I think TD/sc3 are decent for people beginning to try slicks. Move to Sc1 Front and Sc2 Rear later. For 1000cc bikes goes on the budget. Sc2 can be done in a day or so . Always use warmers, even on TD tires. Too many 1st lap heros drop their bikes, specially front wash out.
Just been watching all your Andulucia footage again, super helping me prepare for a No limits trip end of this month. There are very few track line and marker guides for Andulucia be great to see one! Seems very tricky to learn markers
@@LowsideLew thanks very much mate. Yes it’s a bit tricky to learn that learnt I’ll be honest , it’s a little while , plenty of undulating corners , bumps and turn 1 is tricky but first day you will hate it and then you will love it .. spend first day simply learning it .. thanks for watching
What ring colour do you prefer and would recommend for road and race
@@ImmortalStrengthPowerlifting I have the white one all the time which if I remember was the most aggressive but mine is a full time track bike and after 2 trackdays you get used to it , the medium one is great for road and some trackdays (I honestly forgot which colour was the medium but it’s in the video 🙈)

Great video How much noise does this new system generate? Still legal for your average UK track day? Do you map each gear individually on an Aprilia?
Got a question for you will it affect speedometer on a 2006 f4i cbr
@@OTEA-vu6ek yes it can affect , because the speed sensor as far as I can remember is behind the engine , ontop of the crankcase, above the transmission, behind the silver starter housing….. I think that’s the same with 2006… if the speed sensor is in the wheel then it will not affect it
Thanks for the info👍
What is your preferred rear size and aspect ratio? I just bought a 2016 rsv4 rf yesterday for track duty, stock suspension. I forgot to look at the tire sizes and it comes later this week. A buddy says that 200/60 is the best size and profile, I don't know what suits the bike best however? I believe the bike comes with a 190 rear tire.
@@f.stopperrmedia1606 if you have a 2016 RSV4 rf. First of all congratulations you just bought the best Bike ever, I am biased of course I’m secondly your bike comes with a 200 rear tire and the best balance between Road And Race aspect ratio is it 200/60 Even a 200/55 is pretty good if you are mainly going to do Road Miles , if majority of your riding is going to be on the race track then 200/60 is a better option..
@@ChasingTenths Yeah I bought it as a dedicated track bike. I was using an older Ducati Hypermotard, definitely not a track oriented but it was great fun. I was looking at the Panigale V4s for a while, I just couldn't justify the prices. So I found a 2016 rsv4 rf with 4067 miles in great shape from a guy in New Hampshire (USA). 200/60 was the idea, thanks for the feedback! Can't wait to get it out next season. Not many people make content with these bikes, very glad I found your channel.
@@f.stopperrmedia1606 thanks very much for the kind words mate.. honestly, I have ridden the Ducati v4 , this Aprilia is so easy to handle , the front of the bike is extremely planted even when you push it beyond certain limits .. and don’t worry about chasing power . Your bike will make around 175 bhp to 182 bhp on the back wheel, and that’s plenty as you will make plenty of time up under braking and mid corner
@@ChasingTenths awesome, the bike should suit my strong points then. A lot of that I got through your videos, if I hadn’t found your channel I may not have ended up with this bike. I wanted something that wasn’t ballistic and un-ridable. 175-180 hp is plenty enough for me at the current moment. I like to carry high entry speeds (high compared to other novice/intermediate riders in my groups at track days) and leave it late on the brakes. I’m new to the track so I’m still learning, but I’d consider myself on the faster end for my skill level. You’ve been an excellent reference. A bike that was easy to ride with good stability was absolutely the #1 priority.
@@f.stopperrmedia1606 I am really happy for you honestly and so glad you found my channel useful .. I need to make a few more videos then lol Just make sure valve clearances and service intervals are met according to the TRACK miles schedule on the manual and the bike will pay you dividends
Good info.

But once you moving, wow. Also have a 23 Street Triple 765 moto 2 which shows how far Triumph have come with there triples. The RSV4 is such a beast on the brakes! You reel him in so fast. Equally though, as soon as you have a long straight, that V4R is GONE. He's clearly tiptoeing through the braking zones and the apex, needs more confidence on that bike, but you both were having some fun. I love to see it!
@@f.stopperrmedia1606 you are absolutely spot on, we definitely had a lot of fun that day , it’s a shame Silverstone has stopped bike trackdays until further notice , it’s so wide, you can multiple lines into corners and exit

Your problem is the gasoline, that messed up your carbs. These carbs do not like mixed gasoline.
@@Steve25g well, looks like I found the hardway Steve … cheers for the info
@@ChasingTenths had a first gen 750, and exactly the same gsxr too. And same year yam. Xt. The moment, they put alcohol in the gasoline, it was crying. Either you run the engine every week twice, or run into this problem. It even attacks rubber parts in the carbs I changed my carbs to the 'tuning carbs', and that solved the problem . They still clog, but seem to unclog again. Not sure after a year though..
@@Steve25g what you have said there Steve makes absolute sense and I’ll be honest with you. I’ve learned my lesson and I also spoke to a Suzuki classic personnel who told me to simply empty the carburettors of petrol before every winter and not to add any fuel additive
@@ChasingTenths agreed, while emptying the carbs is a solution, you need to make sure, they are completely empty. Had the same issue with my xt. Took of carbs, cleaned them , with gasoline, two days later, problem returned,... It actually got better, after changing carbs to mikuni rs.

