on prophet 6 not 1 tho. its a completely another think. behringer did a masterpiece with this one. might be the best behringer clone!!!!! i love mine to death!!! and i had an original back in the dayz. it feels like it came back to me!!!
@@TheNimasan The AS-1 is quite similar to the Pro-One compared using the same features. There’s a very good video by Lesindes (I think that’s the channel name) about that. Prophet 6 and 5 bear the same resemblance. There’s a great video about that but I can’t remember the channel name...
Excellent info and video, I just got my Pro-1 yesterday and am loving it, I had access to a Pro One back in the 80's [band mate] I had forgotten how big they were!! BTW Thomann are now sending UK plug adapters for UK bound purchases, but I'm sure that they did that as a rule anyway, I only mention it because I noticed on your intial PRO-1 vid that you didn't get one.
I inherited one that wasn't working, fixed it up with a fatar keyboard mod and a little soldering and it seems like otherwise it's in mint condition. It's MASSIVE though and heavy. Behringer's sounds and looks to function exactly the same, so I think I'll sell and downsize. Thanks for the comparison it has helped me decide.
My only question is; what are Behringer using for EGs? The original used CEM3310's, and Behringer have already cloned the oscillator and filter chips but what of the EG?
I really didn't want any more synths, but after watching this very informative review...I'm sold. How true (& ironic) about the build: I had two Pro One's back in the day...Compared to my CatSRM, they felt quite flimsy indeed and required somewhat frequent technical assistance. All that said, the Pro One is still my favourite monosynth.
This was great thanks. Behringer Pro-1 sounds identical to me. My issue would be the small size. How tactile is it when the knobs and switches are 1/2 or something of the original size?
@@StarskyCarr well that’s a shame. Forty years on and can’t bother to bring up to full midi spec. I suppose that’s why they are so cheap compared to originals.
Before watching this, I only wanted the Behringer Odyssey and the Model D. Now I want the Pro 1 as well.......so thanks for that mate....really helpful!!!
I got the model d when it came out on pre order. It's def worth it! I was very use to my ms20 and 2 different synths. But the model d can sound huge and is a great synth. I have too many mono, but this pro1 clone will be my next!
Thanks for your work. This is indeed really impressing. Need to check with my Pro-One as well since I know that also the SCI P1 Series differ amongst each other.
Thanks for that. Looks like another for my mobile rack! I suspect your Pro-One seems to have been calibrated wrongly at some time in its history. Mine is in tune with tuning at near 12 o'clock and the oscillator tuning knobs around 12 o'clock. That would sort out the sync range restriction you mention. Also, I'd suggest you don't get your original's keyboard 'fixed', but instead replace it. There's a chap on the net who supplies modern replacements. Both of my originals have new keyboards now and they make a huge difference to the playability of the synth.
The Behringer seems a little bit brighter and clearer with slightly less low mid range. I'm listening on studio headphones and am a mix engineer. This is just a comparison of one particular vintage Pro One, but I prefer the Behringer here. I could and have picked which is which in this video eyes closed after getting to know that difference about halfway through the video. m not saying I have the world's best hearing but I think most people with trained ears would hear this difference. Starsky is saying they are identical, but he is saying that in the moment while preforming the video. I'm sure if he put some good headphones on and just listened he would hear it too.
Sure they do not sound identical 100%. And a professional with trained ears will be able to hear the difference using the proper equipment. But for a normal human beeing in a normal listening situation they sound very close. After some EQ, COMP & FX it does not matter.
Yeah I can hear it definitely not enough to put me off and close enough I'm quite happy. That was not my experience with the MS1 which I had to send back. This one mattered more to me than the Boog being close because I own the mini d but could never sell myself on the pro one due to the build.
