    Thanks so much for this great video! We have the same exact trailer so your videos have been super helpful. We just went on and ordered the door lock and these new compartment locks using your code.

    That's strange that my comment disappeared. This was a great video. I will be adding this to my wishlist. Thank you.

    It would help immensely if you had done a close up on each component. Changing locks is totally out of my skill set. It would help if I knew the names of each of the bits. The video being so far away is frustrating. I mean, I am happy that you got better locks installed. But, the video didn’t help me get mine installed.
    Im a very senior solo lady with a skill set in medicine, not RV lock replacement.
    Would love to be notified if you make a close up video with each bit named. Thanks!

      Thank you for your feedback. We will take this into consideration going forward. Not sure if this helps but here is a few more videos that may cover more information.

    How do you change them when the old lock is seized and won't unlock to open the door?

    Which lock size did you use? Was it the same for both baggage doors? Did you install it on the outdoor kitchen door as well? If so, what size? Thanks in advance!

      We did 7/8. I got a 5 pack. Put two on each door. In the kitchen one I put a thumb latch in the middle.

    Great video! I'm looking to replace the locks on my Coachman Cross Trail with Azdel walls. The problem is that the storage doors are 2 inch thick and I can't find a 2 inch long replacement lock. Would you happen to have a resource for that? I looked up and down the Internet, Amazon, ILH and Latch It but no one offers a 2 inch long storage lock. Thanks.

      Would this work? It says it’s 2 inch. Are you sure you are measuring from the right spots? Most RVs are the same. I know I measured in other first time.

    So does that key open everyone that buys that lock too?

    • @firesideweekenders
      @firesideweekenders  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it does not. It is a different type of key and they are keyed unique to each lock set.

    Hi Ricardo,
    Newbie question here. Is the key supposed to come out after you place the key in the unlock position? My key comes out in the locked position but stays put in the unlocked position. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Thank you.

    • @firesideweekenders
      @firesideweekenders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is supposed to come out, that is why there is two notches. I ran into the same issue and it took me a few times to get the washer in the correct placement. I would pause the video right where I call it out and make sure to put the washer exactly the same way.

    So does this mean that these lock’s keys are not duplicated?

      No they are not duplicates from other campers but all my doors are keyed alike.

      7/8. I got a 5 pack so I can do two per door. And in the kitchen I moved the thumb latch to the middle.

      @@firesideweekenders I’m probably going to get the 5 pack as well. I’m going to use 2 on each door and 1 on the shower door.

    I have a much better, more complex, storage area lock system that came with my trailer. Sorry but guide doesn't work for me. Like the locks.

    How do you remove a locked compartment lock

    • @firesideweekenders
      @firesideweekenders  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to have access from the inside to do it. If not, you would probably have to drill it out or have a locksmith.
