Great video! Fun tip - Their drummer, Cameron Losch, wrote the entirety of the album The New Reign when he was around the age of 15... Cameron is an amazing musician!
2010's sumerian was untouchable....BOO, Veil of Maya, after the burial, ABACABB, structures, the faceless, upon a burning body , periphery, betraying the martyrs, conducting from the grave, sea of treachery,ERRA.... i know im missing a bunch but they were staaacked with bands
Brace legs was my ring tone back when you could make your own ring tones. Around the 1 min mark of brace legs. That synth breakdown was so sick and still is.
BOO was and is truly revolutionary to the sound of metal today. They don't nearly get the recognition they deserve and a higher place felt overlooked and it was every bit as good as the discovery. I didn't care much for soul sphere or TWDA outside a few songs, but they've really been killing it these last couple of albums.
I would LOVE to see a video just on Jason Richardson. From ASP, to BOO, to CG, to doing his solo gig, now in all that remains. That would be a fun one to watch! Again tho, killer video!
I’m happy you are doing the full story of the band, not just myspace era. For a band like Born of Osiris who are still going strong today it doesn’t seem right to cut their story in half.
i like this new longer format where you go in detail about a band's history leading up to what they are up to now, because alot of times people hadnt kept up with the band in years
These videos have easily become some of my favorites on TH-cam. Thank you so much for the entertainment homie. I've always appreciated these bands you've covered, and I think that it's really cool that some people are probably going to discover or even re-discover these bands thanks to these videos. This new format where you focus on the entire history is much appreciated. You've got a special thing here and I look forward to the next upload!
I had the pleasure of opening for BOO when they were touring after the release of the new reign along with Winds of Plague. These guys absolutely slaughtered the venue. Ahhh, memories.
Sick dude! You my friend have very awesome and unique content! The early to mid 2000s was such an incredible and inspiring time for me musically.Thank you for this man \,,/
Born of Osiris, veil of maya, and after the burial form the holy Trinity of what I consider quintessential sumeriancore. Sumerian signs artists now that I’m certain are to generate engagement on social media from angry 30-something-year-old dudes but back when I was in high school they were absolutely goated.
One of my favorite bands of all time. Seen then live 8 times now I think. Been listening to them for 15 plus years. Which is crazy. Seeing them live now is still so incredible. Thanks for thr vid man. Good job.
So sad that Joe is no longer with them 😭 I’ve loved BOO since the New Reign. I’ll never forget buying that album in Best Buy and my brain exploded in the best ways possible. Every album is so awesome and seeing how much they’ve progressed is so badass. Cameron is one of my favorite drummers. Dude is FLAWLESS behind a set.
I lost my hearing at 13 years old seeing them on tour in 2012 w/ Unearth! I stood next to two giant JBL speakers like a jackass. Thanksgiving was the next day and I couldn’t hear until 3 days later! 😂 The Discovery will always be my favorite album from them!
Great video! More than 10 years listening to this band. I’ve loved every single album. Thank you for covering their history. It’s awesome remembering all of it, the studio updates and live shows. It was so cool to see their beginnings and how far they’ve gone and also us, the fans with them. Its been a trajectory. BOO is incredible and the best soundtrack of a big part of my life. ❤️🔥🎸🥁🎹🎧🎶
Still remember how hyped I was when both The Discovery and Tomorrow We Die Alive were first released, good ol' Sumeriancore days 🙏 BoO still be one of my fav Prog Deathcore/Metalcore bands around, their synthwork and orchestral elements were always amazing and a big influence even to my own attempts at music. And needless to say, they've always been amazing live and I can attest to that after seeing them more than 3 times over the past decade 👌🔥
I enjoy the whole history of the bands. When it ends after the myspace lore, it always feels like a show that just ended on a huge cliffhanger. Keep up the good work. Very underrated channel.
Been listening to BOO for about 6 years now. My friend who was into all forms of metal, mainly metalcore, deathcore, prog, Djent, pop punk, heavy, black etc... showed me BOO and Animals as Leaders. As someone who was stuck on acoustic fingerstyle/percussive fingerstyle (that was the wave at the time) I was Instantly hooked on BOO Machine and other heavier forms of metal. Prior, I was unable to get into screaming because of my dad (who hated screaming classic), but I quickly grew into heavier music with screaming once I gained influence from someone other than my boomer father. I even started to really enjoy Good Tiger, to this day I still play Good Tiger "Where are the Birds" and other similar bands like Dance Gavin Dance. I still use DGD to indoctrinate people into heavier music to this day. These bands along with other Myspace core bands scratched my itch for heavy music. I am now a huge fan of the aforementioned bands, obviously including Born of Osiris, and including Animals as Leaders, Tesseract, August Burns Red, Cloudkicker, Mastodon, Pelican, Plini, Rivers of Nihil, Tool, Dream Theater, Gojira, King Krimson. Man I could name so many more, but my friend really opened up a lot of bands to me, bands I would've never heard about if I never accepted anything out of the rock n roll "norm" at the time. That being said, I still love Alter Bridge, which is just Creed with a better singer/headman. They've been a thing for almost 20 years. Funny enough Creed is making a comeback for 1 tour this summer and I have tickets. What is my taste in music lmaooo?
