I really enjoyed this video. It not only will be a great introduction for new collectors but you definitely gave a great detailed account of what the average consumer might not know or understand. I didn’t know this in the beginning of collecting 2019. Thank you Mr! You did great.
Captain Carrot with articulated ears? Sold! I got to look out for that one. I do prefer if it was a little more bulky. In the comics, he was quite muscular….

Didn’t the Gold Label Hazmat Batman have light up functions? At the beginning, I thought Gold Label figures all have special features. Sadly, that is not the case.
Digital signatures are not real signatures. If the signature is printed on the product, that is not a “real” signature. Todd should be actually signing each card to be charging an extra $10 or whatever…
This was great. Reminded me of how Scott the Woz groups sub-categories together for video games, something I didn't know I needed in figure form and this definitely works! Great stuff 👍
The blacklight Mr freeze was actually in the colors of his earliest appearances.
The labels are just stupid. I could care less if it's labeled "Gold", "Platinum" or whatever. They are all the same figure repainted with a sticker slapped on the box. I ignore the labels because they are meaningless to me.

great video David. From all the info Ive found They switched to the platinum so it pushes cases for the Guarantee of the variant Its 1 in each case and also push the sale of cases on his site which pop up from time to time . I think they did a sale price on cases a little bit ago b4 christmas .
Supergirl deserves to be a wider release.

I have the Warhammer 40K genestealer Platinum while I like the changes to the sculpt I had to add some paint to the ridge on the head to make it look better and hit the figure with a wash so it would really stand out
Catman isn't really "out there" as if you want to be lazy about it, just recolor Batman without bothering to give him different accessories or a different face sculpt [Mattel got his stubble right]. Still, I'm just happy that 2 whole Catman figures even exist in the first place. I'll take anything Villains United/Simone-era Secret Six; she catapulted Catman into being one of my favorite characters.

For some reason some of the Gold Label and Platinum Editions are the much more accurate paint than the original release thats the only reason why I go for the for example the Gold Label The Batman: Catwoman has the accurate head with the mask not entirely down and also that goggles up Batfleck.
Unfortunately the b/w red hood couldn’t come with his desert eagles because of the dc no guns bs
If an assortment is priced a certain amount then every figure has to be that same price (unless its bigger and an increase in price is needed). The TNBA Batgirl is smaller than the Batman but it can’t be sold for less. The price is within a contract and all figures in a wave must be the same price. This is why Batgirl is still $30. Likewise Super7’s Thundercats Snarf is $55 just like all the others. Everyone complains but it cant be sold for less legally (outside of clearance of course). Bigger figs can be more but that has to be laid out in the contract.
Wonder Woman is my second favorite superheroine after Green Lantern (Hal). That being said, while of course I value the traditional style, I´m already used to the Greco-Roman skirt modern cotume and that´s why I´m waiting to get her.
In contrast to Green Lanter that I´d get (almost)every version available.

I like Steel but I hate the regular release every time I see him he has all these blue splotches or streaks and I think it looks dumb but the platinum edition looks good just needs that red cape, I haven't been collecting McFarlane DC guys for that long but I'm generally happy with what I receive for the price point the only problem I usually have is the ankle joint the figures always seem like they are leaning forwards or backwards
DC Direct was doing sketch edition figs years ago.
If a fig has a digital version, we’ll get a physical. Those digital figs will eventually go away since no one likes nfts so they dont make money which means they wont last long.
This may entirely be just my issue. I'll start by saying this. I enjoyed the video. It was a good start to the various issues with McFarlane Toys. The discussion about the release being reprinted with different filaments and resins. It really took me out of following your advice or thoughts about things. I get the different feeling of the plastics/vinyls used. It might be the lack of color added to the base materials that gives the differing feel. The way you tried to describe it as a 3D print instead of injection molded really threw me out of the conversation.

Mcfarlane's recent TDK platinum fig decisions (and some others) have been outright nonsensical on their own and seriously frustrating if you have limited access (live in another country, live in locations where stores aren't loaded with product, can't live on the internet waiting for drops, etc).
Yes, I've lost interest in the Platinum raffles. At least sometimes people seem to actually win those, though.
agree, some of the gimmick releases are weird, still happy to have the Patina edition Batman the Merciless, overpriced reuse but for me worth it, was the cheapest way to get the last member of the Batmen from Hell. But here in germany we get some of the figures months later, even the Fighting the frozen Page Punchers wave gets released sooo slowly
only Jokerized wave I like n own is the Dark Knight Trilogy... I just need the regular wave
I just don’t understand why they double down on the hazmat suit Batman they give them so many like unique variants for a dull figure
Haz Mat Batman was a huge peg-warmer which is why you wont see anymore light up figs. Its clogging up every walmart to this day. He did a frickin Sketch version too.
there are a few more in the Mcfarlane pipeline . The pricing for the led is most likely the culprit . there will always be peg warmers especially being the 1st led variant that added nothing except for an led light

I don't think McFarland has ever made a fighter worth buying

Like I've been waiting for a good Superman figure to display with my DF Goku but im probably better off building Mafex Hush Superman or the Amazing Yamaguchi one mainly because it can be posed dynamically with my Goku without a solid piece of plastic getting in the way
I will never,i repeat never spend money on a digital figure ? Yes im old (60) but to me you are spending money and getting nothing in return ? I dont care how they push it,ive also never bought music in digital format as i prefer to be able to hold my purchase physically and know ive actuLly got something for my cash ? Its always just felt like a scam imo ?
Trying to compare a digital figure to a picture of your family is garbage unless your family is dead. You can still hold your family. You will never hold the digital figure.

My advice : smaller videos. Better to make 10 minutes chunks organized in different vids rather than 40 min vid.
Agreed, this guy makes good videos and has good feedback. But the videos are too long and I never finish them
@@redxomac5 definitely his videos are very good.. I am a subscriber and have been watching him constantly for his in depth unbiased look on toys.
As a counterpart I far prefer long videos as opposed to multiple shorter ones but I may be in the minority.
@@NateMulder I agree. I like short videos but having longer ones that are well made and go into is definitely something I prefer. I can agree with having short ones too, but longer ones I feel are more in-depth.
@@NateMulderDefinitely depends. If I am multitasking, I want long videos so I don’t have to interrupt my work to pick the next video.
I guess the other option is to have time code so people who likes short videos to jump to the parts they like.
