“James Gunn hates dads “
Me: No wonder why I like his films so much.
Loves their kids though...
Yup
@@theheadsn LMAO!!
Same
same here I guess
This is a Visual effects & CGI appreciation post. With all the praise this film is getting in terms of writing, directing & acting, let me just say that visually, The film looked absolutely amazing & The color just popped.
Also, King Shark & Starro looked absolutely fantastic.
YES. SUCH SMOOTH

This was the easiest money sylvester stallone ever made...
He is PISSING HIMSELF LAUGHING counting his racks he made.
Hold my beer says Vin Diesel for his role in Gardian's of the Galaxy
Hold my beer says Brad Pitt for his role in Deadpool 2
It is more amusing to imagine that this movie was actually about Peacemaker secretly trying to destroy the lone copy of the Ayer Cut. 😂
It's what his Spinoff will focus on
No
Heh. When the sacrificial SS was introduced, I was like, "Yeah, those guys are way too expensive for the whole movie."
Don t call it ss man:)))))
@@ZhongXinabingchilling Why not? Both were evil.
" I blame you, Katana! You were supposed to have his baaaaa< sobs uncontrollably>ckkkk."
I say the Film should have been called "The Suicide Squad: This Time WB didn't meddle!"
Now I thoroughly enjoyed The Suicide Squad, but I would still like to see David Ayer's Suicide Squad.
ReleaseTheAyerCut
When Rick died the first thing that popped into my head was Katana should have had his back! So glad he mentioned it.
*NEW-i-cide Squad*
Nice pun, Honest Trailers
Look at Rick Flagg's sexy Altered Carbon glowup. He doesn't even look like the same dude anymore
"I'M MARY POP..." I lost it...and so did he.
Man, that Katana joke came from nowhere, and made me laugh out loud... while crying?
*Why didn't you have his back, Yamashiro!? WHYYYYYYY???* 😭
No, James Gunn hates Fathers
He's perfectly fine with Daddies
He hates fathers and feathers.... coincidence?
And little boys. Don't forget that.
4:11 Didn't Harley say in Birds of Prey that her dad kept trading her for beer, only for her to always keep coming back until the dad just decided to ship her off to the nuns?
Yes
Do an Honest Trailer for the classic show "The Greatest American Hero". It's the trailer no one else will ask for, but everyone will realize they need once you do it!
Best live action version of Harley so far.
Which is really scary considering her jokes seemed to be aimed at 10 year old boys
Agree.
@@RyanFloom I’m assuming you’ve never read the Suicide Squad comics lol that’s what the jokes are like. Better than, “love your perfume, what is that? The stench of death?”. So funny...lol
I'd say Birds of Prey for reminding us she's also a psychiatrist.
@@HBarnill lol so did Suicide Squad. I barley recognized her in bop.
This was a legit, fun and entertaining movie.
That nobody saw?
@@mkleejr34 ?
Right? This was legit the most fun I've had watching a comicbook film since Into the Spider-verse
I legit saw it twice in one weekend. I haven't done that in such a long while. It's such a fun film & so rewatchable. I absolutely loved every minute!
@@mkleejr34 incorrect. It flopped in theaters because of the whole covid surge situation but also because it was also free on Hbo. Many people saw it there instead of theaters, which was where the disappointing number was at. I spoke to an exec of the film personally and he was confident they are going to profitable on it
@@nemesisxxprime Yup I saw it on HBO max too
Yeah, they did still go for the Mary Poppins joke at the end, but I think it was a missed opportunity when they could have called Rooker "My head is poppin' y'all!"
Man, that's awesome
The one they ended up with was much better.
"The Dick of It." Hahaha. That's brilliant. I'm glad that's what people know him for and not Dr. Who.
There's literally no reason for anyone to be so affected by Rick Flagg dying and yet here we all are
Isn't it amazing what simple good writing can do?
damn starro made me sad in a one fucking line .hats off james gunn 👏
And his acting was really great, it’s like Ayer stifled the dude to pure blandness when if you saw The Killing he was by far the best thing about it, pure charm. Much better actor than the first one let him be
@@noobsybot9926Exactly. When I say this movie has great writing I'm not saying it has a very complex and original story... but it's good when it can make you care about a character with a few lines and action (for me, it was the moment Flag and Harley hugged what made me care)
@@deeobrien5417 that wasn't even the movie Ayer wanted to release don't play him blame the studios
“James Gunn hates dad!” i love it
In real life though his father died when he was making this movie and it really hurt him so honestly even though it was a joke here I think it may end up hurting Gunn a bit cause he loved his dad.
Hollywood hates dads. The bad dad trope is rampant.
I genuinely despised Rick Flag in the first film... then James made me like his character *and massacred my boy*
OMG YES THAT’S EXACTLY HOW I FELT!!!!
Glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way.
Yup, same here.
I think a lot of people feel this way because he was an actual character this time around, not a one dimensional typical soldier
Flag was my favorite in both. I don't like that he died, but I respect the decision. They did Captain Boomerang dirty, though. He was one of the best parts of the first movie and Jai Courtney's only good character!
Harley Quinn's dad sold her for a 6-pack of beer. It's said in Birds of Prey, and you used it in your DCEU/ 400th episode
"I'm Mary Poppins, y- *splat*" had me in tears

