The Doobies were ahead of my time but I have to thank my parents for keeping those old records in the basement. One of the first albums I ever purchased was The Doobie Brothers album, so to hear "Nobody" re-recorded like this is something special. I must give credit to this band for being so influential not only in my guitar playing but for being the soundtrack of many amazing memories of my life. Thank you Doobie Brothers.
Still rockin` with the Doob`s since the mid 70s. World Gone Crazy is up there with The Captain and What were once vices. I had one lifetimes ambition in January when I got to the MSG to see the New York Rangers. My only other one is to see The Doob`s live. Something I never managed. Then again, they never came to Scotland much. Maybe I`ll get back to the States again to see them. Who knows?
As The First Honorary Member of The Doobie Brothers(and still am)I know that Nobody is bettter than these guys. NOBODY. What a great remake! They played this last August in Harrisonburg, Va. I paid $35 for 2nd row, right center. When Tommy went to scowling less than halfway thru like he does when he's got that intense concentration on his lead singing & lead guitar playing, I did the Pied Piper thing and led about 2,000 to front stage. Pat handed me one of his guitar picks! Mindblowing!
I can't believe that these guys aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet, unless they're keeping the best for last. JEEEZ, I hope they get in THIS year!!
Terrific remake of a great Doobies song. The video is a perfect compliment. Great editing. The "oooooooooo's" and the guitar riffs still give me chills. These boys can flat sing and play. Thanks for this.
Nobody gonna take awesome classic music from me rock on. Sounds just as good when they first started rockin. Wish we still had normal music like this playing the air waves.
Been a lifelong fan! An absolute travesty that they aren't in the Rock and Roll HOF! Don't know of any groups except for maybe the Eagles and Pink Floyd with the musical and singing talents the Doobies have always had.
Good to see the Doobies go back to their roots by revamping one of their very early songs. I heard this song for the first time at a Doobies concert in 1975 and it was not new then having been released in 1971. No Michael McDonald or Skunk Baxter in the video as neither were part of the line-up when this song was released. They were both busy with Steely Dan or some other band at the time. I always thought they should re-do this song since it came out in obscurity before anyone knew them.
I've been a Doobie fan ever since I can remember (I'm 58 years young.) I'm speechless after watching this new video. Thank you so much for including an old classic *Nobody* on your video and thank you for all the years of your music. Long live The Doobie Brothers. Long live Rock and Roll. It doesn't get any better than this folks. I can't wait for the new studio album.
Glad this fabulous band managed to re-record their own song from their debut album... released only a year before their success with albums such as "Toulouse Street" and "The Captain and Me". The Doobies make great music!
Yep, just like then the wars are raging and testing our hearts and souls...Peace love and happiness again....thats what I'm looking for.....hello world!
The Doobies just continue to rock! What an incredible first single from their upcoming album! I heard them do this song "live" this summer when they were on tour with Chicago! For the life of me, I can't understand why two great bands like Chicago and the Doobies aren't in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame! What an oversight on someone's part!
would have to rate this band as in the top 5 of all American bands - had Johnston not left, who knows how many more great tunes we'd be stomping our feet to !! nice tune to bring back - they sound great and i wil be the first to pick up the cd..thanks Dubes !!!!
This has been a favorite since before it was even released the first time. I grew up in Northern Virginia and associated with musical types who had been in a band which included Little John(Hartman), DB's original drummer. Little John brought back a tape when he returned home before their first national tour with Tracy Nelson & Mother Earth, another WB/Reprise act.. This redo is pretty damned close to capturing the magic the original had. Nice stuff
God love - and long live - this band. Get well soon Big Mike and Skylark. You are missed very much. Good luck with the rest of the tour guys, and we look forward to the new album. Remember, a little bit of the wind at your back is a coming from the seacoast of New Hampshire. Hope to see you back in Portsmouth or Hampton soon.
They have they sound of the Capt.nMe /Toulousa Street days. I like that. Still keepin' on 4 decades later. Old guns n looks like some hired young guns - the spirit is still there. More decades please.
Outstanding, sounding better than ever. I tell my kids (who are in their 20's & when I see them) How many bands from YOUR era do you think will still be rockin & soundin this good 30 years after their beginning?! Exactly.
An album from The Doobies is like a rare visit from the crazy yet still cool uncles at Xmas dinner. They may have aged but they're still the life of the party and everyone is glad to see them.
A great remake of one their own classics. This originally was on their first album I believe. After forty years, the Doobies have not lost their touch.
There's a philosiphy I've always believed about musicians. You can tell why they got into the business by how long they stay in the buiness. If they got into it for the money, they disappear after a few years, if they got into to make music, they run full speed 'til the day they die. Light up the Doobies.
Wow. is all I can say. Very poetic and classy. I want your music at my wake. I wanna go from this world a "Brother" Slide up side my cycle and watch the broken lines fly.
Really nice to see all the old video clips. I've always loved this song. I've got my tix to the show in Salt Lake the end of August. Can't wait. It's been too long.
YES!!!!!!!!!!! real doobies vintage sound!!!!!!! DEADLY SOUND! THIS SHOULD BE A NUMBER ONE HIT IF THE KIDS NOWADAYS ARE NOT COMPLETELY TONE DEAF!!!! HAHA Awesome Doobies! Tommy we love your voice!!!! Keep Rockin Pat! you guys are incredible! Saw you 2 yrs ago and still vibrating!!!! Tim
Wow!...These guys haven't lost a note! Their sound, beat, and harmony are as crisp and clean as ever. The Doobie Bros. have never sounded better. Thanks for giving us more!
OH MY GOD!!!!! I feel 16 again.......seriously this is straight up amazing!!! going out right NOW to buy this album. I loved the Doobies then.....I love them NOW!
