I loved that interview Steve did with Patrice. It felt to me that Bergy was a little uncomfortable talking to him about how he single-handedly ruined Steve's life but he also seemed to get some gentle digs in as well. Of course he would kill him with kindness.

Here's one you can use that was a dagger to Blues fans hearts...basically until 6/12/19. Gretzky loses the puck to Yzerman, who scored to eliminate the Blues (OT) in 96. You can find the clip in literally every playoff hype package from 1997 to approximately 2019. We kept having that play shoved down our throats year after year. That's basically one of the reasons Blues fans were so high strung during the playoff run last year.

As embarrassing of a loss as that was to witness LIVE, as a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, I was not surprised by what transpired, unfortunately.
When the Leafs were up 4-1, some of my friends got all excited and was like: "guys, it's not over yet, they have to keep playing until the end".
I made that statement after witnessing an even worse defeat to the St. Louis Blues back on November 29th in the year 2000.
The Leafs were winning 5-0 going in the third period of that regular season game and somehow ended up losing 6-5 in Overtime! I had lost a LOT of faith in them from that point on!
Anyway, long story short they choked yet again this season. I'm not sure what it's going to take for the Toronto Maple Leafs to break their curse, but hopefully it will happen in our lifetime.

I was in Maple Leaf Square for that game. When it was 4-1, that place was LOUD. As soon as the tie came, almost silent.

From your comment at 8:12 in this video, I am happy to know that there was someone else in the crowd that night outside the ACC who thought the exact same thing I did at 4-1 in the third when everyone was chanting.

I'm Canadian and I watched this game at early in the morning while I was in Israel. I'm a Sens fan and at this point they had already beaten Montreal to advance. I grew up in the GTA and knew a lot of Leafs fans and I was missing hockey because of the time difference and getting into that series. I decided to watch the game anyway.
It was very exciting, and I gave the biggest laugh when Bergeron scored the goal and watching my friends express disbelief in real time on Facebook.

2013 was pretty crazy. Leafs choking a 4-1 lead in a game, the wings choking a 3-1 lead in a series and the hawks basically stealing game 6 from Boston in a span of 17 seconds to win it all. I know other playoff years have been crazier but I feel like 2013 is underrated

Steve if you want to feel better about the Bruins, why not do an episode on their 2010 playoff series where the Flyers came back from 0-3 games AND 0-3 in game 7 to win the whole series.
-From definitely not a Flyers fan who was at the game 7 watch party in Philly

As a Pens fan, I was also extremely disappointed when this happened. That 2013 Pens roster was STACKED, but the Pens don't often match up well against the Bruins. Those Pens would've absolutely MERC'ed the Leafs; paving the way to another cup final (regardless that the Pens probably didn't match up well against the Hawks either). Sure enough, the Leafs folded, and somehow that Bruins team swept the 2013 Pens, which I STILL don't understand. What a crazy year that was.

Marc Bergevin throwing the puck his own net during the 99-00 playoffs... Blues and Sharks, Blues won the President’s Trophy that year, and the city was really buzzing. We really thought it was our year. And that happened. Nolan also scored from like the red line. That whole series was a giant dang-it.

As a Bruins fan. the mood for about 90% of this game was "Oh look, the B's are blowing it yet again," before they suddenly burst to life and the expected bitterness turned to ecstasy. My favorite part about it is how, somehow, in all the chaos of the game-ending play, the Leafs managed to completely lose one of the best forwards in the league and let him roam in completely unimpeded all the way below the hashmarks to bang home the rebound. JVR just dropping everything to watch the puck and letting Bergeron of all people go uncovered will probably haunt him for the rest of his life.