I’ve been following BOO since early 2000’s. Our band used to practice down the hall from VOM. I loved their music and respected them as musicians. BOO is my favorite band. It’s cool they’re from my home town.
Been waiting for this one! Now you gotta do Veil Of Maya! Totally on board with hearing the whole bands story. Just covering MySpace era is limiting for a lot of bands, just so much more to talk about. Some suggestions for bands to cover: knights of the abyss, The Faceless, Beneath the massacre, infant annihilator, whitechapel, all shall perish, annotations of an autopsy and a video on myspace cybergrind would be cool too. Love what you’re doing! Keep the videos coming!
I came back to share a few memories of the band. First big memory I remember is when they were playing and all of a sudden the bass drum blew off! Had to stop everything to put it on and tune it. Last time I saw them I was excited for abstract art, so much I popped my shoulder and couldn’t do anything after that 😂
I was new with the metal back then and Bullet's Hand of Blood was the eye opener for me to "metal". Went to black metal for a while and then some collegue of mine showed me their Recreate music video and told me "Bro, hear me out, this kind of music will be the future." It was the first time I discovered the "progressive", it was weird, off time pattern, and I was obssesed into the rabbit hole of death core until to this day 😂
i have to say i really like your videos they are nice to listen to ive watched every video on this channel and to be honest most of the bands i didnt really listened to but after your videos i always check them out to hear some nice music
Some bands I would recommend doing videos on is: Winds of Plague Despised Icon The Faceless Nile Within The Ruins Of Mice & Men Keep up this awesome content. There's a lot of thing's I've learned about these bands from you ^^
One of my all time fav bands. When boo and veil of maya came out it was such a different and unique sound. Took over my life for a while after that lol
Saw your sub count and was like wtf... My man you are on your way up if you keep steering the course. Good look and good mojo with your channel, you deserve it
Absolutely love your videos man! I gotta say though, you missed some crucially important stuff with the departure of Jason Richardson. I’m sure you don’t want to get into the politics of bands but ‘The Discovery’ is arguably where the band peaked and that sound departed when jason departed. Don’t be afraid to delve into this stuff if it’s an an important part of a bands history, it helps gives context! Keep up what you’re doing man, you’re doing a fantastic job. Looking forward to the VoM video and many more!
xTheYan, youve got a new fan. Great review of OOO! I just wanted to hear some of their music tonight, and ended up watching your whole video instead. Keep these coming!
I was at damn near every show that they did in Orlando Fl around this time and I just saw them recently in Orlando it was so good to revisit them in a live setting. I will say this the mosh pits now days are weak I’m 33 and I was shocked how little movement there is now days. When I was 18-21 moshing was like a damn sport to us we took it serious and it was basically our form of dance
Man, I’m gonna hit that subscribe button, your videos are like a Time Machine for me. Of course they were into rap, Chicago is a hub of sorts for hip hop (most notably drill music). But that glass bluntz track which later became Exist off of their second album was absolutely fire back in the day. Even still, it’s imo better than the actual track on the album.
Great video as always dude! I didnt know the past names of the band, Only the crabcore one 😂 Btw the Angel or Alien álbum to me personaly is the perfect fusion of all the BOO eras in one, the Technicaly from the first albums, the etherium/space ambient's, the D3jnty gr00ve newest sound and a Little metalcores coros. Is a Master piece of an album!
One of my old bands got an opening spot for the thrash and burn tour in my area and BOOs bus broke down. It was a bummer but there were SO many quality bands on that tour. The new reign is legendary.
Mother of peal... 2003!? It would be a whole 13ish years before I saw them open for somebody I can no longer remember because I fell in love with the "Soul Sphere" era so hard.
I remember seeing BOO live in Philly on the all stars tour in 2011(?) shortly after The Discovery came out (Jason still had long hair - thanks for the clips it really brought back memories). It was hands down the best show of my life. Nearly fainted from going so hard at that show. To think of what BOO would’ve been if Jason continued to be with the band. Still love them to this day regardless.
