I think its a tribute to Willem Dafoe's acting that in a scene where Spidey is surrounded by villains dressed in their best CGI he still somehow manages to make himself the scariest mofo in the room. With nothing more than a turn of his head wearing the right expression no less

I went to see it with some others, and I'm pretty sure they had never been to an opening showing like that or even just a big Marvel movie. Having seen movies like (all of the) Avengers in the theater, you get rather used to it and almost expect the hype train to come at those big moments. The people I went with expressed afterward that they didn't even know what to think with all the hootin' and hollerin'.

Finally found a screen still showing it at the start of March (had covid back in December so couldn't go, and then arranging childcare took too long). Someone in the theatre gasped when Murdoch appeared, meaning 1) They recognised him from Daredevil, 2) They had gone 3 months without watching it, 3) They had managed to avoid all spoilers about him being in.

V: "He killed us in another universe!"

V: "Hmmm, fine! But only because we were kind of jerks in that other universe!"
    E: "Ok, good."

Not every episode needs to end with a venom Easter egg or a portal opening. It can be 20 minute long sitcom type episodes.

The Daredevil Netflix show is literally 10x better than every Tom Holland Spider-man movie that's been released lmao. It's not even close.
Charlie Cox will get the recognition he deserves soon though. They are already working on DD S4 and I'm hype asf.

For whatever faults this movie may have it represents an extremely unique opportunity in movies that will never be replicated organically again. They could certainly try this with, say, Batman but tonally it would probably never fly and would likely feel like the hamfisted Five Doctors DW special from 83. It's also hilarious that we owe that to Sony's incessant need for constant Spider-Man
