The reason this figure always comes with the same accessories, as with batman rebirth, is because the molds for the body comes with the mold for the accessories. One single cast that they fill.
As a GL (Hal) and beyond tired of the treatment the character has received by McFarlane. More so, when Hal is the main GL. Like it or not it is what it is. Imagine that, instead of Batman they kept releasing Nighwing figures. Or instead Wonder Woman they released figures of Artemis; and yes, the irony that we´ve only have one based on the traditional comic. Stewart has had 5 figures so far...if I´m not mistaken. While Jordan has had one...with a second finally happening. He wasn´t even in the GL released with the Blackest Night wave...a wave based on his event. If McFarlane took the liberty of including Stewart on a wave based on a comic run that he wasn´t a part of...then he could have had Jordan be this GL. Or, give a chance to Gardner since he doesn´t have a figure yet.
Absolutely agree with you about plastic man. Besides the look, nearly a complete loss or closer failure than winner. Either through lack of planning or cheaping out I'm passing on it.😂❤
Plastic Man is my favourite superhero and if he had been a separate figure of his own instead of a BAF, it would have been a guaranteed purchase and the start of my DC Multiverse collection. But I'm not going to buy four figures I don't want just for him, so yeah, I think Todd kinda' lost the plot there 🤦
Great stuff, buddy! Awesome review! I'm 37 so can really relate to not wanting to waste time on stupid stuff lol Besides the boring, reused Batman (which is still not a bad figure) this is a pretty solid wave. Aquaman (my fave Aquaman so far!) and Electric Blue Superman are fantastic and even though classic John Stewart is an odd choice for a 90's JLA wave he's a great figure with an awesome head sculpt. The Kyle Rayner body works great for him and I actually prefer the Platinum Mosaic costume, especially with the texture of the suit. Plastic Man is such a fun BAF. Love both headsculpts and the stretchy arms, even though I would have loved if they were bendable.
The only one that is a WTF is John but Batman is a real off decision. He appears in black on one cover and the rest is a dark grey. The others are absolute fantastic and I think it’s Todd’s best Superman.
This is totally WTF?! category. Superman Blue is the best figure of the 4 non BAF figures. He's the most unique, LEAST lazy, but he also reflects and continues this year's trend with McFarlane toys to apparently try to outdo Hasblow for shitty business practices. I'm a hardcore fan. Many people who buy these are. So I'm going to want to get Superman Red as well, but I have to get lucky and be able to find him as a rare chase? Thanks for nothing Todd! I think my Mattel Signature Collection Peter David Aquaman is a better figure than this McFarlane one. At least that old thing had sculpted on scales. I mean, what the fuck McFarlane? The company that's known for its sculpts can't be bothered to sculpt scales down the side of the legs. And then they don't even paint the scales all the way down?! AND Aquaman has some weird waist gap? AND the center spike is shorter than the hook part? That doesn't make any sense! Bad choice for Batman reuse, and I've always hated Batman in all black. John is cool, but needed unique constructs, not just recolored effects from Arkham Knight Red Hood. It's the laziest wave in history for the best BAF, and that's what kills it. He made you buy 3 shitty figures (2 of which have shitty chases) and one good figure so you could get possibly his best BAF. Really tryin' to outdo Hasblow....
I dislike McFarlane. I have only bought 5, since he took over DC, that said, I would have bought a Plastic Man by himself. I have a 27, or 35 if you count all the Green Lanterns, member Justice League. I don't have a Plastic Man. He's about the only member I don't have. Well Elongated Man who's also stretchy. I already have all the Figures in this Wave from much earlier waves. I definitely don't need any more Batman's. I have a Batman on my Earth Watchmen! I have a Superman there too, but that's Superman in Kryptonian uniform, I can say that one is Jor-El!
Feels like a missed opportunity for a solid new figure, like Connor Hawke or Tomorrow Woman.
Yes, superman is page puncher superman. Big hands are the give away. Same vampire superman body

Nice review. Plas’s pieces seem to snap together snugly. Does the neck peg move back and forth or is it fixed in place ?
I’m sorry I didn’t show it in the review but his neck moves around quite freely!
I had got a second three jokers Batman that I turned all black. I like Aquaman most from the wave. I missed out and may not get.
What's ironic about the bendy Dhalsim is he doesn't need to bend! his fitting moves just stretch

And if you want a accurate JLA superman, you can head swap the Return Of Superman head to the action comics 1000 superman body.
This is a solid wave I just haven't been in a rush to get it but I will soon.
No need to rush on this one!
Welcome to the 40s

The arms at least are page punchers
Johns art is from the Bronze age