Thanks for that ... great side by side .. possibly the best clone so far by ULI ... I bought one myself ... very versatile for a mono .... first thing I did out of the box was create the patch for Yazoo “ don’t go “ 😂😂
Did Behringer clone the first step is a miss when a step sequence is externally clocked? I'm the guy who did the "Chariots of Fire" NAMM demo with one of these for the bass line. As long as it faded in, it worked. Start it cold and it was obvious. Even if Behringer's works properly, all else considered they did a great job. I took the Pro One patch book I wrote over to friend who has one and it was dead on.
Thanks Starsky, for a brilliant video. My own Pro-One needs a lot of work (new keyboard, new power supply - I get a lot of mains hum, and a good clean). It'll cost a lot! It makes more sense to me to get one of the new Behringers. It's simply stunning how good it sounds. I was in a group which had two pro-ones and they sounded different to each other so I am amazed that this new one sounds so close to an original - almost impossible to tell them apart.
The main thing I noticed was it’s so much easier to dial in a patch on the original. You can get there with the Behringer, but the smaller knobs require a bit more precision and time to get exactly what you want.
@@SerErris Not quite yet... I'm not "precious" about things and if the Behringer proves reliable and up to the job then I might consider selling it, even in it's poorly state. I need to find out just how much it will cost to get it back to it's best before I make a decision.
Yes! If/when you do, be sure to experiment with adding a few more voices in unison mode and defining/slop. I've been able to emulate some Minimoog sounds very closely with the P-6 as a result!
Starsky Carr I’d love to see an AS-1 vs pro one/pro-1 video. The AS-1 has different gain staging than the Prophet 6, so it’s a bit different of a sound
Pro 1's are only £166 this week from Thomann... utter "no brainer" as Starsky comments . I owned a Pro 1 (and Pro V) back in the day and he's right, it's bang on. Cannot wait to get my hands on their Jupiter 8
Only at 34:30, I felt quite a difference in envelope retrigger behavior on the soft bass patch, the original connecting notes much snappier, in comparison it's almost as if envelope didnt retrigger in the Bro 1... Was there any difference in setting there or is this the synth itself?
So I was thinking about what you said at around 6:45 about not having a large amount of resolution on the behringer and there was nothing you can do about it. But actually it's an analogue potentiometer. So just bigger knobs would fix that problem..
not necessarily, as you have to have a certain amount of metal touching metal.. The larger the pot the finer control you have, as the contact has a longer range. Same as short faders vs long faders.
@@StarskyCarr the Pro-1 potentiometer is not smaller as the original. The shaft is both 6mm. So I think buttons would fix it if they are not too jammed together.
@@TheTerracide the shaft may be the same but the actual contact in the pot is much shorter so less resolution. But yeah, larger knobs could be some help. On the pro-one the pots are huge in comparison. I’ve been inside mine a few times and the casings are about 10x the size. I’m not an electronics engineer, but the tiny pots in the Behringer surely can’t offer the same control as the much larger ones on the original. It’s all academic anyway :) the B is such good value.
You are right to mention that 40's yo synth doesn't sound the same at the begining of their life ; that's why when you compare a RE-303 or a good diy X0XB0X with a TB303, the old TB sound "duller" (not bad though XD), when the value of the components used in the RE and X0X are measured to match "exactly" the original, that's the main reason imho that they sounds differents ; Thank you for your work, and glad your channel grows !! You deserve it, you are very good at comparison and you have good taste
Great video. I think the original sounds a smidgen better but not enough to worry about. I'm hopeful the small knobs on the Behringer don't take too much away from the joy of working with it.
I think so, too - almost identical in a mix, and I think the original sounds better (mostly) because it's *old*, it has some more harmonics and variation in sound
Great review..can't believe how similar they sound.👍🏻 The only dissapointment was the 'Only You' tone where the Behringer sounded a little dull (to my ears). I'm sure it's just a knob size issue....er...🤣 Just wish these had patch memories..patch sheets are a pain.
