Great alternative to roof tents and way cheaper too. Only problem is what to do with the rest of your camping stuff that you were carrying on the bed of the truck after setting the tent up.
I have one of these. The issue I have is if it rains and you open up the door you and your stuff are going to get wet. Unless you are putting up an awning. I utilize my tonneau cover as a shelf for the inside.
Maybe set up a 10x10 tent with walls to remedy that issue. That's what I'd do. It would be similar to what Korean camper streamers do, but their tents are designed with minivans in mind.

Great point! I guess you could add a rack to the top of the cab or delete the rear seat for additional storage!
Probably pack a screen tent as well or/and a small ground tent for gear.
@@ExtremeTerrainToyotaRear Seat delete was the best mod I did to my 2nd Gen Tacoma!

Would this work with a ladder rack on the truck ?
I traded in my Tacoma for an f150 5.5 bed. It’s 9 inches wider than Tacoma bed. Would this tent still fit?
We haven't tested it, but we do have some tent option on our sister site that supports the F-150 platform. Check them out --> AmericanTrucks.com
I like this.
what is difference between these 2 tents? Part numbers110760 and 110761,
I have a 2016 Tacoma with a 6 ft bed.
One is specific to the Tacoma and one is universal to mostly all other mid sized 6ft bed trucks. They have the same specs otherwise.
when putting together do not pull it tight till after you get it up or you will have problems putting the poles in
That's what she said
This should scratch the car on a wind day 🤔
It’s a truck. Those little straps may cause some abrasion and if that’s the case you can put felt lining on them. Cheap solution.
This tent doesn’t fit correctly if you have a tri-fold bed cover folded up…
