Thank you, I feel there’s a lot of misunderstanding between our countries that separate us. I’ve heard a lot of American make fun of us, and I’ve heard a lot Canadians angry at America for the horrible things we hear in the media. The thing is though most of the stereotypes are countries have made for each other are a result of poor representation. The things we see on the news are only the bad things, there are good and bad things in America just as there are in Canada. Love the USA from Canada ❤️❤️
well the us technically never fought canada they fought britain because they thought that canada should be part of the usa therefore the us has always been there for canada just not for the British
1812 was a UK-US war, with Canada being the natural launch pad for Britain. Canada wasn't independent until 1867, and still technically a dominion of the British Empire until 1931. Any wars that Canada fought up to 1931 was a result of British policy, not Canadian.
So was Day 1 before or after the Hawley Tariff Act? Which had America raise taxes on Canadian products which led to Canada doing the same which pushed both countries into a Great Depression in the 1930s? I don't think being there for someone mean's bitterly attacking their economy, or the multiple cross-border conflicts since 1867, or USA's multiple plans for invasion and Canada's plans for invasion. So I'm guessing "Day 1" means some point after or during World War 2?
Miles Bailey There'S a strong vietnamese community in montreal but for some reason there's a lot of asian (probably japanese and koreans) based in vancouver
The right way to say would be" How good is it?" it's very good. Fun facts for you, Asians work very hard, pay lots of taxes. Asians buy lots of properties and other goods and services, which in turn creates lots of jobs. There are almost no Asian prisoners because they all have good up bringing. Asians have been here for centuries just like Europeans.
Watching this as a Canadian is just... Dang right. I see Canada and the USA as more close brothers, mainly because of the colonial past, the two only at arms in the late 1700's to late 1800's ALSO Sudbury has a strong community of Ukrainian people, Croats, and indigenous primarily being Ojibwe Aanishnaabe. As well as Sudbury was built with the CPR that is Canadian Pasific Railway making it one of the older Canadian cities, add to we have / had a big mining industry where in one point or the other we have family working for the mine or worked for the mine. Also again the light bulb was conceived here. BOOM!
A girl in my class today said that Canada was a continent. Another girl argued that Canada was a state. It's so sad that kids today don't know anything about the world around them.
I live in northern Ontario and I loved his video. Thank you for talking about the native tribes, not very many people actually bring attention to them!
Canada and the US haven't always been sweethearts, at least not when Canada was still British. There were hostilities during the American Revolution and the War of 1812, not to mention a few incidents around the Civil War (the Fineans and the St Alban's Raid)
The war wasn't about Great Britain regaining the States at all. It was about the USA being pissed that Canada was claiming unclaimed land that the US believed they were entitled to, and with the bulk of the British forces dealing with the war over in Europe, saw the perfect oppurtunity to attack and try to invade the Canadas in order to annex it. Fun fact, they lost. Attacking first and instigating a war does not make your "protection" of your current territory a victory, because by starting that war with a goal in mind, and failing to achieve said goal, you sustain a loss, and to be honest, a pretty big one. Not only was the White House burned down twice during the war, but had the Brits not been so forgiving when it came to signing the peace treaty, Michigan and the Ohio Valley, which were taken over by the British at the time, would be Canadian soil belonging to the Natives. Notice how the war stopped not too long after the British laid their war in Europe to rest? That's because the Americans new that with the added back-up, they would be beaten back far worse than they were at the time, and didn't want to risk losing their land. So no, America didn't win because the British didn't conquer the States, they LOST because they tried to annex Canada and had their asses handed to them with some of the most humiliating defeats on record being lost. They had a far larger army, and it didn't help, even in the first battle (which was mostly fought by the local farmers and citizens trying to protect their homeland).
Heywood Jablome that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard. you invaded Canada while the Britain was dealing with napoleon. and you say it was a preemptive attack to fight off the british? i understand american education is dumpster tier but that doesn't even hold up under its own logic
I’d say Canada is more of an older, quieter brother. They just watch the US run around like a hyperactive little brother, and usually pretends to agree with them to not upset them
To be honest, I think the US and Canada are brothers just like the brothers from Onward. Both may have some disagreements, but at the end of the day, They tend to have something more in common rather than have something that make them distinct.
The most heard words in Canada: Excuse-me, Please They are very polite. At first they seem cold, but after greeting, you find them charming. Love Canada🇨🇦 from Persia🇮🇷
bitten egg truth is i would say 70% of americans are embarrassed about their president so i would try not to give the americans to much grief over that
+Tekkit Man Yeah, 1812.. So??? Canada wasn't even *Canada* then, It was technically still Great Britain. So Great Britain burned down the white house.. not Canada.. YOU SEE?
+Mike Hawk No. Great Britain is an Island off the cost of Europe. Canada during 1812 was made up of a semi autonomous colonies under UK rule (Constitutional Act of 1791). Much like the 13 American Colonies were. The area was still called "The Canadas" and to say that you were "Canadian" back then meant that you were from either upper or lower Canada, which was under the authority of "The Crown". During the War of 1812 both British (UK) regular troops, and native born Canadians fought side by side with their native allies to defend The Canadas, upper and lower Canada. So yes, "Canada" did fight in the war not just British (who were mostly Irish anyway.) As for the Chesapeake Campaign and The White House, it was burned down by The Royal Marines, and a company of Provincial Marines (blacks from Jamaica). There was NO Canadian unit involved in the campaign. (War of 1812 reenactor and amateur historian)
+Eren Jaeger not a Draw because it failed to invade Canada so it was a win for Canada, a loss for the US, a loss for the british but a win for the US :D

