Sorry to hear you have had covid Roy but you are on the mend and back on the bike. I agree with you about testing, although there is no legal requirement to or isolate I think if you know you have it to test as a duty of care to others. I’ve had it twice and still isolated back in October when I was positive. Wow Wendy what an amazing prize, once in a lifetime opportunity
I had the C-virus about 12 weeks ago for the first time. I totally lost my sense of smell and taste for about 2 weeks, and it wasn't like with a cold or if you pinch your nose where it's like the "volume" has been turned right down, but you can kind of still get something it was like it had been switched off, and when I got it back (while out riding funnily enough) some tastes were missing as if they had been deleted like milk and cream, they all came back eventually, but it was very strange and a bit miserable to be honest.
Glad you are on the mend Roy, I'm still down on lung capacity since I had covid last September! Well done Wendy, it's good to know people do win competitions and what a prize - very envious😁
Oh, Wendy. What a great experience for you and Terry. 😊 I've heard of some horror stories about contest winners who were disappointed with the results, poor organization, being rushed thru, not receiving all that was advertised, things like that. But this tire company really came thru! You did a wonderful job telling us all about it, too. Roy, happy to hear you're mostly all recovered. Have a good time on your guided rides that are coming up. Here's to fair weather and tailwinds.
Like you Roy, I waited 3 years to catch Covid (I always was a slow starter). Very similar symptoms. The sore throat was horrendous. Took me two weeks to feel anything like normal and my first ride after was a mere 12 miles and I was shattered. Back to something like normal now, thank goodness. Congratulations to Wendy too. What an experience!
Well that was quite the prize Wendy! Well done. I think the only thing I’ve won was tickets to a Revolution track cycling final at Manchester Velodrome. Got to see Chris Hoy win a Keirin though so I’m not complaining. Glad you’re feeling better Roy and thanks for the vid.
As an Asthma and COPD ‘sufferer’ I’m so aware of how easy is it to, as you say, let your guard down. BUT,, wow Wendy, many congrats on winning that super prize. Cracking vid again Roy, 👍👍
I am sorry Roy I did not know you had covid I am pleased you are recovering. What a fantastic prize , I have never heard Wendy talk so much. Sing yes. Nice video, thank you .
People forget Covis is still about, I'm not sure you have to stay off work now when you have it. Glad you're feeling better. It certainly wiped me out, fully 2 months before I felt back to normal. I'm so envious of Wendy's prize. We love the tour and see at least one stage every year. Never watch it in style though, usually camped at the side of the road with a picnic, still a marvellous day out. We missed this year but intend to see the 2025 tour for sure. I'll make sure I answer the phone from now on.😃
Thank you - yes we have watched from the roadside in previous years- so it was special to watch in style! I had a bit of an emotional moment - looking over the med, sun shining, drinking champagne, and watching all the cyclists! I just felt so fortunate!
Well Done Wendy with your fantastic win , What a Treat , very envious, I,ve never won anything , even a 5p Lucky Bag would not be lucky !!!! ,Roy glad your feeling Better , it,s just annoying especially when your out in the fresh air keeping fit most of the time.
It's crazy people still talking about COVID. I survived thankfully without shots. Was rough for a month though been COVID free since I got it first.time..pray I stay well and keep people well 🙏
@@sanjaegarcia5585 very good. It keeps my hands free and give you the view rather than looking at me. The camera is a DJI Action 4 which has superb stabilisation, which it needs with a chest mount.
@@BiKEnBiTES well you’re doing a pretty good job. I’d hate to see you trying to offend 😀 But I’m not offended at all. Age is just a number and I never usually push myself beyond what feels good. But you must admit, I’m looking good for 102 😉
Pédalsand Petals 0:04 . Presumaby you are one of the 'pipe and slippers at 60 brigade. Roy is not old. All through my 70s I did 100km + rides, dropping during my 80's to 60kms +. As I approached 90 I found the hills getting a bit irksome, so I fitted a light friction drive e-assist kit, with the assistance of which I did 3,000km in my 91st year. Roy will no doubt keep going a long time yet. It's not the years in your life that count, it's thé life in your years.
