Absolutely, please do, as it is always interesting to see what different people like and how they interpret how a unit best resides within their workflow or when revisiting a piece for experiments . I overlooked the Wasp and ended up with a West Pest somehow. The Wasp doesn’t do the same things but the sounds are there. The Wasp would have been a better choice for me workflow wise and they come up for an attractive price in the used market. I now think paired up, that a Wasp/West Pest could make for some serious West Coast meets UK semi modular generative mess.

Thanks for video! The Pro 1 bass and leads are it's best sounds imo. Very snappy if you like that for bass, I like it better tham Moog's for bass. The Cat is close to an Odyssey from what I have seen about it.
Thanks you really helped me get my bearings as a newb; I wasn't sure if the Pro 1 was good at bass or not. I'm leaning towards the pro 1 as you said you can defo get some ball-busting bass sounds plus some leads (without confusing the hell out of myself!). Like the idea of the on-board sequencer and arp to keep things simple at first too. Cheers.
The Pro 1 is one voice of the of the Prophet 5 and is capable of making any sound you can think of. Have you tried using the modulation section? All the early Yazoo stuff was mainly a Pro One. Japan used a Prophet 5 all over their tracks.
I have the Pro one and find it quite inspiring. The modulation matrix, the arpeggiator, the sequencer and the triggering options provide lots of options. I agree that it excels at bass sounds, although increasing resonance on the filter takes away some of the bass from the VCOs.
The Neutron seems to be a great semi modular synth. If you're new to synthesis in particular. I haven't tried one personally as it covers a lot of similar ground to what I have in my main modular. Best of luck!
It depends what you mean by that. If you mean can they integrate with Eurorack patch points, then they all do have some kind of semi-modularity, yes. If you want to mount them in a Euro case with Euro power, I believe so - though I personally wouldn't do that. I'd just get rack mount ears for them.
@@StephenMcLeod thanks, i was looking for some photos of mounting them in eurorack on internet and didn't find any of such picture, only rack mount ears stuff
I’m considering getting two or three of these behringer modules. I am a little concerned with tuning/calibration though, it seems most people complain about that. Have you experienced any issues with that?
I haven't. At least not outside of my experience with analogue synths in general. The Model D apparently always had tuning drift, and since this is a clone it makes sense that that is replicated.
@@StephenMcLeod so I ended up purchasing the K2, just received it today. It is completely out of tune, like horribly out of tune. I know analogue synths need time to warm up, I gave it a good 30 minutes and it’s still all over the place. The calibration is off as well. It’s a shame as I really did want to like it and keep it. It may just be my unit, but to be honest this experience alone has put me off exchanging it for another one. Will be returning it. Oh well, I gave it a shot haha.
I have just bought the Pro 1 and the K2 ( My old MS 20 is a little tired ) and I find I go to the Pro 1 for Bass more than the K2 both sound good mind - Great video
Great video man, I loved hearing your take on all of that!! Was hoping you would do a video like this lol ...I now understand why you don't have a K-2 and already having the mini makes total sense!! I was wondering about that, because it's one of my favorites, and I was going to tell you that your crazy and have to get one... But ok, we're good lol. Aaaaaand I think you've sold me on the WASP, for real, esp from your previous videos with it too!! 😎🐝🐀🐝🐀🐝🐀
I think your suit the wasp perfectly tbh. It's wild... And you can find them for like two hundred quid brand new. It's my favourite of the bunch. I love the MS-20 too!
Great video, subbed. I'm in a bit of a quandary with what to go for. I've just sold a Virus-C and I own a Wasp. I'm a romantic for very early 90's acid / techno and can't decide between the Pro-1 or K2. Snappy envelopes is high priority. I see you mentioned that that was an issue on the Pro-1. Was this ever resolved?
I just bought a Virus C ironically!! I believe the issue with the envelopes was fixed yeah. Out of the two you mentioned I would go with the Pro 1 personally.
