Great vlog and history lesson. It’s lovely to hear history in our area. Tim & I keep meaning to ride along the bank next to the castle. Looks lovely. Maybe next Summer.
Ohh, my 30 sec’s of fame,,,, Huge thanks once again to Wendy and your good self Roy, and of course to Terry for the use of the Raleigh. Such a lovely bike to ride. Oh, and if you guys could keep up next time, save me keep waiting for you 😂😂😂
Nice one Roy. Great to hear the history but it does make me wonder why mankind is so warlike. Wars then and wars now, it seems we never learn. Farmer man wasn't too irate with your trespass on the land. Politeness usually wins the day. Felt sure Wendy would want an ice cream at the beach. Thanks again for the video and hoping you feel stronger after the illness.
@@colinwellman9480 the same thought occurred to me, Colin. I blurred the farmer out to respect him as he probably didn’t realise I was filming. If I hadn’t you would have seen him smiling. Wendy did want an ice cream AND a bucket and spade - but I told her it would spoil her tea and we didn’t have time. I didn’t film much of the beach as it was full of children. I am now feeling what counts as normal with me - thanks for asking.
I saw Wendy out on the Raleigh e-bike a couple of weeks ago. I was out with the club and we caught her up just coming out of Orston going towards Scarrington.
Can’t believe you recognised me - I was incognito - going to Bingham for some shopping!! No Lycra - E bike - impressed! Was great to get a wave as you whizzed by! 🤔
Hi Roy. I enjoyed meeting you and Wendy at the Hilltop cafe yesterday. I was with my dad and we had an interesting chat with you about filming and equipment.I really like your style of video and seeing the ride from this perspective is fantastic. I’ve only just started out and clearly have a lot to learn. I’m really interested in history and have visited Stoke field years ago. This was really informative and right up my street….Loved it. Your guest was incredibly knowledgeable too. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Can you remind me what type of camera and software you use to film.? It’s so clear. Thanks again, really enjoyed it. 👍🏻👏🏻
It was really good to meet you both, too. Your enthusiasm was clear to see so I wish you the very best with your channel, which I will subscribe to. My camera is the DJI Action 4 which is way more reliable than the GoPro I previously used. With GoPro, I needed a Media Mod to use my external mics with it. Not only is this expensive, it makes changing batteries a chore. With the Action 4 I plug straight into the camera and batteries takes seconds to change. There is now an Action 5 so there should be some good deals on the 4. For editing I use Black Magic’s Da Vinci Resolve. I do now use the paid for Studio version but started out with the free version, which is packed with functionality. I use a high powered laptop as it does demand a lot of processing power for some of the effects, but they are not necessary. There is now a version for Apple iPad, but I have no idea how useable it is. As I prefer to show viewers the rather than concentrate on me, I use a GoPro chest mount for the camera, which is compatible with the DJI camera. I hope that all helps but you are very welcome to email me if you want to ask anything specific. Good luck with HikesnBikes!
@@RideWithRoy thank you so much Roy. Really appreciate your detailed answer. I’ll see what kit I can afford to improve the quality of my videos. You were right though about the perspective. I’ll try and cut down on the selfie shots and focus more on the scenery. I will get better and will try and continue improving one thing each video. Look forward to catching up with your previous videos and look forward to watching new ones. Kind regards Simon. All the best.
@@HikesnBikes forgot to say. Have a look at Mr Alex Tech on YT. He makes easily understood videos on editing with Resolve - from beginner to pro level.
Nice video! INot sure if you have already done this but a video rundown of your bikes would be great. Looks like you have some interesting handlebars etc.
Thanks. Yes, I’ve covered the components separately. The bars on the Ribble are the Redshift Kitchen Sink bars and the Tempest has the Redshift Top Shelf. I covered this type here Is Redshift's Latest Gravel Bar Truly Top Shelf? th-cam.com/video/ycxZuiXGYAA/w-d-xo.html

I was in Leicester about 8-9 years ago when Richard 3rd was interned it was very interesting, your chap certainly knew his stuff
Fantastic video Roy. The editing and footage is superb and I almost look like a professional TV celebrity!🤣😂🤣😂
@spenny24950361 I wouldn’t go that far 😀 just shows the power of a good edit 😂 But you did a great job!
