    I couldn't agree more. Everytime the show had an iconic scene from the game with the same dialogue, I felt a disconnect kind of like I was watching a fan-made re-enactment. It very much watered down the emotional impact of those scenes.
    What I found especially puzzling though was, that when Ellie started reading from the joke book, they used the same jokes from the game. Like, it wasn't really the specific jokes that endeared us to Ellie, it was her infectious child-like joy. Hearing the same jokes recycled, I felt like I was being pandered to as a fan of the game.