Nice! congrats with the Virus-C - the only synth that ever violently shook my Beyer cans! Some of them patches are untamed and are WILD with the Sub osc / Saturation cranked up! Good shout with the Pro-1 Stephen, might even pair it up with a cheeky Kobol for the craic
@@GullySyde28 I think it has a very "specific" sound, have a look through some of my videos and you'll see what I mean. It's OK for bass duties but it's a simple synth and it's not that versatile for my kind of genre. It does sound nice and gnarly especially fed through an overdrive. What kind of sounds are you wanting out of it? Full disclosure: I sold the Wasp last week. I now have a Kobol which for an extra £50 over the Wasp, is a literal no-brainer. It's a fantastic mono synth
Hi!! Awesome explanation, but I am super noob. I need one of them to learn on. I don’t want to go into rack. I have a midi controller and want to add synth to my rock music. Which is a good solution to learn on and keep if get into it? Really dig model d sound or pro 1 but I’m scared on the tuning stability Thanks for the help
This was great, subbed! The only thing that would have made it even better IMO would have been some quick sound samples to illustrate your points of each one, but I guess the internet is full of those so no biggie
The sliders on the cat synth are more easily manipulated by actual cats. I've set up a patch, and come back later to find that my little kitty has been making his own patches. You can also make it sound like a robotic cat. I did and learned to play the meow mix song. Absolutely priceless.
@@StephenMcLeod did plugs into the regular port on the mx88 and it works fine on the mx88 but coming out of the mini Port connected to the model d it's not holding the note
Man, I'm grateful for Behringer doing this! Screw the "ethics" I can finally experiment hands on with this stuff! I think it's awesome! Music is for everyone! They have removed a barrier and made it accessible!!
I have most of them K2 ,Neutron ,Wasp, 2600 ,Crave , Pro 1 and a Roland System 1m I'm wanting all of them connected together but I can't find a manual or video to show me how to do it. Do you have any idea how to do this. I bought expensive books and they all fail to show me how to connect all my 16 synths together. Maybe it's impossible but I like to know one way or another. please any help is greatly appreciated.
It depends on what kind of connection you want and for why! To use it as one big poly synth I think you are best using something like an RK-006 MIDI interface - that might give you the most flexibility.
@@StephenMcLeod I am trying to use an 8 port midi thru box will this work also it seems all these have usb connections as well. if i''m using with a DAW would this work? I still have no sound
Great video. This lead me to my first insect-themed synth purchase, along with the AKAI Force and a Novation midi controller. I spent several hours tonight in vain trying to get them to play nice together, but I'm sure it will be worth it when I finally get the routing figured out...eventually (I'd love to see a photo of your midi routing). A month ago, all I had to worry about was my pedal board routing, and fussing with the intonation of my Jaguar. What have I gotten myself into? Oh well, enough about my troubles. Great video, and thanks for posting!
Nice one! I've not used the MIDI a whole lot with the Force yet, so I'll need to investigate that. The Jaguar is a lovely guitar! I have a JagStang. :D
I'm not really sure how to answer that unfortunately. The CAT probably has the most varied range of sounds that are easiest to get to - but they are all pretty capable.
I just got a K2 because, like you said, I wanted to learn from the extensive patch bay without needing two or more units to be patched together. It will be fun just learning what you already know about it for myself. Good job of just telling the facts of the features for each unit. Maybe you could demonstrate using a sequencer with the WASP? I have a beatstep pro and not sure how to connect it to the K2 for sequencing.
For the BeatStep Pro, you can just hook up the MIDI output to the MIDI input of the K2. You'll need to use the adapter for the MIDI Minijack that comes with the BSP though.
Which one do you think is best suited for a semi-beginner (it wouldn't be my first synth, but my first semi-modular though)? So many people tend to direct me to the Model D because it's "simpler" but I love the sound of the Cat and The Pro-One.
I don't think anything can substitute for "I love the sound of ..." -- that's a great motivator that money can't buy. Sometimes by "simpler" people really mean "more familiar" -- to themselves, not you.
@@StephenMcLeod Was it really that bad? Because it does kind of look cool. I've never seen anyone with tattoos on the palms of his or her hands though. Hm. I guess there's nothing to it but it do it if I really think it looks that cool. Thanks.
