    Clear and to the point. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
    I am currently trying to learn SQL, trying it with a book at the moment ('Learn SQL' by Jamie Chan). It's for beginner's and I like how easily the author has explained each concept. I am enjoying it so far. I worked for almost 5 years as a consultant (started back in 2016), took almost 1 and a half year gap right after due to personal reasons and now, I am trying to see what role I am interested in/ role I might be a better fit for, to re- enter the workforce.
    To be honest, 'anything that gets you moving', makes for a wonderful hobby/ habit. Fitness rewards in so many ways. I never took interest in staying physically fit earlier but lately I have been into a combination of workouts and I so appreciate them. They set a tone for the day, keep me active, focused, STRONG - I can lift and move heavy things like no biggie, go up and down the staircase many times without breaking a sweat. I do enjoy walking more than running though.
    Anyway, I have much regard for you for bringing clarity in not only everyday work of a DA, but also other aspects of it - including the resume - without making it all seem like a daunting/overwhelming task.

      @mo-chen  ปีที่แล้ว

    This is interesting also a reminder of my mistake. I'm not in a data science job but I work with DA and DS as Business Intelligence(tools like SAS, tableau and Rstudio) and I've been learning ML/DS for almost 1.5 years and I made the biggest mistake of only "learning" and not creating a project so my resume is basically empty. I guess its not too late and I'm building it now hope I get the job by End of the year 🤞🤞

    Hey Mo, your channes is fantastic. I would like to share advice I wish I knew earlier. First, it's better to keep your resume colorless and with simple design. Colorful and overdesigned reumes make a resume more amateourus. Moreover, the two column format can be distracting. Recruiters look over a resume from top to bottom in 5 seconds. You'd better make sure that they see the skills section first just below your name. They are looking for keywords so it's important it's the first thing they see and may last on the resume for a few more seconds. Moreover, it takes too much space. The same thing with bulletpoints. There's too much white space. It's better to make bigger font but with small margins and white space. For the same reason I'd put working dates on the right to the job title on the left. It takes too much space. I would also add an additional portfolio page with 1-2 dashboards so the recruiter can instantly see examples of your work. They are less likely to go to a website or git. Languages section is also extraneous and takes too much space. I add it when I apply for jobs in my country to show that I speak Englihs. However, US companies dont' care about any languages but English. The content is awesome but I think it needs redesign in terms of appearance.

    • @mo-chen
      @mo-chen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot for highlighting the specific points! Writing CVs like this one got me through to interviews at multiple international organisations and smaller boutique firms - but I'm sure I can make it even better. Thanks a lot for watching 😁

      I’m remote actually and have a day in the life coming out very soon, hopefully this will give you a better insight into a typical day. I love working with technical people, solving any data related problems. But life is about balance so what I love about work is that I get to work on interesting, challenging and fun things, whilst it also allows me to be remote, and do other things that I also enjoy. Thanks a lot for watching David 😄

    Please can you share your own advise on getting your resume on a single page. I heard most recruiter prefer a single page resume.
