am planning to do a career switch, I work as a video editor the pay for the media industry where I'm at right now is so low, one could only survive eating grass and lizards lol... jokes aside* Any advise for a brotha novice to kick start as a data analyst?
I feel that... i do editing on the side for a pretty large TH-cam channel and the pay has been awful I would say start learning hard skills like SQL and Excel, then apply them to a project! The only thing between you and a person in the industry is experience. Since you are new, you need to make your own experience and then go from there! Thankfully a lot of resources and ways to make your own project! i just made a video about that if you do need some easy initial pointers! th-cam.com/video/RcP7nq3tJV4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vfHiHna4H8_bk4GX
it is... but more than that gaining experience and speaking to those is what matters more! doing anything you can to start your own projects and building out your resume will be key on top of the skills you possess
hello sir is there any way to connect to you. please believe me I really need consultancy from some experience in the regarding field. I've thoroughly learned quite much in this field by my self. I have some questions in my mind that can only be answered by some expert like you.
this is another general term for a data analyst! i would say a specialist is more broad where a data analyst is more descriptive. a data specialist could also be: - Data Engineer - Data Visualizations - Data Analytics i would definitely check and see what the job description says and match it up to your own skills!
depends on the role! most companies want in office working post pandemic I personally believe all data roles should be fully remote. With nearly all systems in the cloud, there's no reason to be in person besides better collaboration. Most Data work is done on our own too! I'm still searching for my new role at the moment, but definitely prioritizing remote or hybrid work.
I really wanna be a data analyst, but I don’t have a laptop. I mean I can’t afford one, I just go to the cafe to use the computer over there. I need help please 🙏🏾😔
Get a job, a regular non tech job and save up for the laptop. Make a plan and work your plan. You can also get a library card, and see if the local libraries allow you to use their computers to learn programming.
Dude the content in the video is great, but for the love of god stop the coffee sipping every 10 sec. it's really annoying and degrades the experience of watching your video.

@@Lulu0301 this is a great question!! I believe it helps, but isn’t necessary if you’re trying to go into Data Science that’s where i think it’s pretty critical and is a need to know!
Great Video brother! A video on the day to day use of SQL would be great for a beginner like me. Kindly, let us know how " much " SQL must one know to be considered a good technical data analyst? Subscribed!
Great question! Python def leans more towards data science and using Machine Learning Models! So more towards that business intelligence engineer position Using SQL is the industry standard and it’s a simpler way to do it, esp working with databases and such! Plus it’s what most analysts require more so than Python

Data analyst still worth it? I just completed my college degree and planning to dive into Data analyst
it is! still a great industry with many different routes and paths so :') i still highly recommend it!
am planning to do a career switch, I work as a video editor the pay for the media industry where I'm at right now is so low, one could only survive eating grass and lizards lol... jokes aside* Any advise for a brotha novice to kick start as a data analyst?
I feel that... i do editing on the side for a pretty large TH-cam channel and the pay has been awful
I would say start learning hard skills like SQL and Excel, then apply them to a project! The only thing between you and a person in the industry is experience. Since you are new, you need to make your own experience and then go from there!
Thankfully a lot of resources and ways to make your own project! i just made a video about that if you do need some easy initial pointers!

im gonna keep making videos about self project making soon so keep on the look out for those!
@@TimothyJoo Thanks for the resource! Keep dropping these gems!
Definitely brotha!
is it possible to get an analyst position with only certifications and training? ( possible without a degree?? )
it is... but more than that gaining experience and speaking to those is what matters more! doing anything you can to start your own projects and building out your resume will be key on top of the skills you possess
hello sir is there any way to connect to you. please believe me I really need consultancy from some experience in the regarding field. I've thoroughly learned quite much in this field by my self. I have some questions in my mind that can only be answered by some expert like you.
Great video but if I see you slurping your coffee in any other videos I will not make it to the end
HAHAHA whoops, i may have done a lil too much ASMR 🤣
Do data analyst have to do a lot of formal presentantions?
they do not! it would be more focused on showcasing your dashboard and results but def depends on the company and industry you are in!
@@TimothyJoo And how exactly are done the showcase of a dashboard
would mind giving me an example
Damn let a man drink his lil bev. Thanks for the vid dude 🤝🏻
LMAO thank you, i appreciate this
Is this the same as Data Specialist? If not is Data Specialist easier than being a Data Analyst?
this is another general term for a data analyst! i would say a specialist is more broad where a data analyst is more descriptive.
a data specialist could also be:
- Data Engineer
- Data Visualizations
- Data Analytics
i would definitely check and see what the job description says and match it up to your own skills!
@@TimothyJoo thank you
@@girlwakeuppodcast4622 ofc!! anytime anytime 😁
Why's everyone complaining about his sipping, it's not even that bad lmao
thank you 🥹 HAHA
Please don’t use the coffee think anymore. Other than that you very good explanation 😊
Please answer, you are remote or office working
depends on the role! most companies want in office working post pandemic
I personally believe all data roles should be fully remote. With nearly all systems in the cloud, there's no reason to be in person besides better collaboration. Most Data work is done on our own too!
I'm still searching for my new role at the moment, but definitely prioritizing remote or hybrid work.
@@TimothyJoo I really liked your reply to my question Thank you
I really wanna be a data analyst, but I don’t have a laptop.
@@kimariokiji thank you so much 🙏🏾
Dude the content in the video is great, but for the love of god stop the coffee sipping every 10 sec. it's really annoying and degrades the experience of watching your video.
Hey i saw your vidio its very intresting and i am engineer and i had worked as software developer but due to some reason i had gap of 4 years .can i get job in good company with this data analytics. Plz plz reply me and do u teach i want to learn from u if u teach plz plz help me with this
Please don’t drink during the videos 🙄🤢
Does a data scientist need to be reaallyyy good in statistics ?
@@Lulu0301 this is a great question!! I believe it helps, but isn’t necessary
if you’re trying to go into Data Science that’s where i think it’s pretty critical and is a need to know!
That light is hurting my eyes.
woowoowow
wowowow
Great vlog, I like the way you explain all this 😎
awww thank you so much! I appreciate it so much!
Great Video brother! A video on the day to day use of SQL would be great for a beginner like me. Kindly, let us know how " much " SQL must one know to be considered a good technical data analyst? Subscribed!
ooooo this is a great idea! I’ll make a video on this topic! Thank you so much!
Great information, but please drink your coffee it was eeww.
Tnx for all the value in this video!
But please stop sipping your coffee that much, it kind of breaks the rythm😅
awww I’m glad! Also HAHA I will chill on the coffee, that’s my fault 🤣🤣
I was trying to make it more interesting but maybe it was too distracting LOL
why not python, you will do a lot of analysis using python
Great question! Python def leans more towards data science and using Machine Learning Models! So more towards that business intelligence engineer position
Using SQL is the industry standard and it’s a simpler way to do it, esp working with databases and such! Plus it’s what most analysts require more so than Python
