I've recently gotten back into magic and found your channel. I left around 2021 and got into Pokemon more because my interests changed and I found myself finding more joy in collecting than playing. I was a modern and legacy player who couldn't keep up with things constantly changing. Pokemon was great because the majority of people collect the cards because they look cool rather than play with them. I recently started picking up some old school magic cards again because I love their look. I may get into edh, but I am happy to fill up a binder and just look at the cards. I'm happy to find a channel that looks at magic through a collecting lense rather than just playing for once!
I think it is utter sh*t when you have a limited number of tickets and no way to just pay to be able to go only to the vendors and spend money. When I heard about the Con and that all tickets were sold and you could not just buy a ticket to go to the vendor stalls I wanted to rage at the stupidity of the organizers. I was about to jump into MTG but this is seriously turning me off MTG. Instead I spend 2k on Inklands and other tcgs at my local stores. ANY convention should have a means to make people get in to the sellers area at least when not interested in playing there.

I have commented on other videos talking about purchasing reserved list dual lands and other commander playable RL cards like mox diamond. And some jokers reply that it is stupid for me to buy those instead of modern cards because wizards is going to reprint them lol. They just sound jealous imo

Always enjoy going the the various cons and events. Would love to seen more people be able to get in.
I really wish you could ask the organizers if you manage to meet them as to why they made such an awful decision to not allow walkins just to the sales area? Or sell tickets just for that area.
I don’t think I’d be able to ask why or get an answer from someone who made the decision but I see what you are saying - I agree that events like this selling out for general admission just feels bad :-(

I would say it depends on what you're looking for in terms of niche. I remember that I went looking for a foil common at a convention because the artist happened to be in attendance, no luck out of at least a dozen vendors. Now if I was looking for a foil rare or mythic, I'm sure I could have picked up dozens.

Okay how does buying singles on a secondary market actually motivate people to buy sealed product though? Oh wait... it doesn't really.
Eternals are going to ruin this game both mechanically with powercreep and financially with constant reprints to get some money out of staples (and ruining any value they would have had), wizards needs to pull the plug on edh or you never have to open a pack to play the game again and because its not a competitive format the demand has a hard cap regardless of supply because of proxies... You have to get people to care about the cards in a box more than those one or two pulls and that is impossible with a card pool over 30 years old.
This is about game stores and places where physical games are played, not market stipulation in some guys basement waiting for number to go back up. The bubble is bursting, too much of the game belongs to people who would have never purchased it without financial gain as their primary goal. Sellers selling to sellers, turns out they just means there was never the real demand in a consumer base. Cards as investment is cancer and now its finally eating itself.
WotC would have already went under without EDH. What you want is not going to happen. By next year 75% of all product will be Universes Beyond and Commander. 3/4 of all of it. Because its keeping Hasbro's doors open. Economics is nearly as unforgiving as the law of the jungle. You are wishing for the impossible. You will be disappointed. The bubble already burst... why can't you see it?

You need a bulk vendor at magic cons, eh? Hummm..... maybe i should vend out bulk at cons for like a buck or 2 a card. That wouldn't very well be doing "right" by the community selling bulk at inflated prices. But if you could get enough per card... i wonder, could it be worth the trouble? I mean, they get away with selling $5 bottles of water at Sea World cuz you have no other option... maybe people wouldn't mind spending more cuz they need it now.
Tbh e problem is the price of the slots - they are very expensive.

Anyone have any idea what vendors at these conventions pay for cards like esper sentinel or jeweled lotus compared to cardkingdom
Most vendors are paying slightly above rate for commander staples because they sell them so quickly!
