haha lol, I must say: the YT algo got me landed on your channel since we're interested in the new Model 3. Next to the car performance information I really enjoy seeing you devouring the pastries. When I'm in Portugal I will def buy some pastel de nata's 😁
Thank you! If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask and I can try answer them either in a future video or to your comment here :) Others might also add to the answers
Thank you! One of the real estate agents mentioned Vila do Conde when we were looking around Matosinhos, but it seems a bit far out - we will check it out next time we are up north :)
I own a model 3 and live in Portugal. I would recommend looking into the public charger network since they are often way better positioned and less congested than the Tesla ones.
Thanks for watching! I've used the 3rd party public chargers but they're so incredibly expensive! Do you have some sort of membership or discount program?
After the mini Pastel de Nata, it's an Alsaciano and the other one it's a Cronut. You should also try Bolo D'Oro but you can only find it in Lisbon I believe...😅 Also go to to Sintra and try the Travesseiros and Queijadas from Sapa.
@@nkabessa Os melhores são os da Sapa 🤤 Os da Piriquita já foram bons mas não sei o que lhes fizeram que já não são os mesmos. Da Casa do Preto então, são os piores. 🤷♂️
You will see some glare in the corners at night, but not very noticable. In the daylight i didnt see any glare, except when the sun is low behind the car. The glare is not from the lightsource, but from the Edge above the lightstrip👍🏽
During the day it's brighter - at night, it goes into a dim mode (there's no way to make it brighter unless you go to the settings to change the colour... once you go out, it goes dim again) - here in the Algarve, the sun is out and it's quite bright usually so it's not very noticeable. On a cloudy or overcast day, definitely quite nice. I would've hoped they did more cooler stuff (maybe in a future update) with the ambient lighting - like instead of warning the driver to nudge the wheel with the blue on the screen, I wonder if they can blink the ambient lights instead
Entertaining as well as informative, thank you. Before the video end, I almost headed to comment section to see if I missed Overall Summary. Personally for me, it would be good to have it up on the screen a tad longer. Could you comment on the Total Charging and Cost, looks like you charged for exactly the same amount of energy, but at different cost. What does the price depend upon?
Thank you! I will keep that in mind and leave it on for longer next time - thanks for your attentiveness. So the charging at the Tesla Superchargers depend on the time during the day. Usually off-peak is around €0.27-€0.29/kWh and peak is €0.36-€0.39/kWh The second charge on this trip happened to be during peak time (between 6pm-10pm)
I heard that you don't need to press the park button before getting out of the vehicle. Just take off your seat belt and it will go into park automatically.
wow I just googled it now - it looks amazing!! Will definitely try. Are you saying at the restaurant by the supercharger? or a specific place in Mealhada?
@@europeinatesla for leitão I’d advise Nova Casa dos Leitões or META dos Leitões (check Google Maps, Apple Maps seems to be a mess regarding these places). But I’m not a local so maybe someone from Mealhada has a better knowledge.
@@europeinatesla There’s a restaurant inside of the service area of Mealhada in each side of the A1 highway and the leitão sandwich’s are to die for. You should really try it.
The audio is relatively good - the bass is quite punchy due to the addition of the subwoofer, I feel like the mids and mid-highs are a bit lacking though.
I don't know if she's comfortable with that, but I believe that more interaction and conversation with your wife would make these videos even more natural. Anyway fun to watch as always.
Just wondering how on your screen you have the front named bonnet. I’m from Australia and we call it a bonnet as well. I’ve had my model 3 highland a week now and loving it. Thank you
Hahah thank you - we live a pretty active lifestyle. Prior to moving here we used to go to the gym and do a lot of Yoga and Pilates - but we haven't really gotten into the swing of things yet - probably because it's been "winter" (I quote it since it's not that cold). Otherwise I move around a lot daily in general - I can't sit still for more than an hour or 2 (hence long drives more than 2 hours is tough for me)
I'll be driving from Spain to Portugal in June with a same car as yours (18" wheels). The biggest distance in between superchargers I've planned is 317km. Do you think that is possible or is it really on the edge? 🫣 Also, I can see you have a Via Verde. Do you have a video where you talk about toll prices in Portugal? Also, any apps you would recommend for charging via non Tesla supercharger? Thanks
Hi! Thank you for watching! 317km is fine, as long as for that leg, you try drive slowly - below 100km/h. If you do 100 or more, it’ll be cutting it fine… I haven’t made a video about tolls yet - I’m thinking of including it when I eventually make a video about charging in Portugal. For 3rd party chargers, check out Miio - you don’t need to subscribe and can buy prepaid credit. Let me know if you have any other questions 😃
@@antoinepageau8336 Wow that's great! Thanks for the info. I've managed a little 150km test a few days ago on motorway at 120km/h and the consumption was 149wh/100km which means the 400km on one charge seems reasonable and I definitely don't have to worry about 300km in one go 🙂
Hi! No, not that I can tell - so the main highways in Portugal seem to work on "distance traveled" - so basically if I didn't stop, the tolls would be (example: €20), but now it's like €17 (first leg) + €3 (second leg) - these are example amounts
Great question - to be honest, for this route (Port to Algarve and vice-versa) - not really... I think the only time it would be worth it is if the Superchargers were full and you had to wait (since you can do it with 1 recharge on the LR instead of 2) - but the 2 recharges are quick anyways. If there weren't such an extensive network of Superchargers on the main highway in Portugal, then it might be an issue - but in my experience so far, it's been fine. For day-to-day driving (especially city driving) the SR is way more than enough.
And try a Francesinha in Porto? The tipical food in the City? Porto is the Best city in Europe. Good food, very nice People, Spain and cool cities it's near by. And there are good place to live. Outside the City center , call "baixa", because noise and night confusion ( bar and álcool night) there are fantastic places to live. Antas, Foz, Boavista.
