Consumer Drones for High Precision Mapping

To address the current problem of high price and high technical threshold of mapping-grade drone, we proposed a solution of high-precision mapping by using the consumer-grade drone Phantom 4 RTK combined with the PPK post-processing method. The accuracy of the final results has been validated by field tests. The results show that the accuracy of this solution can fully meet the needs of large-scale digital topographic mapping, and it has less dependence on the control point of the image, which can effectively reduce the potential risks in the fieldwork.