This is the first band I have seen with continuity like this. They are exactly the same band musically. I have seen many " bands ", which are now 1 - 3 remaining members, the most important of whom either cannot sing or play anymore, and I wonder why they don't do something else. The only problem with this video is that it is so darn exciting and intense. This is just about the happiest music of its kind, very relaxing and pleasing. They have something special in rock, which the video ignores.
What a great song. First time hearing it! I hope this becomes a big hit. This is just as good if not better than anything you can hear today on rock or country radio. Great great stuff.
Awesome tune awesome video, my wife and I have tickets to see the Doobies in Tulsa 9/30/10 they're playing at the Joint, looking forward to it. Not many bands this good still out on the road, see them while you can. Thanks Doobie Brothers
I saw them this summer with my 20 year old son, Pat Simmons just blew him away. Awesome musicians.Old rockers that got better with time. Hall of Fame has to call.
PURE DOOBIE BROTHERS! GOD LOVE THEM! Awesome. That sound and voices took me back many a year! At age 49 now, I appreciate the Doobie Brothers more than ever! I will be buying this! Fine wine does get better with age! GREAT JOB GUYS! LOVE IT!
Once again the Doobies knock one out of the ballpark! i too love the ole '70s footage. As Duke would say..... "Roll that beautiful bean footage!" Oh...and Pat...just FYI, we couldhave done w/o the "MOON".....LOL Oh & I want Pat's ES-335!
Have "Live At Wolf Trap" DVD + have played the livin dog crap out of this song for years, Super rendition, and long time Dube Bro Fan, Carry on dudes!!
I heard the doobie brothers few days ago in a game with "long train runnin' " and I was pretty amazed and searched for some other titles from this band. I just wanted to say that it's realy cool rock. And I'm starting to realy liking it. nice. Now my day is saved. ^^ btw I'm 24, so ScooterKesler you can see even young people (starting to) like this band :D
Tell me you can't close your eyes and see yourself back in the 70's while listenin' to this music!!!!!
Nobody, but Nobody beats the Doobies!!
xx Barb
Thank God, there's STILL a group like the Doobies out there that can still play REAL music.
This is a re-recording of their first single off their very first album from 1971. This new version is really good.
This group id so underrated.
im so glad i was in high school when this stuff was out.. god the 70's were great!
Still rockin` with the Doob`s since the mid 70s. World Gone Crazy is up there with The Captain and What were once vices. 1:41 is my favorite part, that kind of skill is something that rockers dont show anymore
I can't believe that these guys aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet, unless they're keeping the best for last. JEEEZ, I hope they get in THIS year!!
DAYUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!...whatta flasback video!!!!!..Thanks for reviving memories from the early 70's......DAYUMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
The Doobie Brothers are like the cool uncles you looked up to as a kid that everyone liked. They are older and wiser but still cool.
Terrific remake of a great Doobies song. The video is a perfect compliment. Great editing.
The "oooooooooo's" and the guitar riffs still give me chills.
These boys can flat sing and play.
Thanks for this.
tom johnston and pat simmons are the two of the best! God bless em!
The Brothers Doobie have nailed it again! This version kicks it in son many ways! BRAVO
The Doobie Brothers are legends and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame does not deserve them!
Tom just sounds great, this track sounds like it could have come off of "The Captain and Me".
Efffing spectacular.
These guys can still rock after 40 years. Is it any wonder they're my FAVORITE band??
These guys are the best, all time greats. REAL MUSIC!
Nobody gonna take awesome classic music from me rock on.
Sounds just as good when they first started rockin.
Wish we still had normal music like this playing the air waves.
They still have that sound.
Been a lifelong fan! An absolute travesty that they aren't in the Rock and Roll HOF! Don't know of any groups except for maybe the Eagles and Pink Floyd with the musical and singing talents the Doobies have always had.

I love how they mixed in the old footage with the new! I love it when the old masters come back and show us how it's done.
Beautiful. The harmonies are exquisite. These guys are the best.
Glad this fabulous band managed to re-record their own song from their debut album... released only a year before their success with albums such as "Toulouse Street" and "The Captain and Me". The Doobies make great music!

Man, that doughboy sounds sweet in that song. I will buy this tomorrow!
The Doobies just continue to rock! What an incredible first single from their upcoming album! I heard them do this song "live" this summer when they were on tour with Chicago! I'm only 16 and my Uncle told me about this song... Let it be known that EVERYONE at my school will now know of The Doobie Brothers.
Love the old 70's clips. The Doobie Brothers classic rock sound is up there with the best of em.
Outstanding, sounding better than ever. I tell my kids (who are in their 20's & when I see them) How many bands from YOUR era do you think will still be rockin & soundin this good 30 years after their beginning?! Exactly.
The Doobie Brothers are what the seventies were all about!!
Great new album that will take you back to better days!
The Uniqueness that the Doobie Brothers are lives on and on. Great new music carries on their legend!
An album from The Doobies is like a rare visit from the crazy yet still cool uncles at Xmas dinner. They may have aged but they're still the life of the party and everyone is glad to see them.
I love this video. Plenty of shots of Tiran, Keith and Little John. It's funny how McD and Skunk were left out, though.
The boys sound awesome! Close your eyes and listen again- this could have been any any album from the 70s- Great just Great
A great remake of one their own classics. This originally was on their first album I believe. After forty years, the Doobies have not lost their touch.
More mature, still sound fantastic and always entertaining. Can't wait to purchase their new release. Forward to the R&R Hall of Fame.
There's a philosiphy I've always believed about musicians. You can tell why they got into the business by how long they stay in the buiness. If they got into it for the money, they disappear after a few years, if they got into to make music, they run full speed 'til the day they die. Light up the Doobies.