As a (non-French) Canadian, I've recently become fascinated by Louisiana and Cajun culture. Louisiana has long been on top of my list of travel destinations for the US!
@@braydendaley3982Québécois that speaks French here. I would love to visit Cajun communities of Louisiana. I’ve seen a really sad documentary on how the Cajun French is dying 😢but I would really like to see if I manage to speak French out there!
@@anthonyrosique7965 It is quite sad how the language is dying here. I live in Acadiana but in a parish(county) that borders Texas. I haven’t ever heard Cajun French spoken in person before. Since most who speak it also speak English they tend to speak English in public. You would probably have to find some small hamlets with a low population that have a large portion still speak French to be able to speak their. These are quite rare though so if you came here I wouldn’t expect you to be able to speak to any natives without you speaking French first.

I’ve heard a lot of American make fun of us, and I’ve heard a lot Canadians angry at America for the horrible things we hear in the media. Ha true! and the occasional Cuba too XD!
What?! USA how could you do this to me?
Does that mean Canada and the U.S are in an incestous relationship? Since they both share the same dad (England).
"Canada and USA have been there for each other since day 1"
.. um.. I'm guessing 'Day 1' is way after 1812?
well the us technically never fought canada they fought britain because they thought that canada should be part of the usa therefore the us has always been there for canada just not for the British
1812 was a UK-US war, with Canada being the natural launch pad for Britain. Canada wasn't independent until 1867, and still technically a dominion of the British Empire until 1931. Any wars that Canada fought up to 1931 was a result of British policy, not Canadian.
Canada was effectively independent since 1867, so yea that's 55 years after war of 1812
So was Day 1 before or after the Hawley Tariff Act? Which had America raise taxes on Canadian products which led to Canada doing the same which pushed both countries into a Great Depression in the 1930s? I don't think being there for someone mean's bitterly attacking their economy, or the multiple cross-border conflicts since 1867, or USA's multiple plans for invasion and Canada's plans for invasion. So I'm guessing "Day 1" means some point after or during World War 2?
Logan Shrichan The day 1 after you guys burned down our capital

The right way to say would be" How good is it?" it's very good. Fun facts for you, Asians work very hard, pay lots of taxes. Asians buy lots of properties and other goods and services, which in turn creates lots of jobs. There are almost no Asian prisoners because they all have good up bringing.

Canada and the US haven't always been sweethearts, at least not when Canada was still British. There were hostilities during the American Revolution and the War of 1812, not to mention a few incidents around the Civil War (the Fineans and the St Alban's Raid)
William Hawrys that is irrelevant to the original comment, you're just trying to spark controversy
They were Canada , called Upper and Lower Canada although it was a colony and not yet a nation. Great Britain is in Europe
usa declared the war with intentions of annexing Canada, Madison himself said it. it didn't happen = Usa loss
They just watch the US run around like a hyperactive little brother, and usually pretends to agree with them to not upset them
I love my country. But I do wish our politically atmosphere would just chill and we stop being the worlds police.
well this analogy will be irrelevant when we finally annex canada
America is the older brother
@Rajeev Vij nice
@@biteme9486 definitely not lol
To be honest, I think the US and Canada are brothers just like the brothers from Onward. Both may have some disagreements, but at the end of the day, They tend to have something more in common rather than have something that make them distinct.

From Day 1... Forgetting 1812.. Shhh no one talks about that
+Tekkit Man my thoughts exactly.
So yes, "Canada" did fight in the war not just British (who were mostly Irish anyway.)
As for the Chesapeake Campaign and The White House, it was burned down by The Royal Marines, and a company of Provincial Marines (blacks from Jamaica). There was NO Canadian unit involved in the campaign.
(War of 1812 reenactor and amateur historian)
+Casey C Quick Q: I'm 13, but my old US history teacher said that the War of 1812 was considered a draw. Is this true?
+Eren Jaeger not a Draw because it failed to invade Canada so it was a win for Canada, a loss for the US, a loss for the british but a win for the US :D
