  • Last year a well known and highly respected Watch Dealer, Collector and Enthusiast Mike Wood was robbed of his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak on a London Street. Earlier this week two men were jailed for their part in the Robbery. We look at the actual robbery and the events that led up to it, including the Selfridges CCTV footage that eventually lead to the arrest and conviction of two men. The watch concerned was a Pink Gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, model ref 15300 serial number G37699. With thanks to Mike Wood at the Old Watch Shop for his assistance in the making of this video.

    You shouldn’t wear a G-Shock because of robbers, you should wear your AP, and a 9mm handgun to take care of them

      Bc economically, it would put a financial strain on a country... think about it, when someone goes to prison, they’re technically being given free meals & housing... now obviously, prison isn’t an ideal place one would want to call home; but Nation take on significant financial burden, further wasting resources that could be put elsewhere, and risks their prisons of becoming overpopulated

That shit will stop really quick, if you live in the UK as I can see on your vid situational awareness is of the most importance and citizens should be trained in this manner. Thanks for this very reassuring video. I think it shows yet again just how well our country is being governed.
    Why should our great police force spend their valuable time looking after the security of very rich people who enjoy the thrill of exposing themselves to danger by wandering around in dodgy areas with many thousands of dollars openly displayed on their wrist. These people probably enjoy bungee jumping, or sky diving, or any number of high risk activities that collectively define them as 'adrenaline junkies'. Not that there's anything wrong with all that of course.
    We see here a perfect example of how the cost of protecting such people has very effectively been transferred from the vast majority of the Casio wearing public to the highly efficient security of Selfriges, where the cost is rightly born by the people who ultimately benefit from it - i.e. their customers.

    Further to this we can expect an array of people, mainly from the left but also including fat-cat solicitors who will fight for their deportation to be void due to human rights etc. I'm very sorry for your friend and will share this video to those who should unfortunately be more alert when rightfully wearing their items freely on our country's streets.

    Sorry for Mike. Glad he wasn’t hurt. Sad to say but I’ve lost faith in police especially in Kent / London. They are too focused on traffic stops and speeding tickets to get involved or be proactive and worse still, the law isn’t designed to protect victims such as Mike should they fight back / defend themselves with equal force.

    The police will not go into a shop-for example-and seize all the CCTV footage. What they will do is go to the security control room to see if there is any relevant footage of an incident they’re investigating? Let’s say there’s 7 cameras that have picked up what they are looking for. The relevant parts of these 7 cameras will be burnt to a blank DVD. The relevant forms filled in and then put into e sealed evidence bag for the police to sign for. A copy of the DVD will be made for the store too. Sorry to hear about Mike’s case. Sadly it’s not an isolated thing anymore.

    hi paul, why do you sound doubtful they would be deported - just curious.
    also, why would it have made a difference if the police had retrieved the evidence? the video is there and clear to see - so why aren't all 4 of them locked up? am i missing something?
    thanks for sharing this - a depressing reality of london life. sadly this city has become a total shithole and is full of these scum, even in so-called safe/rich areas. ironically i feel safer in east london than i do in central london.

    • @PaulThorpeOfficial

      Stats tell us that actually very few criminals are deported upon leaving jail. We have enough of our own to deal with. We can do without these as well.

    • @AbstractMan23
      @AbstractMan23 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PaulThorpeOfficial interesting. maybe it's too costly and too much paperwork to get them deported? i actually did jury duty some years ago, and the judge said in his sentencing that the guy would be deported to africa. his crime was less than a watch robbery.

    • @tn_onyoutube8436
      @tn_onyoutube8436 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to deport someone if they claim their life is at risk if they are sent home. Human rights and all that. Not sure how that applies to Albania, but easy to claim persecution.

    In Sweden we also have an epidemic of watch robberies, mainly in the Stockholm and Malmoe area,perpetrated by the same category of criminals as in your country.
    Same story, short sentences (if any) very seldom deportations.
    Same advice: never wear expensive jewelry or watches especially in the evening or at night.
    Tnx for your important and valuable videos.

    why is this happening so much in london? what can they even do with these watches? serials are makred as stolen they cant really cash it. really really odd,, these punks need to be tought a lession in life, these acts will only continue if nothing is done about it.

      they have fences who will buy their stock, usually for a fraction of the value. or they can just sell it themselves on ebay or chrono24 and up it vanishes in the nether until some poor sap decides to service their stolen watch.