Thanks.. the only you sound is so difficult because of the interaction of the filt env amount, cutoff and reso settings plus keyboard tracking. Add that to the amp env and I just couldn’t nail it. On the OG it took seconds - I know folks talk about knob size being a real issue for them, but it’s never got the better of me before... just this one pesky patch!!! Also, I thought the Behringer may have had slight variations in the tone as the arp played which wouldn’t normally be an issue - but when matching exactly can send you insane (it may not even have been happening - just my ears playing tricks) - so after a few attempts I left it where you hear it before I started chewing the carpet.
Starsky Carr Hey...you get a 10 out of 10 for effort.👍🏻😎 I think I may have to get one of these as I always wanted a Pro 1 when I was a teen...and had to settle for a Red SH101 as it was about £150 cheaper. Can you store the current patch settings as sys ex?
Douglas B. Hah thanks... No it’s very much a replica of pre-MIDI tech. Non of the knobs send or receive MIDI. There’s a Behringer app I’ve never used for changing legato modes and key priority (I think!) but that’s about as far as MiDI implementation goes.
Starsky Carr Thanks for the info..it's a shame they didn't charge an extra £50 and add midi sys ex and a 100 patch memory...maybe they're saving that for the Mk.2! 👍🏻😁
Making it programmable would mean adding a digital control layer to it, and it is then not the same instrument at all. It would also increase the price, and people who don’t know what they’re talking about would be angry it costs too much. People are incredibly spoiled now. In any case, this synth is so simple and easy to use (yet deep) that if you have practiced at all with subtractive synths, you should be able to dial up anything you like within 20-30 seconds. There are reasons this is a classic, and one of them is the absolutely stellar ease of use.
At 34.30 you can hear that the Behringer sounds lighter and thinner, or is it because the original is a little louder? I can really tell it is louder. I wonder if Behringer will create a mark 2 with higher-grade components later.
Much like the model d, it seems it's out of stock and pre order now estimates between December-March. I did do guitar center once but they have a thing for putting the earliest date to get buyers, reverb has a similar date. I know with the model d, it took me about 3 months to snag one after really really hunting it down with multiple cancels and pre orders. Def will wait till December to see what stock looks like.
„Hope you enjoyed that ...“ I really do! Brilliant job from Uli and so did you. You disabuse all the haters and envious people by proving that it is possible even in these days to live up to your dreams ! Uli made a fantastic job with all of his gear the last months and he is not at the end of his journey ... Amazing times for me as a analog synth nerd with musical background int the 70s, 80s and 90s being given the ability to share the passion of some historic analog gear, but need not to sell house and property for this dream!!! Envy is the companion of success.
HornieCow haha thanks :) there’s actually a 1970s track with exactly the same synth bass line but I can’t remember what it was .. maybe someone will add to the comments.
Adamski A. I was thinking of the rah rah band track called the crunch. Just found it and it’s got the same rhythm but it’s not identical. Look it up on TH-cam... I saw it on a totp rerun very glam rock!
That's Behringer's most accurate reproduction yet. Sounds bang-on identical. Kind of funny that Behringer is always ragged on for build quality, yet their clone is build far more solidly than the original.
@MorbidManMusic Some will. What vintage mongers fail to realize is that most of the units made back then didn't last until now... only a lucky few, which is why they're rare and expensive. 40 years from now there will be some Behringers that were stored in nice climate controlled places that still work great, while most will have ended up in musty basements, gotten dropped, spilled on, played too roughly, or whatever else can kill an electronic device.
Gnarly Soundscapes they are rare and expensive because they were damn expensive and the market was super small, nothing else. If you know about électronique , you will find out that Today’s products are not fixable when fail.
@@donpoulos Well lesee shall we.. not fixable in 40 years. Yep.. replaceable for the same cost to repair an og pro one in 40 years? Yep! But will something 10 times better be available? Probably.
James Walker from Synth Repair Services is absolutely superb. He did a wonderful job on straightening out the keybed on my Model D a few years back....he's based in Stoke on Trent, so I'm guessing not too from you. I had to send him the keybed from Switzerland where I've lived since 97....(still a Manc at heart though)
God I was so disappointed by the MS101, fortunately I have the SH101 but I don't have a Pro one so this was really the one I was hoping would nail it. I'm feeling really good about this one.
