I have had my 2024 C8 HTC Stingray for a year and just had the first free oil change done(4,600 miles). I plan to have it done annually no matter the number of miles. After spending $90k on the car,I am not going to cut corners due to the cost of an oil change. So far,I have not had any problems with the C8...and I love it!
That's a great way to look at it, but it's not cutting corners or being cheap if you servicing something when it says to be serviced. GM said change the oil when the indicator gets under 10%, or every 7500 miles. The indicator will read 0% between 12-16 mos depending on driving habits. The car uses synthetic oil for high performance vehicles, which is 10k mile driving oil for aggressive driving. Changing it so early and frequently is more wasteful than anything but it's your car and preserve the life the way you see fit. I put about 8k-miles on my car a year and service it when I shut it down for the season or get ready to break it out for the next one; but typically once every 12-14 mos.
4:34 I called that ticking in my 2001 Corvette the "Singer sewing machine" sound. It was normal in LS motors. The LT1 in my 2017 GS didn't have it at all.
The Achilles heal of the 6.2 is cylinder deactivation. This has been a problem in multiple GM vehicles. The 5.5 does not have cylinder deactivation. Go for the Z06. 😊😊