My 2008ish Big 4 bands are Born Of Osiris . After The Burial . Within The Ruins . Veil of Maya .and in no particular order there are no many great others, I could go on forever and if you have a band, please comment it below because there is a band I have been trying to find tjat was on a record labels Sampler cd of all their bands and I can't find it. They had keyboards and sounded like pirate metal. The keyboard had an acordian sound but it sounded awesome. Meshuggah is obviously the kings of polyrhythmic music and time and stamina with Bleed being performed live every night. I'm more talking about tje 2008ish new era of this kind of music, like Animals as Leaders . Periphery. Don't forget Bulb 😉 I partied with Veil of Maya 1 time and they showed us the cool music they was listening to at the time and it was a burnt CD that said Bulb/Periphery most of the songs didn't have vocals yet, but I remember Letter Experiment had the very first vocalist who was another guy, I can't remember his name but he was extremely talented, it still sounded sick and I was upset that he wasn't going to be the permanent vocalist I would love to hear more of his vocals Got djent.com was like a heaven for musicians like us who like this kind of music. I remember a guy buy the name of Drewsif Stalin with his project called Endeavors. He has some cool songs still today. And made some really funny songs back in the day. He's talented in comedy too. Circle of Contempt was an awesome band, idk if they have new music The Harrp Machine. Also awesome Fellsilent & later Monuments - I personally favor fellsilent more because it was just such a different and Raw sound. I like different
Vildhjarta - with a song called Shiver This is early Vildhjarta and it's my favorite, they changed theor sound to a heavier sound that Isn't my favorite. The original sound here with the singing and thall tones sounds like new music today. I think they should get the old band back together myself, but that's just my taste. And I think they could be massive! Become known Worldwide !
Keith Merrow - song is called Titan He started as a solo instrumental artist, now hes doing more with vocalist. but this song Titan has home thick juicy riffs. I only found a guitar playthrough but it sounds great!
I feel like you skipped some pretty major stuff in terms of personnel changes, internal struggles in the band, drug use, and the conscious decision to stop having traditional breakdowns. Still, really enjoy the content man
also i love telling the whole story, the myspace era is most important and should be the majority of the video but it's nice to end it off with the rest of the bands history
37:22 something to note which I either missed or you didn't mention.. According to wikipedia and I think this is true from what I know. Cameron wrote The New Reign entirely. He's the driving force behind all of BOO's music. He's insane and plays guitar very well too : example: th-cam.com/video/-Yjm-RNIROY/w-d-xo.html
In my opinion, Born of Osiris was and still is a deathcore band. There were 2 forms of deathcore at the time. The more death metal sounding ones like Suicide Silence, Carnifex, White Chapel, etc. Then there were the progressive metalcore bands that were definitely metalcore inspired with more dynamics which were bands like Born of Osiris, Winds of Plague, Veil of Maya, Within the ruins. etc. The standard of deathcore changed after a while and as Punkrock MBA suggested, a lot of bands took the Oceano approach the writing.
The Discovery came at such a pivotal time of my life. 10/10 album
Great video! Fun tip - Their drummer, Cameron Losch, wrote the entirety of the album The New Reign when he was around the age of 15... Cameron is an amazing musician!
Cameron is an absolute beast, it's crazy how young they all were when they started making such good music
He did the same for A Higher Place
Cameron is what I like about BOO is solo project is like The Discovery part 2, I love it
wow
Man I talked to him this past sunday and even invited the band to my hometown for whenever they are free
Dude you are just on fire with your band selections. You are my fav content creator! 🖤
Thank you so much man , means a lot 🤘🏻🔥
You're absolutely "scratching an itch"
If you will...
First album are just one of those timeless albums I can listen first track to end and not skip any damn song. Masterpiece
100% 🤘🏻
For sure!! I'm not sure I like the direction the label is going but that was definitely their peak 🤘
That era is the hardest to this day
Brace legs was my ring tone back when you could make your own ring tones.
The Simulation is crazy good.
Indeed, I didn't mean to leave that one out on purpose. Loved that one as well.@@matthewpunk2012
I would LOVE to see a video just on Jason Richardson. From ASP, to BOO, to CG, to doing his solo gig, now in all that remains. That would be a fun one to watch!
Again tho, killer video!
That's a cool idea 🤘🏻🔥
The New Reign got me through SF Training. I listened to that Album every day.
IM SO GLAD YOU MADE THIS CHANNEL. ITS SO RARE TO FIND OTHER FOLKS WHO LIKE THE EXACT SAME BANDS. PLEASE DO AN AFTER THE BURIAL VIDEO AT SOME POINT
I’m happy you are doing the full story of the band, not just myspace era. For a band like Born of Osiris who are still going strong today it doesn’t seem right to cut their story in half.
Yes I think I'll always do complete history now 🤘🏻🔥
i like this new longer format where you go in detail about a band's history leading up to what they are up to now, because alot of times people hadnt kept up with the band in years
good to know thanks 🤘🏻🔥

