This was the best thing I've seen in weeks. As a Ukrainian currently living abroad I couldn't hold back tears watching my homeland filmed by my favourite youtuber during these tragic times. I was there in many places shown in the video just over a year ago, but it feels like it was in a different lifetime 😥. The football at the entrance to Irpin, the bridge over Dnipro, the streets and underground coffeeshops in Lviv... Thank you Barbs ❤

@@adamt-uz3og Meanings change. The earliest usage of this flag happened during the 12th century. Currently it's an unofficial war flag.
Edit: This is what the Ukraine Crisis media center writes:
Russian propaganda is still _demonizing_ the red-and-black flag to portray it as the symbol of Ukranian "fascism" and "nazism" used by Ukranian "far-right-nationalists" to kill Jews and Poles.
In fact, the black-and-red flag is depicted in the painting "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" by _Ilja Repin_ , which was created back in 1880-1891
The black-and-red flag was never officially adopted as a symbol of the Ukranian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Organization of Ukranian Nationalists. However, it was used in Ukraine's national _liberation struggle_ in the XX century
The flag was actively used during the Revolution of Dignity and the Russo-Ukranian war as a _symbol of freedom_ and the fight for an independent Ukraine. Black means Ukranian land and red - Ukrainian blood spilled for Ukranian liberty

Hello, another grateful Ukrainian here. Greetings from Kyiv. Thank you for showing the towns of Irpin, Borodyanka and Bucha. It really means a lot. They were bustling, green and beautiful little towns and I loved Irpin with all my heart, even thinking of moving there at some point - they've had parks and greenery and serenity in the air. Unfortunately, now with all friends there I know fleeing Irpin and it being destroyed, those dreams were shattered. We will just have to forge new ones.
Thank you to all the ally countries who are helping us. We will remember our true friends, forever.

My Aunt is from and grew up in Odessa, and she came to America immediately after the USSR collapsed. While most of her family got out of Ukraine just before the war started, her brother is still in Odessa. We thought he was going to be called to fight but they said they have way more than enough people fighting for them.
Despite that money is tight, and stores are cleared out and we sent him money and food. We continue to pray for him and the rest of Ukraine

I moved from Texas in Dec. 2011 to Ukraine. Was in Crimea before it went to the Russians and after. I have lived all over the country and now live in Kyiv. This is my second home...and understand the media just started paying attention to this country....but some of us is home.

@@alyxskyler I had been to Mexico and dated Mexican girls and had dating asian Thai girls off the boat in Cali and had a bunch of gf in my city. But I started talking to girls overseas and I got my passport and set up 5 girls to meet me over a month in Crimea when it still belonged to Ukraine. I met 1 per week and after I came back to the USA all my gf were jealous and hurt and mad . A month later my company was bought and I immediately bought a ticket to move here. You can say girls but I chose at 38 to leave USA and since then I changed my life my language my body my finances my options my views and my future. I was destined to leave as I had been to prison in Texas from 18-26 so coming home and moving up in corporate world I always knew I had found what some identity and success but it was another prison in my head. So I avoided marriage and kids and when my marriage to my company ended I left the USA within a week. So I was heart broken but had money and my wings so today I am here.