I think the ONLY ones complaining about the "Ethics" of cloning classic synths are those who own the originals and fear their priceless treasures would lose some wealth when all the "poor plebs" out there are suddenly able to have these synthesizers and their sounds available too. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with cloning electronic Instruments and making it possible for everyone to afford them. I own the Poly-D and personally that is about as CLOSE to me ever owning a MiniMoog Model D in any form and i am absolutely happy with it. Especially the feature additions of Uli's Clones are worth checking out modern incarnations of these classics. Because you can tell Uli is a HUGE nerd and loves these classic synths. The clones always feel like they pay tribute to their originals and with the Kobol they even bring back Synths that barely anyone even heard of back then. So going through these clones is like a history lesson. And i'm already looking forward to the Pro12, the DS80, the Behremin and the Polyvoks clone :) I have hopes that Behringer might release a revision of their Wasp clone that comes with a membrane keyboard as well.
I own a TR-808 and not at all threatened by the beh or Roland boutique clones at all. I do own the RD-9 and love it. I have other original models and love good new gear but not if it's weak sound or not reliable in whatever it's doing
Tack! I'll make it to Sweden one day. I've heard that about the CAT. I've played with an Odyssey, but didn't love it. It was a few years ago mind, and my knowledge of synthesis was far less, so who knows how I'd gel with it today.
Have you tried using the oscillator outs on the wasp? As far as I know, they’re only useful for feeding back in to the ext. sound port. I looked at the wasp manual online and there’s no explanation for them, 😂
Yeah. They're standard vco outputs from what I gather, so designed to output to a modular system primarily I'd imagine. Not sure how useful they would be for most folks without a v/Oct input mind you, but still...
The RD6? I might pick one up at some point as I like the 606 sound. It doesn't fit in this video though. The B2600 I probably will never get, as it is too close to my Eurorack.
First off, I could just listen to you talk about anything for an hour. Sottish people just sound brilliant, and it's great. The only one I own is the Model D, and that's what I'd recommend as the first choice. The MiniMoog is probably the greatest synthesizer design of all time and it was revolutionary when it came out. The sound of this appears on more songs than any other. It's a great live performance instrument and excels in almost every area--leads, bass, and chords. The Moog filter is classic and gives it a fat, resonant sound that's just beautiful. If you can afford the extra money, than the Poly D is even better--better in some ways than a real Mini that costs 5 times as much. I could see where a new user could find the Mini a little unintuitive at first, but, once you get used to it, it's the simplist and most intuitive synth that I know of. I still find Odysseys and 2600's to be unintuitive, but I can tell you what every knob and switch on a Mini does in semi-darkness on stage with almost no thought. The others might be nice to have also (I have some vintage monos that I keep around for kicks), but, honestly, the Model D is probably the only mono synth you'd ever need.
The Cat and Wasp modules ,the key versions the Odyssey and Ms1 . The Wasp is a synth who fit very good in a mix a nice sound a bit era Ms20 about The Cat this synthesizer is a all rounder who do it all from Moogy basses to strange percussion noise i serious love this synth. About the snappyness from the Pro 1 i owned the Prophet 600 ,MultiTrak ,Sixtrak,Prophet2000 and they had all the same leazy attack Prophet 600 was the weakest .
I don't know a huge amount about Boards of Canada I must admit, but I believe they used a Roland SH-101, so it would be worth keeping an eye out for the MS-101, or MS-1.
@@seanluke3052 It seems cool. It's a bit different to these as it's much more of a fully modular synthesizer. If you are interested in the world of modular but don't want to fall down the expensive rabbit hole immediately, this is probably one of the best options out there. It's on sale at the moment as well I believe. A friend of mine had one, and it was fun to explore. I found it pretty tricky to understand at first, but it would scratch that itch.
@@StephenMcLeod I've got one, just was wondering what your opinion was. It's a semimodular much like the Neutron is, so it's got a useful dedicated signal path without patching.
I actually find semi modular more confusing than modular, as it's harder to determine what the actual original pre patched signal path is. Though that could just be me. How do you like it?!
great overview friend. i'm not a big hardware user aside from a few devices... but anyone who is looking to buy one of these behringer clones will definitely find help in this video. btw, from all the demos i've heard of these clones... I actually think the Pro-1 is my favorite lol!