Similar experience but with whitechapel lol

Thank you so much !! Yes they truly are incredible and deserve a lot of credit for their accomplishments 🤘🏻🔥
That first demo was rough lmao. The second, after the first name change, slapped. Def made the right stylistic change
Still remember how hyped I was when both The Discovery and Tomorrow We Die Alive were first released, good ol' Sumeriancore days 🙏

Empire erased will be my all time fav from The New Reign EP, but honestly there 0 bad songs in there!

Thank you for the including the stream I uploaded of that Youm Wara Youm demo, you’re a legend. Makes me wanna upload more stuff again.
YOU'RE the legend man haha thanks for being part of the video 🤘🏻🔥
I enjoy the whole history of the bands. When it ends after the myspace lore, it always feels like a show that just ended on a huge cliffhanger. Keep up the good work. Very underrated channel.
Yes I feel the same way !! Thanks man 🤘🏻🔥

One band that never gets old! Loving all these videos a lot, I think the direction you're going with them is great expanding into their later years!
Man I grew up in Chicago when this and oceano was coming together. Mind blowing time to be alive
You brought me back to those times! ty my friend
🤘🏻🔥
Been waiting for this one! Now you gotta do Veil Of Maya! Totally on board with hearing the whole bands story. Just covering MySpace era is limiting for a lot of bands, just so much more to talk about. Some suggestions for bands to cover: knights of the abyss, The Faceless, Beneath the massacre, infant annihilator, whitechapel, all shall perish, annotations of an autopsy and a video on myspace cybergrind would be cool too. Love what you’re doing! Keep the videos coming!
Thank you for the kind words !! And you've got great suggestions 🤘🏻🔥
I was just going to tell him Veil Of Maya and The Faceless too!!
Man totally forgot about Knights …holy shot thanks
I came back to share a few memories of the band.
First big memory I remember is when they were playing and all of a sudden the bass drum blew off! Had to stop everything to put it on and tune it.
Last time I saw them I was excited for abstract art, so much I popped my shoulder and couldn’t do anything after that 😂

Good stuff. I just remember they were in high school when Sumerian offered them a deal.
Can’t wait for the Veil of Maya video!

re amping makes those tones back then sound phenomenal
Awesome band, Lee is a very nice dude. I love the fact that you're covering the entire story of the band, it's super complete

