I was a police officer for 11 years over 20 years ago. If the circumstances are as you describe them, and I have no reason to doubt you, then I cannot understand how you committed an offence at all. The UK, and indeed the world has gone mad. I used to be proud to tell people that I used to be a Police Office, but now it's a source of embarrassment.

Hi Paul. I’m a former Met officer long retired and I am truly for how you were treated. I, like many of my colleagues saw the future of policing and were disgusted by it and we all left as soon as we could. This is not the country it was even 50 years ago and the public at large is in great danger now from the do goodie fanatics that have taken charge.

    • @Art-is-craft
      @Art-is-craft 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

It’s the public that is the main driving force. They are apathetic to the state of society. They flock to football and reality tv in their millions but could not tell you how local councils operate yet know every detail of football transfers or what shoes a celeb is wearing. If a celebrity footballer was to dye their hair pink you would see lots if imitation on the streets.

That is true. I think you have stumbled on the real goal of government education, the media and people who really control the government want.
Bread and circuses. Be apathetic. Watch this mindless TV. Your government is in charge, go back to sleep.
Most of the public is so well trained and programmed by the conditioning they have had. It’s an amazing sight to see when you glimpse behind the curtain.

Australia 2022 : you can not defend yourself against an armed attack you have to wait for the police. This is what a Magistrate told me after she put me on a 5 year AVO because I used a piece of timber ( 3”x2” x3’pine ) that was in the gutter( after my attacker opened up my forearm with a knife) to defend myself. Our next door neighbor is a very creepy bloke who constantly lurks in the dark spying on my mum when she takes our dog out onto the garden at night. One night I'd had enough so I told him to stop and called the police. The police did absolutely nothing about his behaviour - despite there being CCTV yet they arrested me for telling him to stop it!
I didn't threaten him, swear, verbally insult him or even shout. The police said that because I had, in a private conversation with my mum at my own back garden door, called him a pervert to my mum and because he'd over heard it then this was a "section 5 public order offence" - on my own property!!!!

Hi Paul, I'm a jeweller in Guildford, Surrey not far from where your shop was located. I symphatize very much with your case.
Some years ago I had to deal with an aggressive woman at my front door and I was just trying to keep her outside as she was violently trying to gain access to my shop.
All I ever did was keeping her at bay with a flat hand until she eventiually gave up and I was able to close my door.
She then reported me to the police for assault and unbelievebly I was charged and had to appear in court. The case was dropped in the nend because she had to give evidence and couldn't be bothered to turn up.
I was very disappointed in the police as in your case they like to do the opposite what one would expect as long as they don't have to do any actual work. The victim is always the easy target.
Thank you for sharing your videos and best wishes for the future.

He got arrested for assault and the officers added extra charges relating to racism - the detectives - yes detectives, who took the case were the same ethnicity as the guy who attacked my friend.

I'd never encourage my son or anyone else to defend this country given the state it's got into. Look at the policing of the protesters, the bias in favour of the islamists is sickening. I saw some videos around the Cenotaph, they were climbing all over it and burning our flag. All a copper said was please come down sir!!!! Meanwhile British nationalists and Jews who were not causing trouble and only there to try to protect the Cenotaph, were viciously attacked with police welding batons. Days later a lone guy was again attacked and arrested violently by four or five police with another half dozen standing by "just in case he resisted too much!!!" His crime, to just be holding a banner saying Hamas is a terrorist organization, which it is recognized as being. The protesters meanwhile we're not disturbed while they were chanting hate slogans, had illegal face covering and intimidating anybody that didn't agree with their warped cause.
I now have absolutely no confidence in the police.

To then be failed by police with an investigation lasting less than 12hours before deciding they didn't have the time to follow it through (despite evidence being given to them). Those split seconds you describe took me straight back to my situation and it broke my heart to think another Father had to make that same choice to protect their own. Being a watch enthusiast and an RFD this story has so much meaning for me, and whilst it's shocking to hear I'm not at all surprised. The honest license holding gun enthusiast or sportsman is the main target for police force areas and their box ticking. For example a police spokesperson headline reads as follows, we have taken ......thousand guns off the street in 2021. Implying they have confiscated or captured x amount from the criminal element but no, it's by making it increasingly difficult or impossible for license holders to retain their guns and they have to give up their certificates or certain firearms because of pressure from the police. Your spot on Paul, as long as they are reaching targets and spinning good PR they dont care who suffers, they will take easy option every time. Hell they might get hurt if they target the criminal or worse still, have to do some work. I have just subscribed and look forward to more from you.

Sounds like corruption to me, the detectives were likely receiving compensation for burying the case. That makes the most sense to me, as robbing jewelry stores is clearly a lucrative undertaking with plenty of monies to go around. Really sorry to hear your story though, and I hope that your family and you are able to fully heal over time. Your story-telling & video editing skills are on-point, looking forward to the next "robbery #2" upload.

Absolutely you did the right thing Paul, protecting life, liberty, and property. You have more courage, heart ( not taken a life), and Witt then many. Cops like your local police give bad names for true law enforcement members who risk there lives protecting the public. The old saying “I rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6”is my motto, valuing my life and others around me comes first. Today especially criminals in the U.S. are getting out of jail 80% on bail reform the next day, with serious crimes which is totally unacceptable. Ty for sharing your story, and hope one day this painful memory wears less on you and your family, stay well Jeff.

