Interesting segment. Your Maverick looks really good and thanks for sharing. Any rumblings of a AWD hybrid as a future option for the Maverick that anyone has heard of? Curious if that would increase tow capacity and or change mpg compared to the FWD hybrid.
Thanks! I'm sure it'll come down the pipe in the future. I think they had to put out an efficient cheap version first. The ST, Tremor, Raptor, AWD Hybrid versions will come eventually.
I asked on another thread and second that it will come later. Never bought a Ford before and most manufacturers typically have 'generations.' Seems like Ford has a 'flavor' for its vehicles instead.
Yeah it was a lot of work, but worth it. Haven't seen another Maverick in town with 32s. Had to relocate the ECU, make my own fender liners, and trim the pinch welds. Now it's a dream.
Selling my Jeep wrangler with 35” and 2.5 lift to get maverick hybrid.. expecting delivery in may 2022. (In couple of weeks) i don't think i want to lift the maverick,, i had my share with lift kits.. i find that lifting a vehicle has its con… the handling isn't as good as stock. Unless you put a real expensive full kit which should include all 8 control arms and sway bars/link and driveshaft mod. $4k kit…. So i will probably leave my hybrid stock.. but its cool to see how my next vehicle looks like with bigger tires..
I have lots of Maverick build videos on my channel. Here's the lift install: th-cam.com/video/VQ-keHaXuOU/w-d-xo.html If you don't want to trim you could run 31s with no trimming.
You could just divide the new tire size by the old tire size and multiply the distance traveled (32.1/28.5=1.1263*277.7=312.77...close enough-since you should be actually measuring tire size)
the only things I hate about the maverick is you can get a 2021 f150 stx or xlt 4x4 with 2.7 for 32 thousand and mpg of 21 ,so which truck would u get the same price as a maverick
Here's a short update I did a while back. Yes, I had to do a lot of trimming of the pinch welds, fender liners, and relocated the ECU (which is directly in front of the driver front wheel). I took off the front bumper to do that. If you go with 31s you shouldn't have to trim. It was a little bit of with, but the look and stance is what I wanted. No problems now. th-cam.com/video/KioAe4mS0_E/w-d-xo.html
All my previous turbos called for 91. Ford recommends 91 for "max" performance, when towing, etc. Maverick calls for 87 minimum actually. In our high elevation in Colorado Springs we have 85 at the pump too. I've seen other videos of guys running 85 in their Mavericks, but I don't think I ever will.
We’re your previous turbo vehicles direct injected? Kinda defeats the purpose of buying an economy minded vehicle if you’re gonna have to run fuel that’s $1 more per gallon. Effectively could be running an F-150 on regular fuel and end up the same cost per mile.
Hmm deep question. Typically higher elevation areas have higher octane fuel due to the thinner/less dense air. Lowest we have in CO is 87. In CA you can get 85 for instance. High performance engines that see higher temps, high compression, have turbos, or superchargers usually call for higher octane fuel. The higher the octane the more resistance it has to detonation. Meaning it doesn't ignite pre-maturely under extreme pressure or heat, but only when it's intended to ignite by the spark plug.
Different gearing when done correctly will cancel out most but not all loss in mpg. The reason it doesn't just equal it back out is because of the weight of larger tires and the lift. A large lift often creates more drag which makes the engine work harder.

You need to take it in and get it aligned to a Toyota Tacoma alignment setting. I have the same tires same rims. Let me know if you need the video I’ll show you mine. I’m doing 450 miles to the tank.
But not nearly what they are hoping for. 23mpg is a far cry from the 35mpg they were saying pre production for the Maverick with the 2.0 Ecoboost and the 40+ for the high bred. Hell I had a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that got 22mpg.
Go ahead. I didn't want a Ranger. Especially the current tadpole looking one. It's great for how I use it. The stance is nearly perfect. And still fits in the garage. To each his own.
Would love to see more videos of the exterior of the truck. It looks like you have the perfect set up. Please post more with exterior details.
You have a nice maverick bro you should post it more 👍
Yea no kiddin. Makin me reconsider the Cactus grey color 🤔

Yikes, glad I ordered the hybrid. Especially now with gas prices all over the place.
Lmfao, if you think that is bad, imagine getting 17mpg in a Mazda3 hatch. Yeah.. not sure what is happening with that.
In my AWD ecoboost I’ve been getting 27 mpg. Cruise control on mostly flat 60 mph roads.

Why you used premium gas ? I thought most of the American cars used regular unleaded.
Turbocharged engines usually require higher octane fuel.
@@keganmowery4223 the car doesn't need premium it is just used for performance you will lose horsepower but you can run Regular.

Yes for the rated hp numbers 91 or high is recommended.