Thank you! I like the Pro-1 btw! It sounds fantastic, but it's just one of the less exciting of the remakes for me... but then I do like the weirder end of things, so that's no big surprise.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a highly entertaining and interesting way. I'm so thrilled to know that you like the wasp, I own two of those in addition to the lovely little Doepfer wasp filter. I suppose it's a wasp's nest of cables and good for making music on the fly. (Please excuse the terrible dad jokes and puns, I couldn't resist). I love the more '70s than the '70s beautiful melodies and harmonies from it. This model fascinated me in the 1980s because it was the first ever synth bought by the very wonderful Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb when he was a callow and enthusiastic young man. I will look forward to your future videos with great interest. All the best to you.
Thanks for the watch and the comment Francis! This video is pretty old now but the WASP remains my favourite! I also have the Doepfer filter, though I swear the one on the Behringer sounds better...
Liked the comparison on the remakes..I couldn't decide which behringer to get so i opted for the one with the biggest patchbay...the neutron...and it's been a great synth to learn on and have access to many different sounds.
But you can't just patch your K-2 into your other Eurorack synths. It needs an adapter. It would have been a lot nicer if Behringer made it use standard signal voltage so that it would be patch-able with other synths right out of the box.
Great point. I was pretty sure I mentioned that. Maybe not though. I think they would have gotten more criticism if they had changed the voltage format from Hz actually. That does make it trickier.
Hi, great video! greetings from Chile! I think that you can help me master, please... Wich Behringer synth can work better for do minimal house music. (K2, Pro 1, Wasp, Neutron, Model D. Crave, Cats, Deepmind 6) I search good bass, drones, glitch, blips, blops, leads and weird sounds. I produce music like Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh or Petre Inspirescu.
Hey! The Deepmind 6 is probably the most capable out of all of the ones you've listed there, as it's poly, though I can't 100% tie it to a specific genre that way. The CAT definitely is good for bleepy glitchy things - so that would probably be my choice.
@@StephenMcLeod One last question, I would like to know what you think of k2 with respect to deepmind 6 and cats since many minimal music artists use ms20
Because I already have a poly synth... So i been search a good modulesynth mono for glitch, bleeps, drones, etc... So my options are: K2, CAT, Pro 1, Crave, Model D or Wasp. please
@@pralu7223 I don't have a K2, so can't comment on that. I believe it's the least well loved of the mono synths though. If you want that, you'd be as well getting an MS-20 Mini. If you want weirdo bleeps, drones etc, like I said - CAT would be my choice, but all of them will be able to do similar.
before I say my say... I´ve got the Poly D, the Neutron and a mixture of Euroracks some from Erica, some made by myself and a fun thing called the system 100 sequencer (Beh). And the winner is... for first synth... Neutron. Why? The patchbay. You´ll learn a lot. Will get frustrated a lot. Will swear and sweat. But then you´ll be worthy of the rest.
Great video mate. The only obvious omission I could see here was the Neutron. It's my favorite and I wondered why it wasn't covered in your otherwise spot on overview. What up with that?
Cheers for watching! I didn't include the Neutron as I was mostly looking at/comparing the remakes of classic synths in this video. The Neutron is its own specific thing, and so it didn't quite fit what I was after, though I know a lot of folks like it a lot.
I have a Model D and Neutron and I'd love to add a Wasp to the collection. I feel the same way about the K2 and I'd rather wait for the Pro 800 instead of the Pro 1. There have been so many announced in this format too that I'm interested in like the Solina. I also have a TD3, RD6, MS1 and Deepmind12 and all of it sounds great. I also wonder why they didn't make The Crave in the same format as the other desktop synths. It would have been nice to put that in a rack with the Neutron with all the patching capabilities and the sequencer. It may sound silly but the form factor was the only reason I didn't get a Crave.
Oh yeah... I wonder why they didn't do that with the Crave. I guess it came first and they wanted to differentiate it, but the Mother 32 (which it seems to be based on) was in a bigger case. Odd!
Clocked the Boss half-rack fx in the background. Love those little boxes. Especially the sample-delay. I have a Pro 1 and a Cat, and currently wondering whether I need both. The Cat is an underrated, oddball one. I wouldn't mind getting a Wasp, too.