It's one I've overlooked - as it has been marketed as a DJ performance tool.. but turns out its basically a single voice Prophet 6. Looks great for the price - but you're right, it's a shame about the interface.
Outstanding comparison. You are lucky to have one of the earlier Pro-Ones. The later keybed was unrepairable. When the membrane contacts die, it took months to get repaired. And that was in the 80's. The MIDI implementation allows so many control options on the Behringer. The sounds are spot on. The complex waveform created from multiple wave shapes always gave the P-1 a different character than the Mini or the SH-101. Looking forward to the units landing in the states.
It has mono mode, poly mode and Depeche Mode.

So I'm delighted to see Behringer come and hopefully dethrone both companies and make analog gear accessible to the average person. Like Korg, they actually LISTEN to what the public wants.
Not maybe the place to be bitching about Roland, but I completely agree.
God help Roland behringer comes out with their Jupiter 8...I read they are working on it...
im not a fan of a company that all what it does is cloning other companies stuff, no innovation, no customer support at all. im talking about Behringer
You rock, greatest ever reviews and comparisons
I'm refurbing it and adding a board to mod it for 1 V/oct so I can use external controls.
excellent, thanks for making this!
A question for the pro-1:
Does the external Input go though the filter, lfo and envelopes just like the oscillators? Because would that make it possible to use (polyphonic)samples, played on a computer with midi keyboard, to replace the oscillators (and still trigger the envelope by connecting the same midi keyboard to the synth but with both oscillators mixed to zero)?
(also, I suppose it wouldn't get additional noise to my input since it uses the same knob on the mixer, or does it?
Please let me know.
Yes, but it needs to be at eurorack level, which is a much louder duh al than most stuff.
Plugging in a standard audio out from something will be far too quiet.
They sound pretty damn close to me !.
I have one of these and cannot believe the filter, man its a monster. But that cv and gate in man what a drag.
Has anyone swapped and/or can recommend bigger knobs onto their Bro-1? Worth it?
yes, very useful, thanks! It's great to hear you laughing the whole way through...sounds like it was fun and that's what it is all about...
I bought the Pro One when it came out and always had a Korg guitar tuner plugged into it to tune it as it drifted a lot.
Everything about the sound of the Pro One is the 5 CEM chips inside. Behringer cloned those pretty much exactly and has been manufacturing them under CoolAudio. So it's no surprise at all that these two synths are virtually identical in sound as they are closer clones than anything Behr have yet done.
Are you thinking of comparing the Behringer Pro-1 with Pioneer AS-1?
the as 1 is based on prophet 6 not 1 tho. its a completely another think. behringer did a masterpiece with this one. might be the best behringer clone!!!!! i love mine to death!!! and i had an original back in the dayz. it feels like it came back to me!!!
Cool. I've put the Fatar in mine - it make a massive difference.
I think you make the best reviews out there, thanks
My only question is; what are Behringer using for EGs? The original used CEM3310's, and Behringer have already cloned the oscillator and filter chips but what of the EG?
I believe they are digitally generated somehow, what magic they used to do so is beyond me.
I really didn't want any more synths, but after watching this very informative review...I'm sold.
How true (& ironic) about the build:
I had two Pro One's back in the day...Compared to my CatSRM, they felt quite flimsy indeed and required somewhat frequent technical assistance.
All that said, the Pro One is still my favourite monosynth.
This was great thanks. Behringer Pro-1 sounds identical to me. My issue would be the small size. How tactile is it when the knobs and switches are 1/2 or something of the original size?
It’s nowhere near as nice as the original to play - but that’s only to be expected in something so small.
@@StarskyCarr That's where the midi controller comes in....cheers.
...except most of the parameters won't respond to MIDI :(.
LOL, he's good like that. I had a similar problem, took care of it by doing just that, lotsa modules!
