Thanks for sharing your process, so inspiring. Your paintings are wonderful. My attempts don't reach your beautiful work, but I know I need to practice more. And of course, it comes out different for all of us.

The reddish brown color, in the 2nd painting, matches the color of Georgia dirt! Beautiful color

Lovely paintings! Magnificent use of colour. I watched with phone turned upside down and really enjoyed your skill. Thanks for sharing .

raw sienna or yellow ochre can give you a yellow effect without turning blue to green as they register as browns ... use them in my water colors that way

very frustrating that they are upside down the whole time - and that you did not edit actions out, like taking off the tape. I do like the textures and colors you are creating.

Very nice work Linda’. I like to reveal my edges too’ but removing the tape is problematic at times using masking tape’ over here painters tape is expensive ! I try to weaken the glue by sticking it onto my apron before application to the paper , thank you from across the pond in NE England xx

Hi there! - thank you for the video. Can you tell me how long cold wax takes to dry? I would like to try and use the cold wax without pigment as a collage medium instead of gel medium. In other words, If I Collage something on to my baced board how long would I have to wait for it to dry before I could lay in another layer? nice work! 🌹

Kate, you don’t have to wait for it to dry. When I am adding collage to a cold wax painting I lay down a piece of wax paper on top of it and brayer over the wax paper. You can keep going that way. Hope this helps.

Could I use Gambin cold wax on furniture? Does it cure or harden?

I never heard of anyone putting it on furniture. I wouldn’t do it.

What type of paint are you using with the cold wax?

Horizon on second painting is extremely dark for the picture....hope it is fixed before the finish.

Wow! They turned out great! Love the second one especially. Are they 5 x 7 ?

PLEASE stop using that blue tape. It distracts your image and throws colors off when working! Use artist white tape.

Background noise really intrusive & spoils the experience!....shame that they were painted-upside-down for the viewer!!!....otherwise interesting

I didn't even notice any background noise. As far as it being upside-down, get a life and turn your computer upside down.

I think this is a very poor recommendation - two landscapes in 20 minutes each! Speedpainting, wow!
I wonder what spirit is there whilst working in a domain where a relaxed and good atmosphere of creativity should be the most important element!
    🥲👎

I have my students who are trying to loosen up to do this exercise. They like the freedom. Have you tried it?

@@LindaBentonMcCloskeyI’ve really enjoyed watching these 2 paintings and I’m so glad TH-cam recommended them. I’m sad that you have received some mean and indeed rude comments on here. No self respecting artist I know would ever make such unkind remarks. A shame that a minority of people forget that they can just move on without commenting if they don’t like the tutorial 🙈 Keep doing what you’re doing. New subscriber x