Most people I’ve talked to are suggesting the Nuetron to go with the Crave I ordered. Some reviews are good and some aren’t explaining as much of it as they could.
Good comparison! I have all 6 desktops and agree with your opinion ,and as for sliders ie the Cat ,are (imo) much more creative interface and visually superior to knobs (having Karp FS Odyssey and 2600 ,Behringer Cat and MS 101,Blue Marvin and a CS 20 M)and they are soo much more inspiring to make sounds on than my "flaggshipsynths" Moog ONE,REV2 and Virus TI 2. So for me all synths should have sliders like the vintage goodies JP8 and CS 80.Honest i REALLY DISLIKE knobs as a user interface on synths (take a envelope with sliders, you can actually see the curve graphical)suites me and makes it easy to set up and (re)create sounds fast.
@@dimensionstomorrow Sold all my Behringer desktops,in favour for new gear. But i liked all the desktops,Cat and Korgs Odyssey ,and even size matters to the sound and feel to a synth, had the "mini Odyssey" which sounded great but the feel and handling of the FS Oddy gives an ever better feeling/aura to it....imo of course.
Cool vid bro. Did you ever try out the Behringer Odyssey? Seems like a lot of synth for about £100 more than the modules.. Liking the jazz hand motions lol 🙆
Hey! My dad's a preacher, so I've clearly been affected by his gratitous hand flailings. I haven't tried the Behringer Odyssey actually, but you're right it's great value for money. I just knew he'd say Wasp. But, I'm dissappointed you didn't change into a yellow and orange shirt for the reveal. But, yeah, I agree, I like it best when they do slightly left of field, and not the most obvious synths. Well, I did until the Kobol, but mainly because it's ace with a modular. The Barp 2600 is no slouch either, for what it is does at the price. Was thinking it would be nice if they did a Jen SX1000, an Ensoniq SQ-80 & Fizmo. I like the idea of them doing what used to be the cheaper character synths. And I also think it would be cool if they stopped doing analogue synths and moved over to doing samplers like the ancient Akais, S900/950 etc... though I realise that is harder for so many reasons.
Dude! You have 1980s Roland half-racks! I also didn't get the K-2, but I can see this ready difference to the S-20: the size of the patch cables. Otherwise, I found it really hard to understand -- almost as difficult as the Odyssey (but that's another story). The Boog, I suspect, was Behringer's salvo-across-the-bow to the music world. I don't immediately understand it either, which is part of what makes it interesting. In contrast, the Wasp is simple **and** idiosyncratic. I didn't expect it to be at all interesting, just figured I'd use it for simple background sounds. But it's fantastically unique, and -- I agree -- immediate. For me, it was a real confidence-builder. Ha ha! I agree, the Pro1 does lack idiosyncracies; no real character. Very solid. Great basic analog synth. The Cat I got because I enjoyed the Wasp so much. Again, I completely agree with your point: interface strongly affects results. Like the Wasp, I have no real expectations; it's just for additional minor backgrounds.
The MS20 looks great, iconic even. The K2 looks shite. So that's decided for me. I like synths with keyboards. I wish they'd made a wasp with the weird keyboard. Suppose I'll have to make do with the Arturia Freak. Nice video. You definitely have the gift of the gab (or whatever the Scottish version of that is).
Haha cheers! Aye, I use my Wasp with the Freak as well. The original Wasp keyboard was apparently glitchy, so the Freak is a nice stand in. I agree on the K2 as well - the MS-20 just looks amazing.

Cheers.
Hey! Glad this was useful. Cheers for watching!
Put a Pro1 through a Octave pedal and you have as much power as a Taurus. Watch your speaker cones when going to the filter cutoff!!!
Yeah that sounds lethal, may need a bass limiter in that line up!
The Pro 1 is one voice of the of the Prophet 5 and is capable of making any sound you can think of. Have you tried using the modulation section? All the early Yazoo stuff was mainly a Pro One. Japan used a Prophet 5 all over their tracks.
I have indeed. I am but a modest man of limited capabilities!
Richard Barbieri of Porcupine Tree?
Great reviews & opinions thank you
Cheers for watching!
