  • This Aprilia RSV4 Factory 2021 review is NOT about reading stuff from a brochure or press release or just giving out numbers. This is the most detailed review you would find on any online platform. I am a RSV4 RF owner for 4 years and I have plenty of road and track experience with the Aprilia RSV4 RF and I have really broken down the new bike's features into detailed sections in this video complete with info graphics, facts and views.

      On the little triangle coating I suspect that wind tunnel tests will show a stable boundary layer that results from the local turbulence.
      Sharks skin has this for speed in the water so it's fully evolved...

    I would like to give you a HUGE THANK YOU! I have been researching every aspect of the 21 rsv4 factory and bought one yesterday! Your videos helped me solidify my choice, they were highly informative, unbiased, detailed and easy to understand. At that price range I didn’t want to rush into the purchase and be unsatisfied with the bike. Keep up the videos you may not think they make a difference or people are not watching they are. Thank you

      Haha Clive, I knew you would mention about the looks. I know from the front the pictures don't do justice but these wings actually are very well blended into the fairing and don't seem so outrageously visible. Fantastic video and thank you for taking the time to put it together. I've got a base model 19' Tuono which I love. I've upgraded it with TTx rear shock, akra slip on, SRJL pads, etc... @ChasingTenths  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, your Tuono sounds well nice , I am working on the new Tuono V4 video but to be honest if you go for the new RSV4, the comfort levels have improved so much more with more ground clearance, pegs position , wider screen and seat , more leverage on the clip ons. You will really feel at home on the new RSV4.
      I wish you all the best , if you buy one please share the photos on my Aprilia dedicated page, see description for the link. We like to see what people have got and what they do with it in terms of upgrades .

      @@ChasingTenths Thanks for the reply and additional perspective. The Tuono is so good I'm really debating the change. As good as the Tuono is on track I know the RSV4 would be even better. I waited until late in life to start doing track days, but I'm glad I did. It's so much fun to ride these amazing machines in their native habitat.

      @ChasingTenths  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@quick6629 a lot of people started doing Trackdays very late in life , I do many trackday videos on the Aprilia , feel free to check them out , but yes Tuono and RSV4 both are fantastic Trackday machines , the inherent torque of the Tuono really pulls it out of corners , it’s no slouch on track . But I am not much of an upright riding guy , the RSV4 makes a lot more sense on track . Keep both ;)

    Massive great review, your knowledge and passion show through. Can you show more electronic riding on the latest vs. older model? It's one of the few components a user can't modify. Also any issues with mapping from factory (RBW and neutered as stock)?

      Thanks Emily for the kind words. I am definitely super passionate about riding and especially Aprilias. I actually didn't understand the question, Electronic riding ys older models? , do you mean latest electronics versus old ones? There are no mapping issues from Factory, the maps get updated regularly by dealerships especially if you go for the akrapovic systems.I still think I haven't answered question properly , please do expand on your question.

      @ChasingTenths  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am working on the Tuono video and that has more onboard footage , to be honest , in both the Tuono video and the rsv4 video , I didn't put the under water case or a sound proofing around the 360 degree camera and now all you can hear is wind and that really put me off. I should have made sure there was a case around the camera so sound would coming through. Will definitely put more onboard footage next time , good shout that. . Cruciata is working on those fairings you mentioned Brian. This is a popular track bike , soon the market will be flooded with fairings I bet. Thanks for commenting, feel free to ask anything

Is there an Aprilia Thatcham approved alarm/immobiliser fitted as standard? Aprilia accessories for the RSV4 Factory E5 list Electronic Antitheft for £109. Is this in addition to the std fit alarm/immobiliser, or is this the only OEM security that you can buy from Aprilia?

    Hello Abhi, this is one of the most in depth review out there and this deserved praise! Great video you did there. There is only a few topics, that are still floating around that prevent me from buying.
    There is German magazine that stated, that the whole bike starts getting unsettled by giving it throttle while hitting small bumps in corners on the racetrack. They assumed that the reason for this is the new swing arm, which you also described as being stiffer. Can you confirm this behavior? Also, there are reports that the anti wheelie is still rather unrefined, as it brings down the front wheel pretty harshly. Is that still the case?

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much for the kind words.
      I know exactly what they mean by the small bumps , I felt them too but that can easily be dialled out by sorting the settings on the rear suspension. The electronic suspension is very good , it goes from extreme hard to extreme soft and if someone doesn’t play around with it then it won’t do what you want it to do. It has the ability to either glide over the bumps or absorb them , absorption is better sometimes harder setting isn’t the answer , a slight give in the suspension can be better. In terms of the wheel , you can lower it down to absolutely minimum , but then at the same time you need to slightly stiffen the electronic damper and the bike will go up and come down with not much drama. I found no such issues , anyone who tests this bike needs to constantly adjust the setting to try different things , the bike truly changes

      I really can’t comment on it unless I ride with those settings and feel it . So as journalists I have high regards for them , I am sure their feedback is actually better than mine. But what I would say is that these little things they mention are nip picking , every time you ride a bike you have to mention something bad and they probably didn’t like bumps on that particular settings and the wheelie setings .to be honest, nothing on that bike can be NOT dialled out , everything can be set up to change different things

But I can’t understand why it would cut power on full throttle
      3000km is enough for it to go through the teething problems .

However, I can tell you the both their electronic packages are brilliant , S1000RR M has always been road and race specialist , RSV4 is an out and out race & track animal, but now it’s more ergonomically good. I would say both bikes have similar electronic offerings, BMW is new & very much advanced and I would say it has more German new tech for all sorts of conditions road & race , on the otherside RSV4 is more race orientated. It’s a very difficult question, my head says BMW has a better electronic pack, my heart says RSV4.
      Both are great bikes with superb electronics . BMW is slightly ahead on electronics I would say

      The new RSV4 is pretty decent on the road as the ergonomics have changed drastically , I did a 2 hour ride and I had no cramps or issues but then I am 5 feet 8 but someone over 6 feet might find it slightly cramped on long journeys, the previous RSV4 models were a lot cramped than this one, the new lower slung swingarm and tank has allowed them to create more room for the rider . Appreciate the comment Steven, I honestly can’t ride and talk and justify a detailed review like that . Because you always forget to mention something.
      The whole point of this was to decipher everything the bike has to offer siting calmly and talking . However, I tend to agree that there should have been more riding involved there.
      I promise you, the following Tuono upcoming review will have a lot more riding. Thanks for being constructive in your comment . Lovely 😊

    Tidy video.. more on-board and V4 engine sound next time.. its an expensive bike but finally has moved on and now keeps up with competitors

      Yup , I totally agree with you , next time more footage for sure. I still think it will be the best bike out of the bunch again like most years ;)

    The non factory look gorgeous.i hated the red seat. Is it possible to upgrade RR to use ttx suspension? I assume it would plug n play.

      Absolutely, you can easily put the TTX on there
      No issues at all
      To be honest , secretly I am a bigger fan of the non factory. Think of that as a blank canvas and you really put your stamp on it . :)
