This is just as bad of a disallowed goal, but at least they stayed consistent for how they called these in the series. and for that, I'll accept it as a Double Dang-It on the refs for both goals in the Wild/VGK series.

It's become harder to keep track of where the puck is or where players' sticks are at certain points in the game, but still. There have been some obvious calls or non-calls that weren't or were made.

@@viperswhip being in the paint at all can be considered interference if it is felt that your positioning is stopping the goalie from making a reasonable attempt to make a stop. If you're screening a shot in the blue paint you stop the goalie from being able to challenge the shot from the top of his crease which would mean there is more space for the shooter to aim for.
I would say that both were interference but the one against the vgk seemed more caused by the defender. Then one against the wild was only the wild player and the goalie.

I had a feeling the Reaves-Graves thing would come up, that was scary to watch and the player conduct and reffing in that game was just a mess. Graves needed the 5 minute major, Reaves needs at least an 8 game suspension to match the call on Kadri (I'm not defending Kadri, he deserved what he got. Reaves deserves just as much or possibly more).
Honestly didn't see the interference on the Graves hit, but had he been given 5 minutes for an illegal hit to the head I wouldn't have disagreed. Reaves getting only 2 games really does seem cheap.

I think about when the Red Sox finally won in 04, the Rangers in 94, the Cubs ... the party in TO will be bigger than any other slump-busting championship. I used to HATE the Leafs in the 90s ... but I will be sooo happy for Leafs fans when they finally do it. I will fly to TO and celebrate with them.
Both teams at one point in history had a 5-0 lead and ended up losing their respective games in OT. The Oilers against LA in 1982, the Leafs against St Louis around 2002, and again against Ottawa in the early 2010s.

The thing that bothered me most with the interference call on the Golden Knights is that Tuck couldn't get out of the crease because I think it was Dumba was holding him in. So if there was any contact he was being pushed into the goalie.
Also, Tuch NEVER made any attempt to physically interfere. The only movements he made were an attempt to leave the crease. Should have been 2 for the Wild for interference on Tuch

As a Caps fan, I feel for you, Steve. Every time, you tell yourself "this year it'll be different" or "this time things will be better", only to have the team you cheer for find a way to screw it up. It's the mental aspect of the past that haunts a team's future, the losing of the past creeps into the psyche of the players and it causes the mental mistakes that end up costing the game, the series, and feeds into the cycle. It is hard for a team that has been losing in such a way for a long time to break that cycle but it can be done. The Caps did it, and I know the Leafs will too one day. You have my sympathy, Steve
I'm a habs fan but I don't find you annoying, pretty entertaining actually. Even before playoffs started I enjoyed watching sdpn and all types of content you put out. It's clear you are knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. As much as I enjoyed watching the raw live reactions after the last 3 leafs losses, I do feel bad and hoped you could "keep going" for more than 1 round and keep us entertained in all types of youtube vids/podcasts. @@viperswhip being in the paint at all can be considered interference if it is felt that your positioning is stopping the goalie from making a reasonable attempt to make a stop.
If you're screening a shot in the blue paint you stop the goalie from being able to challenge the shot from the top of his crease which would mean there is more space for the shooter to aim for.
I would say that both were interference but the one against the vgk seemed more caused by the defender. Then one against the wild was only the wild player and the goalie.

I had a feeling the Reaves-Graves thing would come up, that was scary to watch and the player conduct and reffing in that game was just a mess. Graves needed the 5 minute major, Reaves needs at least an 8 game suspension to match the call on Kadri (I'm not defending Kadri, he deserved what he got. Reaves deserves just as much or possibly more).
Honestly didn't see the interference on the Graves hit, but had he been given 5 minutes for an illegal hit to the head I wouldn't have disagreed. Reaves getting only 2 games really does seem cheap.
@@reaganharder1480 technically the Graves hit was a legal check to the chest but it was a bit late and definitely unnecessary, and him getting 5 minutes wouldn't have made a serious difference to the game. The fact that Kadri got 8 games and Raves got 2 says an awful lot about the league

I think about when the Red Sox finally won in 04, the Rangers in 94, the Cubs ... the party in TO will be bigger than any other slump-busting championship. I used to HATE the Leafs in the 90s ... but I will be sooo happy for Leafs fans when they finally do it. I will fly to TO and celebrate with them.

The thing that bothered me most with the interference call on the Golden Knights is that Tuck couldn't get out of the crease because I think it was Dumba was holding him in. So if there was any contact he was being pushed into the goalie.
Also, Tuch NEVER made any attempt to physically interfere. The only movements he made were an attempt to leave the crease. Should have been 2 for the Wild for interference on Tuch
Goalie interference calls lately are ridiculous, they could drop a feather on the goalie pad and call a no goal because of it

As a Caps fan, I feel for you, Steve. Every time, you tell yourself "this year it'll be different" or "this time things will be better", only to have the team you cheer for find a way to screw it up. It's the mental aspect of the past that haunts a team's future, the losing of the past creeps into the psyche of the players and it causes the mental mistakes that end up costing the game, the series, and feeds into the cycle. It is hard for a team that has been losing in such a way for a long time to break that cycle but it can be done. The Caps did it, and I know the Leafs will too one day.

I'm a habs fan but I don't find you annoying, pretty entertaining actually. Even before playoffs started I enjoyed watching sdpn and all types of content you put out. It's clear you are knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. As much as I enjoyed watching the raw live reactions after the last 3 leafs losses, I do feel bad and hoped you could "keep going" for more than 1 round and keep us entertained in all types of youtube vids/podcasts. All the the best. TO's kids are still quite young and will learn a lot from this year's playoffs. We won't see that Matthews smug smile ever again and that makes the world a better place.