I have the Pro one and find it quite inspiring. The modulation matrix, the arpeggiator, the sequencer and the triggering options provide lots of options. I agree that it excels at bass sounds, although increasing resonance on the filter takes away some of the bass from the VCOs.
the cat has two sub oscillators also all wave shapes can be used at the same time it a bass monster!
It's a beauty!
Great content❤. Have the behringer neutron. Gonna check out the wasp. Thanx again. And yeah, you didn't talk sheit.
Haha thanks!
Hi, nice video!! what's your opinion on the Neutron? I'm asking as from my little online quest, it seems to be the best capable of all... Thanks
The Neutron seems to be a great semi modular synth. If you're new to synthesis in particular. I haven't tried one personally as it covers a lot of similar ground to what I have in my main modular. Best of luck!
Thanks man! great review :D
Glad it was useful!
Are all these Behringer synths eurorack compatible?
In the market for some affordable hardware synths to spark my music and I really enjoyed your breakdown of the synths. Thanks for doing this.
Glad it was helpful!
I love the MS-20 too!
thank u for this. helped a lot
Thanks a lot! I'm glad. Cheers for watching.
The Kobol looks real nice tbf @@Alpha-DX
what do you think of the WASP?@@Alpha-DX
Really dig model d sound or pro 1 but I’m scared on the tuning stability

If tuning stability is an issue go for the pro 1. The model d infamously has drift.

Nice work fella.
How does the Pro 800 compare?
That's a fairly new release and one that I haven't personally been able to try out.
This was great, subbed! The only thing that would have made it even better IMO would have been some quick sound samples to illustrate your points of each one, but I guess the internet is full of those so no biggie
a bit more synth 'on camera' would be useful and maybe some sounds could improve the subject covered .
Noted!
Neutron? Thanks for this video. I'm looking at the cat
I've not tried the Neutron! I didn't include it in this as it's not a remake of a classic. Lots of folk seem to like it though.
@@StephenMcLeod very true
The sliders on the cat synth are more easily manipulated by actual cats. I've set up a patch, and come back later to find that my little kitty has been making his own patches.
You can also make it sound like a robotic cat. I did and learned to play the meow mix song.
Absolutely priceless.
Thankfully my dog does not interfere with my synths.
First time viewer...thought I was being punked by Ryan Gosseling at first. 😂 Thanks for the vid!
Thank you. My Model D connected to Yamaha mx88 sustain pedal does not hold the note on the Model D... any ideas ?
What port are you plugging the sustain pedal into?
@@StephenMcLeod did plugs into the regular port on the mx88 and it works fine on the mx88 but coming out of the mini Port connected to the model d it's not holding the note
A couple of years on, but still really, really useful.
I can't believe this video still gets so many views!
Also, what about the Cat? I had one and sold it.
The Cat is in there!
Man, I'm grateful for Behringer doing this! Screw the "ethics" I can finally experiment hands on with this stuff! I think it's awesome! Music is for everyone! They have removed a barrier and made it accessible!!
Do oscillators need to be calibrated on the Wasp like on say the Pro-1 or because Ethel are digital I don’t need to do that? I’m pretty green sorry
I am not 100%, but I haven't had to calibrate mine!
@@StephenMcLeod thanks, and damn I need to start proof reading
what's that large sequencer behind your left shoulder?
The grid thing? That might be the Monome 256.
Which of these has the most options/can do the most experimental sounds WITHOUT going modular???
I'm not really sure how to answer that unfortunately. The CAT probably has the most varied range of sounds that are easiest to get to - but they are all pretty capable.
@@StephenMcLeod you're not sure which of these has the most functionality?
No. It's not as straightforward as comparing them in that way. How are you defining functionality?
I’ve got the Pro 1, Monopoly, and just Ordered the Wasp. Of the other Behringer monos which might add something different sound wise?
I think the CAT would be the most interesting to try out!
You did a fine job, nice👍🏻
Why thank you!
I think any of them would be good, in all honesty. They're all interesting and well priced. If you like the look of the CAT then go for that!
@@StephenMcLeod Noted. Thanks for answering and for your videos :) Please, keep making them! ps Happy new year!
