    If im being honest i didn't have a problem with joels death i think for the story they were trying to tell it was necessary for joel to die however maybe they could of dragged it out abit longer like instead of going to abbies friends joel and tommy take abbie back to jackson were abbie sneaks out takes joel and then we get his death. However i think maybe having joel appear in the present day might of been good as well. Like during the journey to the hospital joel acts as your ghostly companion taughting ellie and questioning why she's doing this. Making ellie reaslise that she's becoming the person that joel used to be but ellie doesn't care.

    Joel could have allowed the doctors to create the vaccine. I find it difficult to understand why he became so emotionally attached to Ellie. Despite the numerous challenges they encountered on their way to the hospital, Joel’s decision was not entirely logical. His mental state was questionable, and someone truly committed to saving the world would not have resorted to shooting the doctors

    Ppl say Joel killed innocent people,a MILITARY OFFICER KILLED HIS EFFING DAUGHTER do u think that was wrong?no right then how tf is joel killing innocent ppl wrong? Wait no one is innocent in an apocalypse like you're delusional if u think so.abby's dad didn't want to inform JOEL that ellie was gonna die and was ready to kill her and we dont really know his past so stop saying he's INNOCENT. Well neither is joel or ellie or abby all are mf humans.in fact i shot Abby's dad in the leg, but in the second game it shows him brutally bleeding and shot in the chest like its PLOT ARMOR IS CRAZY CRAZILLY BAD...

    Joel sleeps beside Henry and Sam after they try and shoot him an Ellie. If anything him trusting Abby was more realistic considering she didn’t directly threaten his life before hand. This is also a very shallow way to look at values. Characters have values yes. Everyone does, but values don’t permanently stay in place. They change. Constantly. Even an honest man might lie once in a while. It’s how humans work.

    Joel is a survivor. He kill people , people kill him. It’s fair. But Joel is not dumb and he won’t dead in a stupid way. By the way, if my dad murdered by someone like a old dog. I will revenge until the end of the world. Nothing will stop me. And I don’t care what ever reason.

    The Last Of Us Part 1 was about a broken and sad man finding an actual reason to live. Until he found that reason, he was very apprehensive about everything. After he found Ellie, these values shifted. He was finally content again and less apprehensive. So no, I don’t think there was any problem in the scene. Over the first game, his values did change

  • @nikoleo4616
    @nikoleo4616 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    i dindt think there was a "betrayal of Joels values", we have to remember last time we saw this character was 4+ years prior to the events of tlou 2. People change a lot in 4 years especially when they go from living in precarious situations to a much more comfortable and relaxed life. The only conflict in Joels life at the moment of his death was fixing his relationship with Ellie, which he had just done the day before he died. Taking all of that into account i think his decision for trusting Abby was pretty justified. Also he doesn't just blindly trust her, they're in a tight situation, he doesn't have many other options besides trusting Abby in that moment and even then he asks questions and u see him looking around trying to assess his situation. I don't think the audience needs to be SHOWN that Joes value system has changed because it's something you're expected to inherently know going into the second game, if not because of the fact his new community oriented lifestyle would most likely make him less vigilant and ruthless , then for the fact that the entire 1st game is about how his journey with Ellie changed him and his values, it makes him open himself back up and embrace love. He becomes "softer", more trustingIts. I think it was beautifully tragic: This new found love reforms him, turns him into a better man, and ultimately, that same love leads him to make a careless mistake that results in his death. Honestly as i played i thought this was very well set up and worked very well but that's just my interpretation of the whole thing.

  • @Shane_111
    @Shane_111 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What? I kind of disagree. The audience should be aware that alot of time has passed. He has spent years in a safe environment that is very reminiscent of a life before the apocalypse and along with all the notes in the guard towers that you can read as Ellie (before the player sees joel trusting abby) that say how joel and tommy have been saving people while out on patrol. Yes it could have been done better but that argument can be made about everything else in our universe. When jeol made a dad joke to Ellie in the first twenty minutes made me realise jeol has changed. But maybe you needed a little more to, just watch videogamedunkeys video on this game it will make you a better person.

    I personally didn't like killing Thanos first in endgame because he gets replaced with a lesser version of himself that basically has no dramatic tension with any of the characters that they built up in Infinity War. I get that Thanos in the beginning has no reason to fight at all, but basically bringing in a hollow version of the villain wastes any character drama it could've had.

    should have got rid of Tommy, then Joel and Ellie could have tracked down Abbey and her gang....would have been less controversial and a much better game...take someone I loved, I take someone you loved and who better than his brother...this makes sense ! But when the director/writer is a bit of feminist you get this instead.......

    I appreciate Abby taking some time going through the golf bag to making the decision to pick a 9 iron. It’s actually the best one considering the tip is pretty firm and club head weight is high leading to some impact energy and it’s also still long enough in relation to the flex to gain some lever action.

    I personally enjoyed both parts of TLOU plus the story it told and I think what we're forgetting is that TLOU tries to present a realistic story with realist characters and motivations. And in the real world, people are flawed as shit and can be selfish, hot headed, don't think things through etc especially when put in the worst situations. And this is true for characters like Abby. She and her friends know that torturing and brutally killing a man is downright bad, maybe even evil, but she doesn't care. In her eyes, she lost the only person that ever even meant anything to her and at a young age too. She doesn't care how her actions are gonna affect her or other people, she just wants revenge because that's what she thinks is gonna bring her peace. Everyone grieves and mourns in a different way and that was hers. Sometimes when were pushed into some dark corners in life, we wind up doing really bad things. Abby is a good example but also don't forget what Joel did to save Ellie including killing all those soldiers who probably didn't deserve it. That's just how life is and how the world works. We might not like it but that doesn't make it any less a true. It's a reality we must accept or at least learn to live with. Edit: And another thing to add that I think makes the story even better is how Abby's actions were driven by vengeance and for most of the game the same is true for Ellie but in the final moments, she was able to see that this cycle of vengeance is like a two headed rat-viper, while you watch your enemy go down, you are being poisoned yourself. So she decides to let it go and that shows serious emotional and mental growth when you're able to put such traumatic events behind you and move on, not letting them affect your life and cause you to make poor decisions. Finally Ellie can begin her journey of grieving and mourning Joel healthily. That's something really amazing and it's also something that Abby was not able to achieve. So it really goes to show you how these characters are similar yet still differ