Week 98 of asking for a Netflix Daredevil honest trailer.
Ikr!!
Best Superhero show ever mafe
Yes Please!
Yessss
@RANDOM USER what haha, its true
Its the Best. Don't let fanboys tell Wandavision or Loki or FWS with One season. But Daredevil is so good and interesting than any of the above mew shows
I also imagined Stallone in a sound booth making the forced laughter. Had me cracking up.
"I blame you Katana, you were supposed to have his baaaack!" daaaaaamn, don't know why this got me ROFL XD
Because it was hilarious.
You're tearing me apart, King Shark!
He teared him apart
Oh, hi Nanaue!
"Adorkable Bay of Pigs," is the perfect elevator pitch for this movie. 😆
Can we just agree that Ratatoushe was the best character in the movie? Seriously Ratcatcher 2 was _adorable_ and the most heroic in the bunch. And apparently only in prison for robbing banks????
She was the only good thing in the film.
2:19 it's funny when you think Gunn made a movie called Super about a self-righteous superhero and casted Dwight for that role.
James Gunn should handle more DC movies. He should do a Creeper movie and have the Creeper be played by Jim Carrey. 😙
Omg that’d be insane!!!
Um....might want to rethink that....he is creepy
yeah he actually loves and respects DC unlike edge lord we had before
James Gunn doing an R-rated Creeper with a damaged Jim Carrey. It's basically his Troma films but with a budget.
No one is Creepier than Carrey; he's so very.
Actually I just realized every James Gunn movie has some kind of parent issues, like literally every movie
I've not yet seen Slither so I have to get back to you on that. I don't remember it in Super but it's been a minute since I watched it, and those characters are so messed up, that yeah, there's probably a parent issue I forgot.
But Guardians especially, Peter is the central character and he spends the first movie resolving his issues with the loss of his mom, and the second movie resolving his abandonment issues with his dad. By murdering him.
But to be fair, Ego shouldn't have killed his mom and squished his Walkman.
That's the case with every superhero movie tbh... Spiderman, Superman, Batman, ironaman, Aquaman, cyborg, wonder woman etc it's a comic book trope
@@pm6127 I would go even further. It is a storytelling trope. Think back the last ten, twenty movies you saw or books you read. How many actually had two caring parents or at least their children in it?
I watched Slither a couple weeks ago, and don't remember a parent thing... Might have to watch it again tonight and see for sure.
Disney is pretty consistent on this, too -- usually the mother dying.
"I'm Merry Pop-" splat!
Not cool, dude, not cool!
(Wipes a tear for Yondu.)
I knew someone would do a Tarantino joke about Harley's feet
What's really crazy is she really did that... stunt?... it's not a stunt, but I mean, she actually grabbed the keys and unlocked herself... it wasn't... like... a CGI key... or like... a paper mache lock... or something...
Yeah, when I watched that scene, I immediately thought of Tarantino.
I love how they're like lets make Rat catcher 2 a lazy Millenial trope even though she's clearly a Zoomer.
lol yeah, boomers can't see the difference between Millennials and Generation Z'ers
@@ruelramiscal3573 and Gen X, Gen Y
So zoomer
I like the fact Harley is played in 3 different ways. She goes from active abuse victim, to post-breakup chaos and now she seems to be stable and allowed to be herself.
Yes, I know next time she most likely will be different again, but until that day this is my interpretation.
It's a character arc.

Yes, that's what I said in lamer terms.
That really is what mono is like. I passed out walking from my bedroom to my bathroom like 15 times. Good times.
I thought the ratcatcher sleepy thing was a nod to rats. I breed them and if they aren't being goofballs and playing, they sleep. They sleep A LOT. In fact, some of them sleep so hard I have to check that they aren't dead, especially the bucks (males).
