Thanks for watching, folks! If you wanna see a follow-up video with the AXIS trackers (potentially) versus the Unimotion trackers I mentioned in this video, let me know! Also join the discord, because we have a pet tax over there so plenty of cute doggos and such: discord.gg/S2WczRuA7p
Stopped playing VRchat a long time ago due to the expensiveness of upgrading everything to acheive full body tracking, glad your video got airdropped into my feed. this is sick.
3:04 The VRC walking animation can be turned off in the IK and Tracking section of settings. That'll make you slide everywhere but like, isn't that the point of waterslides? :P
i need to get my self some cheap trackers for my legs and waist and utilize standable for the rest. and about the 2 trackers from the 2 companies, easy, tracker Vs tracker, which is good for what
HONESTLY I kind of like Standable over Full Body, but I think combining them would be better... but as a 'which should you get if you're only going to get 1" my vote is for standable... Reason being? No surfing. You move = you walk. It's highly immersion breaking to see about 50% of the playerbase surfing around while standing. Sometimes I see some unique work arounds, one guy had a skateboard he'd turn on when he moved and stood like he was riding it, another had a 'power throne' a big ornate thrownwith monster truck wheels, but most of the time it's people sitting down or standing still while moving around the room reminding me of old games when animations didn't load skimming around the rooms. Afterthought: If you you want full body for kicking and such or to REALLY dance you want FBT instead but for the GENERAL user Standable is the much better option to just have more realistic movements and then combine it with hip tracking AND MAYBE later down the road leg tracking. Kinda gives you options to ween into FBT instead of full diving right away... ya know make sure it's something you actually care about instead of dropping 200 plus on a set up and then never using it.
Why does it not Mach with my feet? Like my avatar’s feet when I do the T pose is going into the floor. I don’t know because they have charged too big or it’s not tracking my height.
I've seen this around a year ago and thought: "Well... you could just use those smartphone apps, that work just as well as this damn thing" but now I think I might actually go for this.
You guys know if I can use this in combination with Quest 3 virtual desktop emulation? I like that the emulation actually uses the quest's cameras but it would be nice to have standable for the prone animations.
I've been trying to do this but it doesnt seem to combine. Despite what others say, it doesn't work for me. VD is better in every way besides the prone position which is what I want Standable for.
Only if a game supports full body tracking, and I doubt any competitive shooter will add it in, honestly. THAT SAID, it's all just one body algorithm, so it'd be fun to see some studios just lease out the Standable tracking method as a native IK system in their games.
Hey! If it isn't a big ask, if you have the time, and wouldn't mind trying to test something for me, I and a ton of people would be very grateful. I'll try to keep this brief. I want you to try using 2 trackers on just your ankles with Standable's mixed tracking. Basically, most modern smartphones have IMUs in them, so theoretically you could use smartphones as trackers, but you'd need at least 4 to 5 for decent leg tracking. . Obviously not many people are going to have 5 phones lying around, but it isn't too uncommon to have 2. So I'd like to see if you put two trackers on just your ankles how Standable does filling in the gaps. In theory I imagine it wouldn't be all too dissimilar to the tracking of the arms using just the controllers. If this works even a little well, it might be the most affordable leg tracking out there!

I cross my legs like that, but I wear stretchy pants so it doesn't bunch up and pinch like in jeans
i love that this is the key takeaway from the video. lol