I got the model d when it came out on pre order. It's def worth it! I was very use to my ms20 and 2 different synths. But the model d can sound huge and is a great synth. I have too many mono, but this pro1 clone will be my next!
Thank you very much.
I really enjoy watching your videos and I have learned a lot in the progress!
BTW: I like your sense of humor :-)
I am SO ready to watch this. Couldn't be more ready. Thanks!
Another brilliant review! Think I’m just gonna watch all of them! 👍
always happy to watch one of your videos
Thanks for your work. This is indeed really impressing. Need to check with my Pro-One as well since I know that also the SCI P1 Series differ amongst each other.
Amazing video once again. Thank you for these comparisons. :)
BLOODY ELL EH ! Who would have thunk it? Well i think we knew really, those of us happy to admit at least. Top stuff fella
Thx mate for this nice video i am happy that Behringer build this affordable synths.
Beautiful comparison, thanks for sharing!
Isn't that GoldFrapp Strict Machine bass line a good old KORG MS-20?
I would love to see the results of a proper blind test here...
I bought one myself ... very versatile for a mono .... first thing I did out of the box was create the patch for Yazoo “ don’t go “ 😂😂
Ironically that was made on an ARP 2600 :)/ Not to worry though, Behringer sell those as well :)
They are incredibly close ! Like you, I have the Original, but this maybe closer than the Model D's you reviewed? Nice work....
Obviously you do not want to get rid of your pro-one, right?
@@SerErris Not quite yet... I'm not "precious" about things and if the Behringer proves reliable and up to the job then I might consider selling it, even in it's poorly state. I need to find out just how much it will cost to get it back to it's best before I make a decision.
Just put bigger knobs on the Pro-1 … ? 😏
Great video! Fun presentation style as well!
I have the same set, and its Wonderful!!! CV and amazing!!!
Have you tried the Toraiz AS-1? It's not necessarily a Pro -0ne clone but Pro-one inspired. It sounds really nice though.
No but I’ve got the pro6 which it’s circuitry is borrowed from. Maybe I should investigate the mono capabilities of the pro6 a bit more.. ?
Yes! If/when you do, be sure to experiment with adding a few more voices in unison mode and defining/slop. I've been able to emulate some Minimoog sounds very closely with the P-6 as a result!
AS-1 is like having a modern Pro-one indeed
Starsky Carr I’d love to see an AS-1 vs pro one/pro-1 video. The AS-1 has different gain staging than the Prophet 6, so it’s a bit different of a sound
@@brentvalleywhag3477 yes this would be great!
Pro 1's are only £166 this week from Thomann... utter "no brainer" as Starsky comments . I owned a Pro 1 (and Pro V) back in the day and he's right, it's bang on. Cannot wait to get my hands on their Jupiter 8
New viewer here, and new sub! Excellent comparison. Great demonstration. Already have mine ordered. Thank you!
I can't wait for Behringer to finish the UBxa with 8 voices based on the same Curtis chipset :)
Neither can I :)
Only at 34:30, I felt quite a difference in envelope retrigger behavior on the soft bass patch, the original connecting notes much snappier, in comparison it's almost as if envelope didnt retrigger in the Bro 1... Was there any difference in setting there or is this the synth itself?
The Behringer envelopes are GARBAGE. TRUST ME. This thing is garbage. It's a toy.
Can you demonstrate the CV / Gate on the Pro-1 vs Pro-One?
?????
You are right to mention that 40's yo synth doesn't sound the same at the begining of their life ; that's why when you compare a RE-303 or a good diy X0XB0X with a TB303, the old TB sound "duller" (not bad though XD), when the value of the components used in the RE and X0X are measured to match "exactly" the original, that's the main reason imho that they sounds differents ;
Thank you for your work, and glad your channel grows !! You deserve it, you are very good at comparison and you have good taste
Only the RE 303 is a replica...
@@ArthurElectric both the RE and the X0X are diy synth so the quality depends on who build it and with what ;
TheOrangepeak no xoxbox is a clone and RE303 is a replica...
