A cot and tent that sits on top of it, is a great setup that is budget friendly way to camp. Plus you are off the ground and do not have to climb up and down.
That power bank is a must have. Even if your not camping. Everyone who has a vehicle should have one. I bought one after I went camping with a friend and his battery died. Even for road trips in case your battery dies in the middle of no where. I have a DBPower's highest rated unit. I would also suggest a air pump and some sort of tire patch kit in case you get a puncture.
I put a canopy on both my Tacos. I can Lock them which is more secure of course. I am 6’1” my bed is 5’ so yea there is that 😝. Oh and they do make air compressors that plug into your truck to blow the mattress up. They are a little slow but work great when you are out camping.

Not sure if you had the tent fully set up or was just up for display purposes but you can get rid of that sagging and buckling in the front of the tent if you pull the orange straps with the buckle on the end into the truck bed and connect it to the hooks in the bed. Pull that tight and it will make the tent tot (not saggy or wrinkly) which makes the front higher and flush with the top of the bed and easier to zip open/close

Keep in mind Overlanding, much like Bushcraft are just terms, and have both been used and abused to sell products that are far from essentials to the activity they represent. I used to use a poly tarp held up by some PVC in the bed of my old Ford Ranger for trips that where very much what is called overlanding. I have seen aussies using cots in ground tents. Fancy equipment does not make Overlanding, what you do with your truck and equipment does. Much of the high price "Overlanding" gear can easily be made DIY style if you have even beginner level skills with basic tools.those fancy $1500+ roof top tents started life as home made camper tents dating back at least to the 60s. chose what you can do yourself, chose what equipment you want to buy, but do not be tempted to get gear you do not need just because it is "Overlanding" equipment.
May I suggest that you attach a small chemical lightstick to the zipper when you go camping. You can get them at places like party city, or off of Ebay. They are quite inexpensive, and make it so much easier to find the zipper in the darkness without having to turn on a flashlight or lantern. The tent is cool I like how it attaches. I think I'd have a hard time with the short bed though seeing as I'm 6'4 and barely fit in most things to being with. Also have you thought about buying an air mattress that has a built in pump then just attaching it to the out let in the back. You don't have to worry about batteries at that point.
Just discovered your channel and I guess I’m here to stay😅 I like this kind of content since We’re around the same age and I experience the same dilemma when it comes to modding my rig (rip to my savings😭)
My truck still pretty much stock. I changed very few things like inside lights, put an Undercover tonneau, spray painted the front grill black and put an Autobot emblem i stead of the Yota emblem that's it. I have slept on the back of my truck plenty of times specially during the NG drills. That tent does look pretty dope in case i wanna go camping. But the Army kinda ruined that experience.
Weird FTW!! It be nice if the tent had cut-outs for the taillights(pre-set)👌🏼..now I feel like investing in those tents.. Nice MacGyver on the blower😆 Solid vid..just another Islander (671)😎👌🏼🤙🏼 “TrailLife”

just ordered mattress for my short bed tacoma. hoping it fits
Awesome I’m just getting started with my new Tacoma
Awesome additional to your Tacoma! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
Cool gadgets Chloe! Great survival kits to have. Love your Tacoma. Enjoy 😉 your camping 🏕
Yes, that type of air mattress would be a lot more convenient! I’ll have to upgrade at some point
I think its a cool idea to be sleeping in your truck's bed but it's just not practical considering what you have to give up in order to do so.
I’m happy with my 6ft bed and canopy shell :)
Great video Chloe🤙 That’s a cool tent
great job chloe... for sure you gonna enjoy camping. thanks for sharing 👌
Thanks for the awesome video. Really like the car jumper. I might purchase it 🤞
Just discovered your channel and I guess I’m here to stay😅 I like this kind of content since We’re around the same age and I experience the same dilemma when it comes to modding my rig (rip to my savings😭)
Nice use of the leaf blower! Lol

Great content! I'm planing on upgrading to a jeep gladiator someday and a lot of your ideas are applicable to other mid size pickups too.

Nice MacGyver on the blower😆
Solid vid..just another Islander (671)😎👌🏼🤙🏼 “TrailLife”
Great build
You have an electrical outlet in the bed of the truck to power a pump for an air mattress. 😁
More overland videos would be cool