Yes if they can’t arrest or apprehend the bad guys then they do the next best thing for them I think this is exactly what a lot of people fear if attacked and they fight back and hurt the assailants they will be charged with some sort of crime we need to have our rights to protect ourselves made much clearer as it would appear that the common person has no rights whatsoever in this country.

In my case, I was not present when my daughter was harmed. I have to live with the fact in knowing, I could not be there to protect her, and that's a tough one.

I remember when you first posted about this robbery a couple of years ago, I was disgusted then, as I am now. As a small watch dealer, and a former arms dealer, I know the restraint you must of had to stop yourself from pointing the gun at the robbers. When your family and yourself are being threatened you will do anything to protect yourselves.
I think the Police behaved appallingly and this should of been exposed in the national press and media. I do think there should be a law that if someone breaks into your house or business and threatens you or your family they lose all their rights, and you can use any force needed to protect yourself.

I sincerely hope that sharing this again in 2021 helps bring you closure. There is something terribly wrong when a victim is more scared of the Police than the robbers. Clearly, the Police took the easy route and went after the 'smoking gun'' literally as it was the easier option. Appalling indifference from those entrusted to serve and protect.

I just watched this for the first time and will watch it again when I've watched the other videos on this topic from Paul.
As I type this I'm shaking with a combination of sadness, rage and frustration at the treatment that Paul received from both the robbers (because these scum were not "just" thieves, but prepared to steal with threats of not only violence, but death too... And not only to Paul, but to his daughter too if they'd known she was present, and what father could possibly buckle and submit knowing that?) *and* the Police themselves.
I have family members currently serving in 2 UK Police forces and my Father was a Police Cadet back in the early '60s, and one of those family members is "deeply motivated by politics in order to further their career" (ie a self-serving, arse-licking, and totally spineless waste of oxygen...) while the other (who is fast approaching retirement) is very old-school and full of common-sense, but is terrified to ever say or do anything that may put their pension at risk so bites their tongue and plays the PC/LGBTQ/DEI game because they have *far too much to lose.*
My Father left the Police Cadets to join the Army because the blatant corruption of his senior officers sickened him to his core.
I worked with a guy 5 years ago who *had* been a high-level Police officer after joining-up at 19, who had (by his account anyway...) "always been firmly on the side of law and order, but probably spent too much time watching The Sweeney as a young man to fit-in with *modern* Policing", who, just 18 months before retirement, had had a naive young female graduate placed with him so that he could "mentor her in the ways of the job".
Within 2 weeks of taking her on he had suddenly, and totally out-of-the-blue after nearly 40 years of service, been suspended "As A Result Of Multiple Allegations Of Serious Misconduct" against him that had been made by his young Protegée and others, with the full support of whatever union Police officers are obliged to join, before being sacked and losing the entirity of his generous Police Pension, leaving him virtually broke.
He was, understandably, an extremely bitter man as a result of this, and felt extremely stupid that he had fallen for such an obvious trap, ie for using *Offensive And Prejudicial Language* when refering to known habitual offenders, displaying *Misogynistic Behaviour* by repeatedly calling her "Love", "Questioning Her Sexual Orientation" (by asking if she had a boyfriend), and *Suggesting That She Stood-Back During A Violent Altercation To Allow Male Officers To Deal With The Situation* (she was 5'3", of slim build, and he had a daughter of a similar age...), "Racist Language And Behaviour" (despite having 2 mixed-race Grandchildren himself...), multiple "Health And Safety Infringements", "Not Providing Sufficient RAMS Documentation And Briefings Before Issuing Orders", *and for the outrageous crime of "Asking Her To Get Him A Cup Of Tea"* on numerous (documented) occasions.
The subsequent "investigation" allegedly included recordings that she had made on her mobile phone without his knowledge (which are apparently not allowed in a Criminal or Civil Investigation without legal authorisation being given by a Magistrate before the recordings are made...), statements from career criminals that he had arrested numerous times over 15+ years (so they *obviously* had nothing to gain from destroying his career...), statements from various blue-haired "Members Of The LGBTQ Community" who he had no recollection of ever having met (and who couldn't prove that he ever had actually met them, but why would that matter...?), and statements about his character from his ex-wife who had acrimoniously divorced him over a decade ago when his daughter was 12 (and who therefore would not have been elligible for any financial benefit from his pension, because he was no longer liable to pay his ex-wife any costs relating to their daughter's upbringing from it, and she had married another copper soon after their divorce, so knew the system rather well...), and resulted in 18 months of intense stress, sleepless nights and huge legal bills, before being sacked in disgrace and losing his entire Police Pension, without any chance of appealing against it.
His former Protegée had since had 2 other senior (male) officers dismissed after *very similar, and obviously very serious, allegations were made against them* (because Precedents had been set by his dismissal), and her "Career" (behind a nice warm desk, with several brightly-coloured flags on it, of course...) had taken-off at an alarmingly rapid rate as a result, *despite never actually having made a single arrest...*
-Basically, that particular police force was short on cash to pay the currently-serving staff, so in this guy's words "they were "Maximising The Force's Resources" by not paying hefty pensions to anybody who didn't want to play the Woke-Game, and then using that money to pay themselves huge bonuses and send people who *did play that game* on f*cking stupid courses..."
Now I'm no expert, but apparently people wonder why we can't recruit enough Police, and why those that we do have never catch any criminals, and I'm pretty certain I know why...
But ^none of that is an excuse for the shameful way that Paul was treated^, and it isn't supposed to be, just an observation that I thought Id share...