The sound is super close I would go with the behringer just for the reliability
Reliability have you tried behringers custom service its absolute trash. Might be easier fixing a old pro one.
it cant get any closer...great synth, that is, pro 1....might be their best clone yet. i love mine!
Just gotta say, I love your comparisons 👍
Great review..can't believe how similar they sound.👍🏻
The only dissapointment was the 'Only You' tone where the Behringer sounded a little dull (to my ears). I'm sure it's just a knob size issue....er...🤣
Just wish these had patch memories..patch sheets are a pain.
Thanks.. the only you sound is so difficult because of the interaction of the filt env amount, cutoff and reso settings plus keyboard tracking.
Starsky Carr
Hey...you get a 10 out of 10 for effort.👍🏻😎
I think I may have to get one of these as I always wanted a Pro 1 when I was a teen...and had to settle for a Red SH101 as it was about £150 cheaper.
Starsky Carr
Thanks for the info..it's a shame they didn't charge an extra £50 and add midi sys ex and a 100 patch memory...maybe they're saving that for the Mk.2!
Why is the filter on the Behringer slightly more closed than on the Pro-1? It's either that, or they're just really that different...
I want this one now too! My K2 and 808 arrives on Tuesday.
„Hope you enjoyed that ...“
I really do!
Envy is the companion of success.
awesome comparison, i'm sold...thanks!
mine is getting here tomorrow. Really looking forward to this one. It sounds fantastic.
Excellent! as usual! I need to buy me one ! 😃
There was a noticeable difference in a few specific tests, but if you asked me which was which, I wouldn't know. I would just know they're different.
Goldfrap intro, TAKE MY LIKE! :D
HornieCow haha thanks :) there’s actually a 1970s track with exactly the same synth bass line but I can’t remember what it was .. maybe someone will add to the comments.
@@StarskyCarr Was it a track by , " Blondie" ? , it does sound familiar .
Adamski A. I was thinking of the rah rah band track called the crunch. Just found it and it’s got the same rhythm but it’s not identical. Look it up on TH-cam... I saw it on a totp rerun very glam rock!
@@StarskyCarr Ahhhh yes I hear it now lol ✌🏾✌🏾
Great video. I’m so happy with mine 🙂
@MorbidManMusic They literally use the exact same parts.
@@GuyGamer1 lol you serious? Behringer is all surface mount
@@donpoulos Well lesee shall we.. not fixable in 40 years. Yep.. replaceable for the same cost to repair an og pro one in 40 years? Yep! But will something 10 times better be available? Probably.
You're costing me a fortune :-) great video (Well Behringer are)
What you're doing at 31:30 is worth the price of either unit. Phillip Glass meets Tangerine Dream.
He is brilliant, he sorted out my TB-303 for an incredibly reasonable price. New resonance, Switches and fitted the midibass 2 mod for less than £100.
One big and obvious difference is that the Sequential Pro-One has three octaves of keys and the Behringer has two.
Hah.. err.. the Behringer doesn’t have any, that’s a Korg controller :)
God I was so disappointed by the MS101, fortunately I have the SH101 but I don't have a Pro one so this was really the one I was hoping would nail it. I'm feeling really good about this one.
damn behringer is killing it..great demo..thanks~!!
The Toraiz AS1 is a modern Pro one, but with not enough knobs to teak 🤔
It's one I've overlooked - as it has been marketed as a DJ performance tool.. but turns out its basically a single voice Prophet 6. Looks great for the price - but you're right, it's a shame about the interface.
Starsky Carr yes thanks for your reply, I have one and the sound is solid 👍🏻
A great side by side. Just wondered if you’ve ever done a Pro 1 against your P6 (mono obviously!), are they similar as you might expect?
It’s on my list... coming soon ;)
Great channel. Great synth.
Looking from the window above, it's a story of love.... but for which one?
Ménage a trois
It's all I needed for another day.
Sounds great, can't wait to get one!