Nice video dude!
not to mention Cameron's solo project UNSOLICITED that sounds even more insane
He’s gearing up for a third too. Love his stuff, and even greater person too
Man, I’m gonna hit that subscribe button, your videos are like a Time Machine for me.
Of course they were into rap, Chicago is a hub of sorts for hip hop (most notably drill music).
But that glass bluntz track which later became Exist off of their second album was absolutely fire back in the day. Even still, it’s imo better than the actual track on the album.
I lost a bet and listened to BOO for a week non stop, was best week of my entire life so far
im really in to rock and metal and metalcore as well good video yan awesome video man nice job man.
The mixing & mastering in the New Reign is probably the best I've ever heard.
I just wish they kept that sound :(
Great video as always dude! I didnt know the past names of the band, Only the crabcore one 😂
Btw the Angel or Alien álbum to me personaly is the perfect fusion of all the BOO eras in one, the Technicaly from the first albums, the etherium/space ambient's, the D3jnty gr00ve newest sound and a Little metalcores coros. Is a Master piece of an album!

One of my old bands got an opening spot for the thrash and burn tour in my area and BOOs bus broke down. It was a bummer but there were SO many quality bands on that tour. The new reign is legendary.
Coffee cig and that sick ass angelmaker shirt. Blow this channel up you deserve it
haha thanks man !! 😈🤘🏻🔥
I'd say keep doing the whole band story I think it's cool to see how Bands grew from MySpace to newer platforms
Mother of peal... 2003!? It would be a whole 13ish years before I saw them open for somebody I can no longer remember because I fell in love with the "Soul Sphere" era so hard.
Tomorrow we die alive is the era I got into Born of Osiris.
Yes !! Jason is an amazing artist, and BOO are killing it 🤘🏻
The “fuckin bow down” was always one of my favorite opening call outs
same 😈🤘🏻🔥
These dudes were and still are sick. Good shit man.
😈🔥🤘🏻

Meshuggah is obviously the kings of polyrhythmic music and time and stamina with Bleed being performed live every night.
I'm more talking about tje 2008ish new era of this kind of music, like Animals as Leaders .
Periphery. Don't forget Bulb 😉
I partied with Veil of Maya 1 time and they showed us the cool music they was listening to at the time and it was a burnt CD that said Bulb/Periphery most of the songs didn't have vocals yet, but I remember Letter Experiment had the very first vocalist who was another guy, I can't remember his name but he was extremely talented, it still sounded sick and I was upset that he wasn't going to be the permanent vocalist
I would love to hear more of his vocals
Got djent.com was like a heaven for musicians like us who like this kind of music. I remember a guy buy the name of Drewsif Stalin with his project called Endeavors. He has some cool songs still today. And made some really funny songs back in the day. He's talented in comedy too.
Circle of Contempt was an awesome band, idk if they have new music
The Harrp Machine.
Also awesome
Fellsilent & later Monuments -
I personally favor fellsilent more because it was just such a different and Raw sound. I like different
Vildhjarta - with a song called Shiver
This is early Vildhjarta and it's my favorite, they changed theor sound to a heavier sound that Isn't my favorite.
The original sound here with the singing and thall tones sounds like new music today.
I think they should get the old band back together myself, but that's just my taste. And I think they could be massive! Become known Worldwide !
Keith Merrow - song is called Titan
He started as a solo instrumental artist, now hes doing more with vocalist.
but this song Titan has home thick juicy riffs.
I totally forgot about the house video they did. I remembered how inspiring that video was to me! Thanks you for this amazing video essay!
Man am i glad i found your channel
Thank you ! Glad you enjoyed 🤘🏻🔥
Great video. Only the story of how Jason was kicked from the band was left out. Super cool to hear the old demos and watch the progression of BoO🤘🏼
Again, amazing video. Would you consider doing On Broken Wings?
Thank you !! Don't know this one I think
This band was the most innovative shit back on the day. I was like how do they do this?! Now I play it on guitar and I’m like, damn. Archspire
Follow the Signs and Recreate are my fav. Miss Jason in this Band.
Can't wait to watch this and relive all their glory!!! Myscape era 5eva XxHELLYEAHxX
Thank you. Abstract Art was ringtoned.
😈🔥🤘🏻