I don't think anything can substitute for "I love the sound of ..." -- that's a great motivator that money can't buy. Sometimes by "simpler" people really mean "more familiar" -- to themselves, not you.
Great to see another synth fan who has benefited from this Behringer boom. There are positives
Agreed. I'm not really convinced about the default hate for Behringer.

@@StephenMcLeod oh sorry, and great vid, as usual. 😄
Don't apologise! I'm not entirely surely why they were included haha. It's a... Curious choice.
Not reviewing the TD6 or the B2600?
Hell yeah. Thanks! The Poly D can be picked up for really crazy low prices as well! I've seen them for about £400, which is mad.
I bought the lot as well, lost a lot of my old monos years ago, so was nice to hear them again 👍👍👍
Nice one. What ones did you used to have?!
Neutron, MG, K2,Wasp,Pro1, Deepmind12👍 have around 70 synths of different types 👍
I got the Pro-1 but secretly always wanted the Model D.
They pop up every so often for decent prices!
Thanks for commenting! It's awesome that we have access to all of these kinds of synths now for a decent price.
@@StephenMcLeod You are right !
I m curious for the Vcs3 , The Kobol , Ms5 , Polivoks .
Me too!
Which would you recommend for someone who loves the Boards of Canada sound?
I don't know a huge amount about Boards of Canada I must admit, but I believe they used a Roland SH-101, so it would be worth keeping an eye out for the MS-101, or MS-1.
Wait, what about the 2600?
This video pre dates the 2600 I believe.
@@StephenMcLeod Ah my bad then. So... how about the 2600?
Finally a reviewer who does not talk shite. Thank you.
Haha I wouldn't dare suggest I fall into that category, but appreciate it!
Liked the comparison on the remakes..I couldn't decide which behringer to get so i opted for the one with the biggest patchbay...the neutron...and it's been a great synth to learn on and have access to many different sounds.
I need to try out the Neutron some time!
Crave, Cats, Deepmind 6)
I search good bass, drones, glitch, blips, blops, leads and weird sounds.
@@StephenMcLeod ok ok I understand but between MS 20 mini and CAT witch one is better with more stuffs... please crack :D

I've never used any of the old ones, so I am probably the wrong person to ask about that! Though from what I've heard, they are meant to be very good.
Awesome video! I feel like the Neutron is probably my favorite module from behringer, but the wasp is a close second place!
I need to get my hands on a Neutron...
before I say my say...
I'll need to try the Neutron one day.
Odd!
I am going to pick up some monosynths from behringer Poly D, Monopoly, and the 2600 and a polysynth deepmind 12d
Nice setup!!
what about the Neutron?
Not included as it isn't a classic mono synth repro.
Clocked the Boss half-rack fx in the background. Love those little boxes. Especially the sample-delay.
I have a Pro 1 and a Cat, and currently wondering whether I need both. The Cat is an underrated, oddball one. I wouldn't mind getting a Wasp, too.
Yeah! I've got a couple of them. They are pretty weirdo things. The WASP is my favourite so would definitely consider that.
Nice sharing 🤫👍

Not in this! Only doing the remakes here. Neutron is its own beast.
Most people I’ve talked to are suggesting the Nuetron to go with the Crave I ordered. Some reviews are good and some aren’t explaining as much of it as they could.

The wasp is my favourite too and it does look really really lovely ✌️
It is a lovely thing.

I'll have to look up Garth Ennis!
All of them :D
A perfectly acceptable response haha
Hell yeah. I love those Roland half racks! They can do some weird and wonderful things :D They are getting a bit pricey now mind...
@@StephenMcLeod -- indeed -- hence my surprise at seeing them. But that's the compressor I used on all my demos way back when, and I still have it
The MS20 looks great, iconic even.
I agree on the K2 as well - the MS-20 just looks amazing.
hey all my friends are synths too
(tm)
The Cat is a convincing clone. Had one way back, swapped it for a ms10 but missed it madly.
It's a real nice synth!
For an “opinion “ video. There is a ton of excellent information here. Thanks for this vid!
Hey thanks! This is an old and weird video at this point so I am glad it's still useful!!
