- During UFC Fight Night 156 in Uruguay Mike Perry suffered possibly the worst broken nose we've seen in pro sports against Vicente Luque. In this video I'll review the broken nose and give an easy to understand explanation of the nose anatomy and what we do for a broken nose.

Kristina Williams vs Heather Hardy, I think Heathers entire nose came off. There was no nose, just a red fountain on her face. I got sick to my stomach

Well Perry had more strikes landed but you have to think of damage. He fucked Perry’s face really bad. That’s probably why he won.

you are so smart man, i’ve learned so much from your channel. i don’t care for this sport, but i’m always interested in the injury and how you explain it. a team seriously should consider taking you on as a sports doctor or something because some teams could really use the knowledge that you have

Broke my nose in 2002 via steering wheel and telephone pole( fell asleep). Both eyes were black and swelled nearly shut. Didn't have surgery until a week later,and after surgery both eyes were Black and swelled worse than before.The surgeon said my nose was a bag of bones.
Cannot imagine fighting with a nose that badly broken. Props to Perry for hanging on and showing ton of heart!

Can you do a video on Thiago Santos injury and his timeline for recovery? Also if he can ever get back to a contender level fighter.
Of course he can be a contender. This is not tennis or football where you need hundreds of hours of play. He can come back, have 2 quick knockouts and be a top contender. That being said, he will have to adjust his future training style. BTW I'm not a doctor, but I know Cruz did it, GSP did it and Julianna Pena is trying to do it.

One of the worst I’ve seen man.
Nice video! I once saw a man in the ER for a broken nose. The problem was, his nose looked perfect! Turns out, his original nose had a hump on the bridge, and he wanted it back. No problem, used a scalpel handle and it popped back perfectly to where it used to be.

The broken nose with blood pouring from it was the only reason Luque didn't choke Perry the hell out. There was so much blood everywhere it was like trying to choke someone out covered in Vaseline. Bruh.
Hey Mr Sutterer, thanks a lot for your insightful video. I have a question and would love to get your opinion on the matter. I´ve been fighting for 15 years now and developed crazy like snap in my techniques. They come in so fast and hard now that I feel like the shockwave running back into my body and head make me feel dizzy sometimes. This happens especially when throwing short stuff likfe elbows. It feels like the shockwave goes right back into my brain. This happens during pad and punching bag training. Do you think that feeling can be detrimental to my brain´s health? Because it really doesn´t feel good in my brain. Thanks for your help! Keep up the good work!

Have you done Donald Cerrones nose brake where he blew his nose resulting in his eye blowing up.
My nose has been broken 5 times and I wouldn't have had surgery if it wasn't for a severely deviated septum to the point where I couldn't breathe through the left nostril. The recovery was a bit rough bc bending over to pick something up off the floor would make face throb and it also didn't help when I was laying on the couch and a 2 yr old hit my nose with his head, I thought he had broke it

Yeah, I figured that out myself - not to tilt your head back with a nosebleed. You'll end up swallowing it and throwing up. Not a pretty sight.

that was the most brutal nose fracture/break iv'e ever seen in mma or boxing. holy smokes that was disgusting. i remember bisping commenting on how crazy it looked.

I don’t know how it works but I used to get bloody noses all the time when I was a kid. My mom rolled up a piece of toiled paper and put it under my top lip. Worked every time.
Watching on tv, after the fight his face was so swollen and it looked like he was losing colour in his face, was this from bloodlose? After the commercial break it came back to his nose still busted but colour was back and swelling down.. more like the images you showed here. I was legit worried for a bit after that fight

I've broken my nose several times. Its actually fixed itself before from a big overhand from a sparring partner lol the nose is always the worst injury ive gotten. And ive needed shoulder and multiple hand surgeries but the nose was always the most inconvenient and painful.

I live in the UK and had my nose broken a while back and I put it back into place on my own but now it looks thinner. I want to get surgery but I'm not sure if they will believe it got broke or give me free nose surgery.

I don't know, but I raise my head backwards whenever I have nose bleeding and it stops within 30 seconds.
I've been doing this forever and the blood only ends up in my throat, normally I swallow. Doc, I guess I'm okay?