@@ChasingTenths Iv got a few days coming up at Cartagena in march and was planning on bringing a couple td rears as I have a couple new ones spare but maybe an sc2/3 for the front? What do you think? What’s your experience on the sc3 I can’t seem to find many videos apart from your comparison?
@@gkat123 so the SC three Pirelli slick is very good when the weather is not hot if the weather gets hot the tire will start sliding the compound of the Perelli SC3 slick is very similar to the Metz TD … the main differences you get more aspect ratios with the Perelli so you can get that 60 ratio and 65 ratio so you have more contact patch on the side compared to the TD compound which only comes in 55 ratio but that has never bothered me… for the front you can useSC1 or SC2 .. you’ll be fine … TD is perfect for Spain at this time because Spain will not get too hot but just remember the tyre pressure must be 25 psi hot in the rear or if it gets too hot then 24 psi you don’t need to go lower than that … I have tried the Sc3 five times during an endurance race but it started sliding when it got hot and also you need to think about the pricing Pirelli sadly is very expensive

@ChasingTenths LiPO batteries require a specific maintenance charger that understands the battery chemistry. Further they are temperature sensitive so that instant start in cold weather is not possible. You have to leave it on for 10 min to drain gently and heat the cells. Once they are up to temperature you can start and enjoy the large cold cranking amps (cold engine). Some people store them indoors.. I recommend Oxford Products who can assure the maintenance charger compatibility. No agent relationship.
Never run a Carbon wheel with loose material inside as the impact at speed is not supported and can puncture the wheel. So you did the right thing to swap out and repair..
@ChasingTenths Hi Abhi the faring panel above your front wheel looks like a Carbon Aramid weave which provides a mix of strength properties; Carbon tensile strength, Aramid puncture resistance. A well known Aramid fibre is Kevlar branded, and used in bullet proof vests. Kevlar™DuPont, I believe.
@@lonpfrb wow Brilliant stuff mate Thanks for that info That’s why my bike crashes so well 🙈🙈🙈
Screw things 5:15 are rivets, probably press fit.
Long footpegs and mid-frame bungs 6:20 are good on tarmac but a risk of flipping at the curb and into gravel where a dig in can enable a flip along the long front/back axis. Worth walking the circuit to understand the curb height and this risk.
@@lonpfrb cheers mate
@@lonpfrb I know mate but luckily I have been lucky that bike never flipped but they saved a lot of damage for me in a few crashes , I always say , we can’t simulate a perfect crash ever
2K in 2021, about £1500 today.
@@bobupen6476 it all depends on condition , if one spends time and money on it then it keeps the value , these bikes are keep their value unless abused
It's crazy, grrr
Mine is 1990 in red white and blue, 29K on the clock, great condition. She’s on ebay for £1650, absolutely zero interest. A C90 seems to be more valuable !
@@ChasingTenths No.
@@bobupen6476 Oohh ok I totally understand what you mean , I guess times are hard
Does anyone know if they are still in business? Their website seems to be down. Great video. Thanks in advance.
They still are for sure, the owner races himself and in the UK race season is full on, but i am surprise the website is down
This is a fabulous video and really covers everything. Did a track day in 1990 on the Honda VFR400, rode up from London with a bunch of mates and had a wicked day. Keep them coming please.
@@michaelslater8535 thanks ever so much Michael, much much appreciated.. that’s made my bank holiday weekend that

I totally agree, its a superb sound
good sir thanks for sharing such exclusive Duc track day footage Was mildly surprised by you misidentifying a 1st gen Streetfighter for a Monster
Thanks very much for the clarification, I do apologise and thanks for the appreciation , :)

Amazing overview!
@@detro3run thank you very much :)
On the BST you have to replace the crush drive bushings. Frequency depends on how jerky the bike is ridden. They do not last long on my bike. I have yet to find a tougher than oem bushing. ?
Love the 1100K 👍🏻 am a big fan of oil cooled GSXRs, have a special Slingshot myself. If the charging system is working well, you can use a lithium battery, mine's been on for 9 years and has worked perfectly. Good lithium batteries have circuitry to help protect them and as you'll know, you can leave the bike for months without a trickle charger......plus they weigh the same as an empty box !
@@nickrider5220 you are spot on , about 5 people have told me since the video that lithium are ok , wish I went lithium way , I’ve got that on my race bike and it’s been superb So glad you have a special slingshot Lovely comment Thank you
Ahh the "Killer K" On modern tyres these handle a lot better that when they were released. They were slated by the press when they came out for their evil handling when at speed, and the fateful 1989 TT Production race that saw Phil Mellor and Jamie Whitham crash their ill handling K's, resulting in the death of Mellor & Steve Henshaw.
@@uhtred7860 wow, thanks for that info, I didn’t know that at all Everyday’s a school day
This is snake oil. Never attach something like this to your swingarm or forks. The device Renault used was attached to the chassis, not the end of the wheels! You can never stop tire chatter on a racetrack, as the track has lots of bumps created by the racing cars with their super sticky tires and big wings. The "Mass Damper" the GP bikes use is mounted in the chassis, not the wheels. This is JUNK! RUN AWAY!
